The seller lied about everything! the first question I asked was if the car was in an accident. He bragged about being a mechanic, and doing all the work on the car, so everything in the car is in, "tip top shape. " he replied, "no, never!" he did not allow us to ride the car on the interstate before the purchase, claiming it was illegal. 10 mins after leaving the car lot, the car cuts off and is unable to crank back up. The seller meets us and claims it the battery. A "new" battery was placed in the vehicle, but the problem persists. My fianc, who is not a mechanic, told him more than once, that the problem was not the battery, but the alternator. He got the car to crank. As we are riding down the interstate, the car cuts off, and we are left aimlessly rolling and are unable to control the wheel. Plus, the electricity in the car is off so we can't even turn on our hazard lights to caution the other cars on the road. After speaking to the seller, once again, he tells us there is nothing he can do about it and will not cancel the deal. We've only had the car for 4-5 hours. After speaking to several mechanics, they quickly confirm that the alternator is the problem and anybody that claims to be a mechanic can see the problem immediately. They also inform us the car has been wrecked and should have not been resold for safety measures. Driving this vehicle almost cost us our lives.

My car won't hold a charge. I buy a new battery and the car says battery saver mode activated. The battery will be dead by morning or if I take it down the road the voltage will start dropping before I get home. When I say down the road I mean less then a 2 miles. After I turn my car off it won't start because the battery voltage will be to low. I've had the battery and alternator check both are fine. Checked to see if their might be lights left on, but nope not even the truck light. So I'm at my end with the car, it's a $30,000 car that I can't even drive. That's a lot of money for a yard ornament.

While vehicle is running the radio turns off and on intermittently stationary or moving. The vehicles while driving shut down while driving. The car sometimes won't start when turning on the ignition switch. Airbag lights is on and check voltage light are registering while stationary or driving. The plugs, alternator and core pack was replaced hoping to resolve the issue. Took vehicle to the Cadillac dealership but they denied me any service under the recall problems I was experiencing. There position is the recall is VIN. Specific.
While returning from a trip, the engine shut off and all the power in the car was gone, while driving (in motion). We had been driving approximately 1. 5hrs. We were going about 65mph, when the radio and ac went off. There was a message that said something about "battery reserve" (?????) I turned the radio and air back on. Immediately after, "service brake assist" message, then entire dashboard (including speedometer) goes dead. Car shuts off and immediately decelerates. Fortunately, we were in the slow lane already and could get out of quickly moving traffic (and the cars behind us could swerve into the other lane to avoid hitting us). On the side of the road, all power was still lost and could not remove the key from ignition. Attempted to "jump off", which restored power to remove the key. But vehicle would not start and ultimately had it towed. Dealer said motor was locked but didn't know (or immediately care) why. After I prodded the service manager, the technician called to say it was the alternator belt that was locked, causing the motor to be locked. With all of the ignition switch issues that I have read about the last 2 days, I am concerned that neither of those are the cause, but a result. My key "fix" lasted about 2 days. Although mentioned, the key was not "fixed" on the next visit.

The contact owns a 2008 Cadillac Cts. The contact stated that there were several electrical failures, such as the turn signals failed to function and the middle console electric functions failed to illuminate. After several repairs, the failures continued. The contact had three batteries replaced and the alternator assembly replaced, but the failures continued. The vent controls also failed to function for the heater and air conditioner. The manufacturer stated that there were no recalls pertaining to the failures. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000.
My Cadillac Cts 2004 key is stuck in the ignition and will not release. The car was towed to two different dealerships one said it was a battery. I purchased a new one that wasn't the problem and one thought it was the alternator and that wasn't the problem. I did have a recall on the key ring and got that taken care of, but honestly the same recall that is dealing with the camaros and the cobalts need to be enforced with the Cadillacs. Gm new there was something faulty about the keys getting stuck in the Cadillacs. I've been on several forums and we all have the same problem!.

2003 Cts - service tracking system began to display and engage frequently. Took to local dealer and was told nothing was wrong with vehicle. Problem continued and began vibrating badly and pulling toward left (unable to brake). Returned vehicle several times before they replaced "steering sensor" $650. 00. Two months later began to lose power immediately after start up, dealer replaced battery. While driving vehicle home problem began again. Displayed low battery, then multiple warning lights for service (abs, tracking, airbag ect. . . ). Returned vehicle to dealer and they are currently replacing alternator. I have no confidence that this is the real problem based on what I have read on-line regarding this same issue. I also have same leakage issues from both coolant and oil sources that I have read on-line. Dealer continues to tell me to replace both gaskets and thermostat. These again are common issues that are posted consistently on-line by consumers. These are seriously dangerous failures based on people's personal safety. Gm must step up and honor these safety issues by recalling these items. Inability to control vehicle due to tracking system engaging and not able to brake, vehicle losing power and stalling while driving 50 miles an hour, and lastly fire hazard due to leaking plastic valve cover gaskets.
