While driving heard clanking under the car for about 2 blocks then stoped. Took it to the dealer and found out 2 bolts had backed out of the drive shaft and one had sheared. Had the exact same problem with a 2011 Cts. I had purchased a warranty when I bought the car in 2018, car was repaired. I did notify Cadillac. Right front headlight has moisture. Understand Cadillac used inferior seals previously. Will need to replace. Light cost approximately $250. 00.

Both headlights on the vehicle have had to be replaced very recently (spring/summer) following a cold and harsh winter. We believe that the problem identified with the srx models extends to the Cts and perhaps other Cadillac models given the number on the street with a single headlight; however, Cadillac has denied our claim. The cost of repair of both headlights exceeded $600.
The Cadillac daytime running lights and headlights exceed american medical association eye safety requirements of 3000k color temperature or less. The Cadillac lights are damaging the eyes of drivers of oncoming vehicles and of pedestrians. The glare caused by the Cadillac lights prevent drivers of oncoming vehicles from properly assessing road conditions and surroundings.

I purchased a new 2011 Cadillac Cts4 in August 2012 from herb chambers Cadillac in lynnfield MA. Since that time, I have driven the car approximately 60,000 miles. This problem affects virtually all (tens of thousands!) Cadillac Cts and srx vehicles built since 2008. After driving the car for a few months, I noticed that condensation appeared in the headlight assemblies after driving in or parking in the rain. The condensation would naturally evaporate during evaporate after the rain stopped. Over time, the low beams became dimmer and dimmer. They have become so dim that driving in other than well-lit areas is dangerous. I contacted the mike anagnos, service manager at herb chambers Cadillac. I presented the problem to him. Without inspecting the car, he stated that this was a common problem and that the headlights and headlight wiring harness needed to be replaced. He stated the replacement of two headlights cost would be $1400. 00. He explained that the problem was caused by water ingress to the headlight assembly causing the headlight connectors to corrode and 'melt'. He offered no further explanation as to why two headlights would cost approximately 10% of the car's bluebook value. I asked him if the corroded wiring that melted presented a fire hazard. He did not reply. I believe that this presents a risk of under-hood fire. If you do an internet search on Cts or srx dim headlights, you will find hundreds of complaints about this problem and the outrageous cost to repair. See also Cadillacforum. Com and justanswers. Com my research indicated that when Cadillac repairs these vehicles, they use the same parts that were used when the car was built. . . Virtually guaranteeing that the problem will present itself again. This car is a danger to drive at night and a fire risk from the 'melted' wiring harness.

Headlights dimming over time. Car is barely drivable at night. Dealer says I need to replace headlights and wiring harness. Stated that wiring harness was likely melted. I estimate that headlights will be at total failure by 12/31. 18. Dealer wants $1200+ to replace headlights and defective wiring harness. Cadillac refuses warranty support. At least two class action complaints have been filed in usdc. Fire risk! fire risk! fire risk!.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Cadillac Cts. While driving, the contact stated that the headlights were very dim. Upon inspection, it was discovered that water was present inside the driver's side head lamp assembly. The vehicle was taken to falkner Cadillac (447 e. St rd, trevose, PA) where it was diagnosed that the entire headlight assembly needed to be replaced to prevent the water from leaking inside the assembly. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 30,000.

During the day my right headlight does not come on. There was a recall on this but I was told my VIN# was not included in the recall. I don't understand, if I have the problem, why would they not include my VIN# and repair the problem.
The problem started with the timing chain, which led to coil issues and catalytic converters issues which led to low head beams constantly burning out. Everytime work is done it causes a chain reaction to other parts in the car that requires more and more money. Now the engine light is still on and I am told that since the first catalytic converter was repaired, the second one now needs replacing and the low head beam on the passenger side has wiring issues that will not allow the new bulb to burn, I am told that the wiring appears to be spliced. The catalytic converter was replaced in April and so was the low beam bulb. Headlight was replaced in April, 2015 it is not working today and was told by dealership that the wiring had been spliced or burned out. Radio speakers do not work and all was centered around issues with coils and catalytic coverters.
Purchased this car brand new in 2012 from camargo Cadillac in cincinnati, ohio vechile has 41,000 miles and well taken care,in 2015 noticed headlight on passenger side having a lot of condensation. Took vehicle back to dealer and was told car out of warrenty. 6 months later drivers side doing same thing. Told it would cost 2800. 00 hundred dollars to replace both headlights. Car has never been in any type of accident. This is outrageous. If I had known these headlights was such a problem would have never purchased vechile. At this time drivers side daytime running light is out. The lights are called hid/xenon leds.

My station wagon is a 2012 that I bought new in Aug 2013. In about a year I noticed condensation on the inside of the sealed led headlight assembly.
Low beam headlights periodically will not light when ignition turned on, or they can go dark after working correctly, or only 1 or the other low beam light might go dark then come back on, while driving.
Electrical connector on the front right headlamp melted and prevented the use of the headlight. Second incident in 8 months, with the first occurring on the left front headlamp. Dealer blamed incident on heat generated by the halogen headlamp.

Headlight cover on Cadillac Cts 2003 develops cracking and spider webs, such that visibility is diminished. I have noticed this on all older Cts vehicles in the phoenix area. It may be due to the sun. However, this problem does not appear on other older vehicle headlamps. The dealer will not repair despite extended warranty. Repair can only be done via replacement on the entire headlamp assembly which costs in excess of $1,300 plus labor by a gm dealer.
Low beams on the headlights has a black bar in my line of vision. Creates a "blind" spot and makes night driving on the country roads near my home dangerous. It also creates an area of darkness that doesn't light up stop signs or intersections along these roads . I feel this should be something that has to be corrected!! I drive along these roadways while it is dark twice a day 4 times a week on my way to and from work. I would feel more comfortable if my entire line of vision was lit up. Thankfully I have the use of the high beams that do not have this dark bar.
Headlights project a black bar at night across roadway, making it difficult to see and obstructs street signs. Talked to dealer several times about this problem but was told that nothing could be done about it.
2003 Cadillac Cts. Safety defect included the low beam lights. A shadow is present when the lights are on low beam. Contacted the local dealership and they told the consumer that they would fix the problem for 50% of the cost. While going around curves or on a hill one can see a shadow. Incident date was July 26, 2005. No crashes, no police reports, no injuries. Updated 11/2/2005.
Headlights flicker, about as quickly as the blink of your eye. Have retruned the car to the dealer three times but they have been unable to duplicate or repair the condition.
Hid headlights s. U. C. K. , in almost all instances where I have had the misforune of having a vehicle so equiped coming at me I have had to shield my eyes because of the glare and eye strain. Knowing that dot and associated agencies seem to have a regulation for everything automotive. I thought maybe a useful regulation could be enacted regarding these safety hazards that the "big 3" are trying to pass off as headlights. I am now living in europe and here headlights don't glare drivers like us spec lights do. Why does the rest of the world have real headlighs and in the us we have to have these poorly aimed "flood lights". Current us headlights are in serious need of a new standard that matches the rest of the world. That way I, and the rest of the motoring public, won't have to drive with sunglasses on at night.
When the headlights were on low beam they produced a dark spot. As a result, vision is impaired.
Dark bar obstructing night lumination. Have had the lights adjusted three times. Cadillac will not correct. Unable to drive car safely at night. Light shines as far as the top of trees and underpasses. On coming drivers flash their lights as if I have my high beams on.
Headlights project black bar across roadway obstructing street signs, stop signes, etc. Dt.
(corrected complaint) headlight low beam on the Cadillac Cts 2003 has a black bar that reduces vision to about 75 feet and on dark country roads, this shortened vision is extremely dangerous. The headlight should be a recall before serious accidents occur as a result of this condition. What was Cadillac thinking? Cadillac doesn't seem to think there is a problem but obviously they don't ever drive their product on dark roads at night. This headlight problem needs to be corrected!! it is awful!.
Consumer states vehicle head light has a purple line through head light lens. Dealer has been contacted. Please provide further information.
There was a spot in the headlights which caused low visibility at night.
A black bar appears about 75 feet in front of the car with the low beams on. This is particularly noticeable when driving along narrow country roads in the area in which I live. I feel that this is an unsafe design and have reported it as such to Cadillac but the company doesn't see anything wrong with a low beam system that has a built in blind area in the projected beam in the drivers line of sight. Request you investigate this safety complaint please. Dt.
