My rear tail lights for my wagon have separated from the top of the car due to poor design. Spoke with Cadillac & gm, both refuse to believe it's a design flaw on the wagon models. Both stated car out of warranty due to mileage/year. Asked if they could tell me what was used to attach lamps to vehicle, neither has a clue. Dealer wants $2100 to replace, but no guarantee that it won't happen again. Since January 2019, car has been to dealer 3 times for car not starting on 1st try. First time, negative battery cable tightened, 2nd time replaced positive battery cable, 3rd time dealer has no idea as to what is causing the issue. All lights on dash come on, engine does not turn over while parked. It will start on the 2nd try, sometimes it hesitates. Dealer told me to continue to monitor until vehicle breaks down.

There should be a recall on all Cadillac Cts models 03-07 for faulty tail lights. The long center stop light is neon and moisture burns it out, difficult and expensive to replace, faulty product-some states require this third stop light, dealer wants $700+ to replace with new faulty part. The two regular stop lights are equally difficult to fix when they stop working. No brake lights on this vehicle. To check the fuses is additionally complicated as one or both are under the backseat which requires removal of the seat, including two other fuse situations. This is truly dangerous and the design and product is inferior, taking much time and cost to have repaired. I am not aware of any other vehicles at these model years with un-safe difficult brake light issues, and Cadillac is arrogant to say "it's a Cadillac thing" I think Cadillac needs to get it's lighting functions correct for road safety issues and I'm so angry about this problem that I think Cadillac should be forced to re-call these vehicles and fix them properly at no charge with properly functioning lighting electrics and bulbs. Mal-functioning brake light problems are in my opinion a grave safety issue.

The contact owns a 2010 Cadillac Cts. The contact stated that the rear left and right top plastic retaining lamp fell off. There was a one forth inch of space between the tail lights and the body of the car. The manufacturer was contacted and did not offer a remedy. There was thirteen tail lamps replaced on the vehicle. The failure recurred. The failure mileage was 5,322.
The tail light lens do not fit properly. They warp out at the top ends, causing very sharp protrusions that can catch your hand when washing or wiping the vehicle. These were replaced with new ones at the dealership. However, after a few months the same condition has re-occurred. This in my opinion is a safety issue that should be addressed by manufacture. I have managed to cut my hand on more than one occasion because of this condition.
I am finding that the newer vehicles with the led tail lights are very distracting. When folloing these cars and moving my eyes from side to side the pwm switching frequency causes me to see a strobing effect. This seems to be worse on the Cadillac's with the larger tail lights. But there are getting to be more and more cars with the new led light. Appearently when the brakes are applied the lights go on steady and I do not see the effect. Some of the newer signs on some of the kwik trip stores in our area are also distracting. When seen it makes me think there is a fire truck or police car with the flashers on. It will be a big problem when more car companies start using them.
