The nippendenso fuel pump neck is cracked and is leaking fuel. $3200 bucks for the dealer to replace. Bought on line and replaced for $1256 bucks. Every Cts v has this issue. I cannot imagine that this is not a recall. Pumping on the ground is a safety issue. Check the forums and you will see all of these vehicles have a fuel leak problem.

I went to Cadillac to get the recall fixed they said it was closed out and couldn't fix it and now I can't smog my car and I can't tell if I have gas or not and I'm scared to drive it without getting the fuel pump fixed.

Tl the contact owns a 2008 Cadillac Cts. The contact smelled fuel in the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that fuel was leaking from the fuel pump on top of the fuel tank. The dealer (Cadillac of arlington, 2001 n collins st, arlington, TX 76011) was made aware of the failure, but could not assist. The manufacturer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 115,000.
Gasoline leak from the fuel pump assembly, on top of the gas tank. I noticed a strong odor of gasoline and upon looking under my car, near the passenger rear tire, I found a small puddle of gasoline on the ground. I could see gasoline on the bottom of the tank. I researched on the Ctsvowners. Com forum and rather quickly found others with the exact same issue. In order to fix the issue, the fuel pump assembly (part# 19207950) had to be replaced. I think this warrants a recall, because the smell of gasoline is so heavy it might can ignite in a garage and potential danger from catching fire while driving, due to the proximity to the exhaust. Each of the cars I read with the same issue, all had less than 50k miles.

The fuel pump fuel feed line has developed a leak and is spraying fuel creating a fire hazzard. On top of the tank sits the fuel pump. On the fuel pump the feed tube connects to the fuel line which then goes to the engine. This leak created a fuel odor and got progressively worse. I found dampness on top of the tank, which was gasoline. Upon my further investigation I noticed the fuel spraying out of a pin hole sized crack. This is similar to a recall issued on other gm vehicles in the past and I feel the Cadillac Cts should be included. I've notice other people having the same issues via an online search at Cadillac web forums. I performed the repair myself but it is a very labor intensive and expensive repair for a non capable person if done by a dealer or repair shop. We are talking about a 6 hour job because the rear frame, differential, exhaust etc must be removed to access the gas tank. A major issue and safety risk in my view. The leak will occur whenever the car is on as well as off since the fuel system is under pressure. When car was parked - my garage smelled like gas the leak was so bad. ** I have photos and video and will upload at a later time. ** this car is a perfectly maintained vehicle and still appears brand new - no abuse or other issues caused this defect in the fuel pump module.
Strong smell of gasoline was coming from the car while driving and while stationary. Took car to be checked out and learned that a crack and leak was in the plastic supply line of the fuel pump module. This caused fuel to spill and settle on top of the fuel tank which created a dangerous condition and possible fire.

The contact owns a 2009 Cadillac Cts. While driving at any speed, an odor of fuel emitted from the fuel pump into the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer three times, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.
Tl- the contact owns a 2005 Cadillac Cts. The contact stated that while driving 35 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact was not able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the fuel pump discharged into the engine, which caused the oil and engine bearings to seize. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign id numbers: 14v394000 (electrical system), and 14v542000 (fuel system, gasoline). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available. Djr.
Went to jiffy lube to get engine oil changed. On the way home my car started to stall, then shut off. Took it to the GMC Cadillac dealer and they stated I needed a new fuel pump, and that there is a leak. I searched online and there is numerous recalls for this exact situation, however my vehicle is not under this recall.

There was a campaign number 14v-542. For Cts-v recently not for Cts for the same problem. We had no alarm indicating that fuel pump was faulty. After verification at the dealer we were told the fuel pump module melted. They did not understand why the car did not catch on fire. The only indication we had was a strong smell of gasoline. The garage replaced fuel pump module and connection.
A recall has been issued by gm for 2004-2007 Cadillac Cts-v cars concerning the fuel pump module and the electrical connector melting a hole and allowing for a fuel leak. See gm recall: n140405 I have verified that my car uses the exact same fuel pump that is in all the recalled cars. The same pump would then require the use of the same style connector that is prone to melting and spilling fuel. I would like my fuel pump to be repaired just as all the other 2004-2007 Cts-v's. This is a significant concern for safety.

Received notice of recall # 14405 in sept 2014. Gm says this is not a recall, per Cadillac cust center (800 458 8006). As such they have no information on said recall, nor a timeframe of when or if said recall will be performed. They have said parts are not currently available for repair of this supposed recall. There have been no reports of injuries or fatalities from this supposed problem, therefore it is not a priority to gm. The only remedy suggested by cust. Assistance is to pay dealer out of pocket to replace defective fuel pump with an identical part. There would be no recovery of cost due to same failure part being installed. Vehicle owner concludes gm will not comply with recall 14405, a known fire hazard to the vehicle and occupants. 10,005 vehicles are included in this recall.

Fuel pump assembly leaks from the plastic "pvc" 90 degree elbow located on the top of the fuel pump. Normal vehicle operation will cause the plastic "pvc" elbow to crack which in turn leads to a pervasive and dangerous fuel leak. The fuel leak then begins to puddle on top of the fuel tank which then flows down the fuel tank towards exhaust and eventually the ground. A strong smell of fuel is present while vehicle is on or off. The leak becomes greater as more fuel is sent to the motor. This is a pervasive issue on many 2009-2015 Cts and Cts-v vehicles which can be seen on many message boards and forums. This issue has the high potential to cause a fire in which injury or death can occur. In addition, this leak does cause a fuel shortage to the motor affecting drivability of the vehicle. The piece that leaks is inferior and should be replaced to avoid issue. A recall should be issued to resolve this potentially deadly issue.
Car was towed to dealer. Repairs findings included a melted fuel pump harness and fuel pump inoperative as a result. I feel under certain circumstances the results could have been catastrophic resulting in damage, injury, or possible death.
Strong smell of gasoline was coming from rear of vehicle. Upon inspection, a crack and leak in the plastic supply line of the fuel pump module was found. This caused fuel to spill and settle on top of the fuel tank which results in a dangerous condition and possible fire hazard. This is similar to a previous recall (12v459000) on 2007, 2008, 2009 gm vehicles that did not include Cadillac.
Car hesistated to start . . Dragged along the road. . . Sputtered and shut off. . No fuel making it to the fuel pump but there is gas in the tank.
First incident: when driving, engine would loose power, engine light on, fuel pump replaced second incident: two weeks later, driving car and engine shuts down, no power, no brakes, no power steering, gas milage to empty was at 68 miles. Replaced fuel gauges third incident: one week after replaced fuel gauge, engine shut down while driving, no brakes, no power steering, and gas mileage read out was 69 miles. Fortunately, we were at a standstill in the middle of the road and the car restarted, went to gas station, filled the car with gas, it took 14. 7 gallons, the Cts gas capacity is 18 gallons. Dealer doesn't know what the problem is. Just waiting for a solution. This is a major safety concern that needs immediate attention.
