Battery Dead Problems of Cadillac SRX

Vehicle stationary. Unable to start. Unable to remove key. Battery goes dead. 2 gm dealerships say there is no fix. Have had car diagnosed. No fix is unacceptable for a Cadillac. Dealerships "fix" so car starts and then the same problem starts. Please advise.

Stationary car of only 4. 5 months age, was hit in rear on 15 may 14, and was knocked 15 ft into another car. The damage appeared minor though the other car was totaled out. On 9 july14, the battery failed for no apparent reason. Impacts can damage the brittle lead cores of batteries. Warranty replaced the dead battery but it should have been done by the other driver's auto insurance company. Luckily, the battery did not catch fire but; however, when numerous batteries are inter linked, fire is a very real risk and it can occur weeks later while in the garage at home.

Purchased 2010 Cadillac Srx new in 2010. This car was in the dealership garage more times than I owned it in the first 6 month. At 19,200 miles, car would not start. Had it towed to dealer. No problem found. Recharged battery. This battery failed a total of 8 times, finally on oct. 25, 2010, battery was bad, according to dealer, and replaced. Unfortunately, the warranty had run out and I had to pay $249. 66. Isn't it strange that the dealer didn't find a defective battery until the warranty ran out. 8 times this battery failed. 8 times I was stranded.

The contact owns a 2010 Cadillac Srx. While driving 35 mph, the lights on the instrument panel suddenly turned off. The contact drove two miles and the lights except the speedometer became visible. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the instrument cluster was replaced under warranty. The contact called the manufacturer who took the complaint and stated that a representative would contact him. The failure mileage was 9,017. Updated 1/06/lj the consumer also stated the battery died three times. Updated 04/07/11.

While on trip to texas, we were starting to enter freeway from rest stop near slidell la, as we were accelerating engine died leaving us with no power brakes or power steering. Managed to pull car off road. After 5-10 minutes tried starting car, engine fired uo ok so commenced trip. Shortly after that all instrument gauges quit, pulled off highway to check engine, all ok so started on. Stopped at Cadillac dealer in baton rouge, they could not find problem. Gauges stopped working several more times but no engine problems. Arrived in texas no further problems, however next moring car would not start, battery dead, called Cadillac dealer (car was lease) they came out and replaced battery . Next day car stopped running while in traffic, again after 5 minutes was able to startup again. Took car in to dealer in grapevine texas they were unable to duplicate problem. Several weeks later, battery died again, plano Cadillac dealer sent out technician and replaced battery again. These problems continued until we came back to our home in alabama. Same problems on that trip. Took car into dealer in mobile alabama were we had leased car and told them to fix it, replace it or keep it under state lemon law.
