2 Brake Light On problem of the 2013 Buick Regal

Failure Date: 06/01/2019

After using the brake pedal, it does not come all the way in the up position when the interior of the car is hot. I have to lift the brake pedal with my other foot, or brake will be partially engaged and brake lights will be on. Brake pedal works fine when the interior of the car is a normal temperature.

3 Brake Light On problem of the 2011 Buick Regal

Failure Date: 08/30/2018

A lot of pressure is needed in order for the brake light to illuminate. The brake light only illuminates when at a complete stop but not when gradually attempting to slow down and stop. I have had my car at a repair shop and during the discussion I was told that I would have to add more pressure to the brakes for the brake light to illuminate. This could cause a serious accident because cars behind me are not allowed enough time to stop in an appropriate time. I have been stopped by the police on several occasions for this issue only to find out that more pressure is needed on the brakes for the light to illuminate. This is not good and makes me fear for my safety.

4 Brake Light On problem of the 2011 Buick Regal

Failure Date: 10/01/2017

Vehicle had recall 12212"a" performed in oct of 2014 at delarship, this results in sometimes if not every time of a mis-calibrated brake position sensor. The mis-calibration results in my vehicle requiring the brake pedal to be depressed almost to the floor before the park position disengagement sensor is activated. It is at this point when the brake lights are activated. This extra pedal travel results in me being able to come to a rapid stop from 85 miles an hour on the freeway without any rear brake lights activating. The brake lights are not intermittent, they activate every time the pedal is pressed far enough, while driving this is only at the point when abs would be activated under emergency braking. Buick/GMC is aware this is the case and issued recall 12212"b" on oct 11, 2016 which reads: "this bulliten has been revised to include a note before step 4 of the service procedure. Please discard all copies of bulliten 12212a. " the note states: "the brake pedal position sensor calibration must be performed after the brake pedal position sensor, bcm, ecm, or hpcm have been serviced. " Buick/GMC has not informed drivers under the original 12212a recall that their brake lights will not activate because of this recall service and have refused to honor this newly updated procedure on my vehicle and shows as "complete" on nthtsa website. Bottom line the original botched 12212a results in brake lights not activating and anyone that had 12212a done should get 12212b notification and recall coverage.

5 Brake Light On problem of the 2011 Buick Regal

Failure Date: 07/26/2016

I have been having a problem with the brakes sticking on my 2011 Buick Regal for a couple of years now. The problem occurs when the weather is hot, in the middle 80¿s and above and my car has been sitting closed up in the parking lot at work all day. I can recreate the problem by leaving it out of the garage in the sun for several hours. This is extremely dangerous and is getting worse. At first it caused a drag on the brakes and the pedal would not return fully to its proper position. I have to use my left foot to pull the pedal back up. Now the pedal refuses to come back up at all when I take my foot off of it after starting the car and the brake warning light on the dash has come on a couple of times. I am extremely uncomfortable driving it like this. I have to pull the pedal back up every time I use the brakes on the way home. The brakes will return to ¿normal¿ after about 15 minutes by which time I am almost home.

My cruise control and brake lights stopped working after having a recall fixed on my 2011 Buick Regal. The recalls that were fixed were an oil life monitor control module and a turn signal control module. After having this fixed, my cruise control and brake lights no longer are working. I was pulled over by a policeman, otherwise I did not know they were not working while I was driving. The brakes will come on once I depress the brake pedal all the way to the floor of the car, but not while driving in normal conditions. I could have been rear ended several times, as there was no indication that the lights were not working.

11 Brake Light On problem of the 1997 Buick Regal

Failure Date: 04/22/1999

At low speeds (under braking conditions), brakes make loud grinding noise and completely fail to stop the car. Abs light, low tracking light and engine check light came on/off. We have had 14 instances where the brakes have completely failed. Approximately 5 seconds after initial failure, the brakes come back. We have taken the car to the dealership 8 times so far, and they have not been able to correct problem. We have called the manufacturer to report the problem (case#990045360). Various brake warning lights continue to illuminate, even when the car is not moving and we are not applying the brakes.
