Ignition Module Problems of Buick Park Avenue

The contact owns a 2002 Buick Park Avenue. While driving approximately 35 mph, the contact heard a chime twice and the vehicle shook violently. The vehicle lost acceleration and a burning odor was present. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic (richie's auto repair in chicago heights, illinois) who diagnosed that the ignition module and a coil were damaged and needed replacement. The contact also stated that the vehicle was repaired by christi anson Chevrolet (9700 indianapolis boulevard highland, indiana) for the same failure back on September 22, 2015 and December 15, 2012. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 107,000.

The driver seat belt unbuckled warning chime doesn't work. The "key in the ignition" warning chime usually doesn't work. The mall module has been diagnosed as the cause by a local Buick dealership. This same issue is a recall on some of this model and make of car, but not currently on this VIN#. Gm and suttle motors of newport news, va refuse to pay the cost of the repair. I feel like this VIN# should be part of the recall. I purchased this vehicle used 5 years ago, with the problem occurring the 1st day of ownership.

When starting vehicle there was aloud bang, vehicle would not start. Consumer saw smoke coming from under the hood, then flames. Dealer could not determine cause of fire. Fire department stated computer was the cause. Vehicle has extensive damage.
