The contact owns a 2004 Buick Rendezvous. The contact stated that while traveling various speeds, the vehicle suddenly stalled. The contact also mentioned that the failure occurred intermittently and that the instrument panel failed. The contact also had to replace the battery twice. The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic where it was found that the ignition relay and fuse box needed to be replaced. The vehicle was being repaired under NHTSA campaign number 05v157000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 132,000.

2 Instrument Panel Failure problem of the 2005 Buick Rendezvous

Failure Date: 08/03/2012

Tl- the contact owns a 2005 Buick Rendezvous. The contact stated that there was a progressing failure in which the tpms warning light illuminated, the vehicle was taken to the dealer several times and they indicated that air needed to be placed in the tires, rotated the tires more than onceand later indicated that two of the four tires were defective but released no information on the recall for the tires. The contact also experienced a failure in which the instrument panel shorted numerous times while the vehicle was in operation. The dealer replaced the instrument panel and the failure recurred. The contact also experienced the vehicle stalling randomly numerous times. The dealer replaced the battery and did not reprogram the computer and the vehicle continued to stall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and they provided no remedy. The approximate failure mileage was not available. Dyd.

3 Instrument Panel Failure problem of the 2004 Buick Rendezvous

Failure Date: 07/01/2010

The contact owns a 2004 Buick Rendezvous. The contact stated that the instrument panel gauges failed. In addition, there was a strong odor of fuel emitting from inside the vehicle. The dealer diagnosed that a fuel line was rusted but he was unable to diagnose the cause of failure for the instrument gauges. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but denied any assistance with repairs to the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 56,000 and the current mileage was 70,000.

4 Instrument Panel Failure problem of the 2005 Buick Rendezvous

Failure Date: 03/04/2010

The contact owns a 2005 Buick Rendezvous. For the last two months she noticed that the brakes seemed to be locking when they were applied which made it difficult to stop the vehicle. When the dealer diagnosed the failure there were no failure codes. On April 12, 2010, the failure recurred; however, on April 19, 2010 the dealer stated that the vehicle was safe to drive and no failure codes were detected. While the contact was driving the service traction, abs and brake lights were illuminated on the instrument panel when the failure occurred. The dealer drove the vehicle and stated that they were unable to duplicate the failure. The failure became progressively worse and it became more difficult to stop the vehicle when the brakes were applied. The service manager drove the vehicle on April 21, 2010 and was able to duplicate the failure; however, they were unable to determine what caused the failure to occur. The failure occurred at least three times in ten days. The vehicle had not been repaired when the complaint was filed. The VIN was not available. The current mileage was 85,851 and the failure mileage was 86,000.
