The contact owns a 2013 Cadillac Escalade. The contact stated that while driving approximately 5 mph, the steering wheel seized making the vehicle very difficult to control without warning. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the entire steering column needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was repaired but did not rectify the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 5,000 and the current mileage was 14,000.

The steering wheel has a lot of play in it. When accelerating steering wheel pulls to the right. When stepping off the accelerator pedal steering goes to the left. Dealership is telling the consumer that there is no problem. Genral motors field representative says that the vehicle is operating within specifications. Consumer is unhappy with the findings, and would like to get this problem resolved.
