I have only had my Cts for a month but when braking on about three different occasions the brake pedal will push back against my foot. These have occurred twice in my driveway stopping to back into my garage and once coming to a stop light.

When turning at a low rate of speed the breaking system completely fails. This nearly caused my entire family to end up in the middle of a very busy highway. Thankfully we were traveling slow and the emergency break worked. We immediately got home and checked fluid as was well. Reading through online complaints there are many people complaining of the exact same thing. I am truly worried this could get someone killed. At the time the breaks failed they stuttered a bit and the break light on the dash came on as well as a tone or alert in the car. Please take this seriously before someone gets killed. This just started happening suddenly out of the blue. My daughter had told me her breaks did something strange when backing out of the driveway one morning. Then the next day she said it did it again going forward she almost hit the car in front of her. I had her take me for a drive so I could see for myself and I was terrified when it happened.

On April 8 2016 my wife was on the way to the bank at peach and liberty in erie PA. She was stopped at a red light when the light turn green she had no transmission or brakes. Luckily for her the emergence break worked because she was going backwards. Had it towed to roth Cadillac in erie PA. Was told that the transmission and transfer case broke (there was no warning) and they didn't know why the brakes went out when the transmission went. So again my wife contacted Cadillac headquarters and my wife got an email from Cadillac headquarters saying sorry for your problem but we will give you one hour of diagnostic for free. And from the dealership said this been happening a lot.

When ever I make a slight turn at low speeds,ie. 10 mph or less the abs actuates and the car is unable to stop. This is very prevalent when pulling into a parking spot. I have had firestone auto, parker cadilac, and american tire and auto in my hometown look at this issue and all told me that they could not pull codes. I have been told that if any indicator dash warning light come on then it will trip a code, but this issue does not. This is an ongoing issue with this car. .

I was driving into a drugstore parking lot and as I applied the brakes the car sped up instead of stopping, the more I applied the brakes the faster the car went. . . It appears that the speed went from about 10 mph to about 40 mph and as a result of this, my car sped up and went across a busy intersection and into another drugstore parking lot. Had it not been for the pillars in from of the second drugstore, we probably would be dead. The car simply would not stop! it eventually stopped after hitting the pillars at the second drugstore. It was god who blessed up and kept us here on this earth. . My car was totaled. Now I am without a vehicle. This car was a runaway car at the time that the accident occurred.
Tl the contact owns a 2007 Cadillac Cts. While approaching a stop sign, the contact depressed the brake pedal and the pedal traveled all the way to the floor without stopping the vehicle. As I was backing out of a parking space and proceded to drive forward and to come to a stop the brake pedal went straight to the floor I almost rear ended another vehicle as I hit the emergency brake in time to stop my question is there a recall for this as it never gave warning anything was wrong on the dash or otherwise.
Service brake assist message on screen and abs/ trac control lights. Brakes were checked with no issues found. Also anti-locks will active on dry road for a second or two.
Driving to work went to stop and vehicle pull to the side and would not stop normal. I drove the vehicle to the dealer and the reported right rear hub not sensing speed signal and needed to replace and not covered under my warranty. I see gm and Cadillac has had a lot of problems with this wheel hud and have recalled on other model years. These are $600. 00 per wheel to replace and think that they should last longer than 39,000 miles. Would not want to have been driving at highway speeds when this fails. I contacted Cadillac and they would not repair without charge.

I noticed that occasionally my car brakes would stop working a push back at me with a pulsing feeling when I was trying to stop. This happened to me 6-7 times intermittently when driving very slowly and turning, it wasn't something that I could re-create each time. Next I received an intermittent in-dash message that stated "service brake assist" that would come on for a few seconds then disappear. It didn't always appear when the brakes were not working. This would typically happen when parking in a parking space, slowly making a sharp turn. I actually hit concrete parking buffer one day because I couldn't stop. In taking my car to the dealer I was told the elecronic brake control module needed to be replaced. And that the right front wheel and hub bearing needed to be replaced due to the ebcm. The cost was about $2000. 00. I've researched this issues and am seeing many Cts owners with the same issue. I feel this needs to be addressed. The public needs to be notified that this is an issue with the vehicle. It is extremely scary to find out that your brakes are not working. I have two small children that travel with me often. Vehicle owners need to be aware of the brake issue with this vehicle and Cadillac needs to be responsible in fixing the problem and not waiting for people to bring in their cars until their brakes are not working. Brakes are a must have on a car and this is a public safety issue.
I had just exited the highway and waited at the end of the ramp for the traffic signal to change. I was proceeding into the intersection after waiting for light to change. I began to accelerate and another car ran the light and hit my car on passenger side. The responders said I was t-boned. When I got hit the car steering wheel locked up, the car came out of gear, the gear mechanism inside the car came apart, the brakes didn't work. I had no control of the car, it shut down. The only thing that stopped me from hitting the metal guardrail was the car ended up on the curb on left of road in the bushes. The passenger window shattered and windshield on passenger side was damaged. The passenger door was pushed into the car and neither of the airbags deployed. The responder's commented that they were surprised that the airbags didn't deploy as hard as I was hit. The vehicle has been deemed a total loss as the damage is extensive. Previously on a few days have had to jiggle the steering wheel and the keys in ignition to turn so that I could start my car. I had previously checked the gm site and entered my VIN because I had times when the ignition switch in my car would not work. There was no recall for my vehicle.
Tl- the contact owns a 2013 Cadillac Cts. The contact stated that while traveling approximately 45 mph, there was an abrupt stop at a light by vehicle one, then vehicle two, vehicle three and vehicle four all crashed into each other and the contact was the fifth vehicle to crash into the rear of the fourth vehicle. The contact applied force with both feet to the brake pedal and the vehicle did not stop. The air bag emploded and there was a gray substance that emitted within the vehicle impacting the contacts breathing capacity and visibilty. A police report was filed. The contact was in shock, sustained three fractured ribs on the right, neck damages, damages from the knee to the ankle and major headaches. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer and there was extensive repairs that required further inspection and diagnosis of the vehicle. The contact was notified of NHTSA campaign id number: 14v394000 (electrical) the contact was waiting for parts to schedule a recall repair. The authorized dealer nor the manufacturer was able to indicate when the parts would become available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 5,000. Dyd.

The transmission cooler lines blew out of the radiator. The transmission fluid was blowing out all over the egine compartment front tires, front brakes, and onto the road. I saw on some forums, where they stated that this was a common problem for the caddilac Cts. And I wasn't sure if anyone else had filed a complaint. It definitely was not a safe situation to be in. To be honest, I have owned/driven a number of cars, starting from a 1950 chevy. I can't believe that the cooler lines blowing out of the readiator is now a problem. None of my previous vehicles had this problem and they were definitely not in any kind of pristine condition.
Most often when driving at speeds 15 mph or less and doing a turn (such as parking or going through a drive through), you cannot push in the brake pedal and stop the vehicle. You have to to rapidly press and depress the brake pad until the brakes engage and stops the vehicle before hitting the vehicle in front of you or some other object. I have also experienced this during an emergency stop at highway speeds. The vehicle has been to the dealer for repair. They were supposed to have fixed the problem. $1000 later the same problem is present. Second issue with this vehicle, the anti-theft system periodically trips itself and the car cannot start for approximately 10 minutes.
The contact owns a 2012 Cadillac Cts. While driving 30 mph, the brake pedal extended to the floor when the brakes were applied. As a result, the contact rear ended the preceding vehicle. The air bags deployed. The other driver was injured, but did not require medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 30,000.
First incident: when driving, engine would loose power, engine light on, fuel pump replaced second incident: two weeks later, driving car and engine shuts down, no power, no brakes, no power steering, gas milage to empty was at 68 miles. Replaced fuel gauges third incident: one week after replaced fuel gauge, engine shut down while driving, no brakes, no power steering, and gas mileage read out was 69 miles. Fortunately, we were at a standstill in the middle of the road and the car restarted, went to gas station, filled the car with gas, it took 14. 7 gallons, the Cts gas capacity is 18 gallons. Dealer doesn't know what the problem is. Just waiting for a solution. This is a major safety concern that needs immediate attention.
