Approximately 2 weeks (03/18/11) prior to repairs the front of the vehicle 2007 Cadillac Escalade
had a "shaking noise" the slower you drove the more noise it made. We took the vehicle to the dealership who quoted $1,000 for repairs. At the time we dropped it off the service manager made us aware that there was a "bulletin from general motors " about the problem that it was "normal wear and tear and they would not issue a recall. " it was found by the dealership that the front jounce bumpers and front struts and mounts needed to be replaced. I contacted gm service line while it was still in the shop and had to pay for the repairs in order to have the vehicle to drive. I had numerous phone calls to gm and they stated "normal wear and tear" and your 50,000 bumper to bumper warranty does not cover it since it had 62,926 miles on it. I requested a district supervisor review and the outcome was the same. We have had Cadillacs for 25+ years and some with 200,000+ miles on them and never had this type of problem and treatment from anyone. We received no satisfaction or consideration about our problem from gm except for them to repeatedly state "normal wear and tear. ".
