Safety defect remedies on 2014 Cadillac Srx (VIN: 3gyfnee36es532374) dear sir/madam, I am writing as the owner of a 2014 Cadillac Srx, VIN 3gyfnee36es532374, to address two critical safety defects that I believe are the manufacturer's responsibility to remedy. Water intrusion and electrical failure: my vehicle has a known defect where water from the sunroof consistently leaks into the trunk. This water repeatedly causes electrical damage to the component located under the spare tire. I have personally replaced this component on three separate occasions, only to have it fail again after rain. This recurring failure disables my rear windshield wiper, a crucial safety feature. Driving with my child in the car while unable to clear the rear window is the most unsafe I have ever felt. Dangerously dim headlights: the front headlights are dangerously dim and do not provide adequate illumination for safe night driving. This is a well-documented issue with this model and poses a clear and present danger to my family and others. I have already spent my own money attempting to fix a problem that is a design flaw. I have no desire to pay for any further remedies for these issues. As the manufacturer, general motors is responsible for the safety of its vehicles. I have also filed a formal complaint with the national highway traffic safety administration (NHTSA) regarding these matters. I have been trying to enjoy this vehicle from the time it became part of my life. The first 6 months, I was unable to close the sunroof, because of that my passenger seat cracked since its been exposed to the sun for 5 years, the driver's side window could not roll down which we fixed; I never owned a vehicle where I could not access my trunk. The first 6 months of having this vehicle the lifgate became inoperable. The lift gate does not work. The sensors of the vehicle are useless, the car radioi does not work the cue sticks, which can be distracting and can cause an accident so I use the youtube on my phone for entertainment. The sensors led to the transmission deteriorating to the point of the transmission fluid burning faster and deteriorating the components of the transmission. This is going to cost me 6000. 00 these are known manufacture defects for the Srx 2014. Please help.

The cue touchscreen display has cracked for the second time in seven years without any physical impact. This appears to be a widespread defect in Cadillac Srx models. The screen becomes unresponsive and is a major distraction while driving, impacting safety, navigation, climate control, and backup camera visibility. Cadillac previously replaced it under warranty, but it has failed again. Gm has not issued a recall despite hundreds of similar reports. ”.

2015 Cadillac Srx with 87,397 has a failed electronic brake control module (ebcm) or abs module. It can be made available for inspection upon request. Alexander Cadillac of oxnard refuses to repair it stating a replacement part is no longer available (it can be repaired by a specialty repair company). They cite liability by using after market or repaired parts. Without a functioning ebcm - abs,power steering and traction control do not work which puts me and others at risk. Worse, the failed ebcm is now causing the car to go into "limp mode", which cuts power to the engine and prevent acceleration. When making a turn onto a street, it suddenly went into limp mode and I was almost hit by an approaching semi-truck. The problem was identified by alexander of oxnard service center - but they refuse to make any effort to remedy the problem. There are multiple blogs on the internet citing similar systemic issues with the ebcm that is no longer manufactured but can be repaired by a specialty shop. Lights on the dash first started to appear in September 2024. Lights include abs, brake and traction control / stability light. New lights started to appear in June 2025 including check engine, headlamp and auto-parking symbols. Alexander Cadillac of oxnard cites that the ebcm is drawing too much current and causing issues to other systems on the car - a cascading effect. I am very afraid to drive the car and fear that it will lose power when needed, stall or the brakes will lock up.

I had baker Cadillac dealership to perform the toe-link recall as well as a multi-point vehicle inspection on may 28, 2025. This is for a 2012 Cadillac Srx-3. 6 luxury collection [VIN: [xxx]] that I was going to purchase for my [xxx] daughter pending the inspection results. Because Cadillac technicians performed the inspection and nothing major was flagged, I purchased the car for my daughter. That evening, I was driving the car to fill up with gas, and the brakes completely cut out! I talked to a friend who knows more about cars than I do, told me the brakes cutting out was likely a result of the recall repair needing to reset to the proper values. I didn't think too much of it after that until 5 days ago when I was on [xxx] driving at 70 mph, the brakes completely cut out again. The road was wet and they cut out as I was exiting off an interstate overpass onto a ramp which circles back toward the direction I was coming from that ultimately feeds onto the road underneath the exit. I fishtailed side to side the entire length of that ramp that has no barriers at a lethal speed which could’ve killed me! if my daughter would've been driving, the outcome would’ve likely been fatal! I contacted the dealership who performed the recall installation and the multi point inspection and told them everything that happened. I wanted answers as to why this wasn't caught during inspection, what exactly caused that to happen twice in less than 10 days, and what needs to be fixed to prevent this from ever happening again. I paid firestone to perform a comprehensive test on abs and they could not replicate the issue, so they couldn't do anything to fix it as everything appeared to be fine. No system lights came on or anything. I have since learned that this is far from an isolated issue; in fact, this is quite a scary pattern with the 2012 Srx 3. 6. My 2012 Cadillac Srx gets water into the back of the car when it rains. There is a module in the back which when it gets wet shuts off all the electrical components in the car. The rain enters the car and gets trapped in the wheel well and all through the other components in the rear of the car. I have had this happen before and repairs cost up to 1000. 00. General motors needs to be accountable and a recall needs to be issued.

This vehicle has had an intermittent (for a few years) issue with all of the warning lights (abs,stabilitrak,parking brake,steering) coming on when starting. If you tried to drive it, you would have no power steering causing the vehicle difficult to handle. This would not happen every time it was started. We took the car to the local Cadillac dealership and were told nothing was wrong and it was just the system going through the electronic check system and to just not put it in gear until after the lights cleared. That actually did work sometimes. Recently, it came off and would never go off. We took it to a shop that does other work on other vehicles for me. He found that the electronic brake control module was bad. He tried to source a replacement one but found that it was discontinued with no alternate part. He did find a used one which we are waiting on to be delivered and then installed. My first concern is that if this happened when my wife was driving she could lose control of the vehicle causing an accident. My second concern is how can gm discontinue a known problem (I found multiple forums discussing this issue) part with no replacement. The vehicle is 10 years old with only 75k miles. I have read this has been an issue for quite a few years.

Cadillac cue system started with spider veins on screen then stopped working at same time light gate goes up and down on its own when driving very dangerous, sometimes when parked it will go up part way down up again and then close someone walks by might hurt them shame Cadillac will not admit to this mistake on a 50000 car.

The Srx models have been documented as having a defect with the headlights. Cadillac failed to notify all owners about a reimbursement program for a brief time in 2020. I own a low miles, garage housed Srx that is a danger to drive at night. I do not mind fixing my vehicles when there is a problem. However when this is a well-known highly documented issue, this is where I feel Cadillac should assist with this fix.

The contact owns a 2014 Cadillac Srx. The contact stated while driving at approximately 5 mph, the infotainment screen intermittently darkened, the infotainment screen intermittently was inoperable, and the vehicle back up camera was intermittently inoperable. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that there was an unknown component failure that needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and made the contact aware of a g. M. Q reimbursement program associated to the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 69,000.

I am not a mechanic so I don’t know what all I know is what I like I experienced and when I was driving down the road, my Cadillac shut off like it had no power to it no power steering no lights no dash lights no warning lights or nothing pulled over my car will not start back up I had to have it towed when I got home and looked inside the casing around. The battery had melted with a bunch of wires and tubing that was on top of the battery completely melted everything inside.

The headlights are ineffective. It is like driving without headlights at night. Had bulbs replaced but did not improve lighting. Moisture on inside of windshield. On cold evenings the inside of the windshield is frozen. March 21, 2024 the tailgate will not open. It appears this is a common complaint with this vehicle caused by drainage from the sunroof leaking onto the module that powers the tailgate.

Rear toe link and . Lag in acceleration was completed on 05/08/2014 but the problem persists also electrical failure seat gets stuck or engine wont turn on , blind spots makes sound when no vehicle around engine has no power tcm transmission control module code comes and goes.

The headlamps were replaced in 2020 (vehicle recall), and I was reimbursed for the replacement. The headlamps are now, again, dim and ineffective at night.

Seat heater burned a hole through the seat on the driver side.

Was involved in a accident. , side panel airbags deployed. , shrapnel from airbags cuts and bruises on airs and shoulders. Also, driving car during summer with high temperatures cause electrical problems with dashboard system.

The brake light, the abs light and the stability control light came in my vehicle and gm says that the ebcm needs to be replaced this should be a recall because a lot of cars are having this issue and they don’t have the parts available, is been more than a year I’m driving like that.

Water makes its way inside the car. Drains seems to be clogged and interior carpet and roof gets wet. As a result lift gate will no longer open as water made its way to the back.

My abs break module light stayes on - Cadillac stop making the part for the 2015 Srx. This is a safety concern and also reduce the trade in value.

The automatic trunk does not work. I'm unable to open and/or use my trunk. Moon roof does not open airbag light is on vehicle jerks very hard while operating in drive.

The cue screen will not work to raise up the screen to view there is no backup camera to view because of screen not popping up and or no sensors warnings working causing animals and, people or objects not to be seen when backing up. Also back lift gate will no close to latch down and lock, causing liftgate to open while operating the vehicle on open road.

Left front signal light and right rear signal, other vehicle's cannot see where I am turning, yes where I have my oil changed did their inspection, no problem with the bulbs. Yes a mechanic, when turn on the signal to turn right the information center said that the back rear signal had failed and when turning left the information center said the front left signal failed.

2/17/23 - alarm went off 6am est; I received an onstar theft alarm notification indicating theft deterrent system had been triggered. Sensor: door/trunk/gate open. No activity around vehicle; alarm stopped on its own. No threat detected. Key fob nor internal button would open rear lift gate. 2/20/23 problem confirmed by dealer (integrity Cadillac, chattanooga, TN); water found in rear cavity from sunroof drains; water damage to lift gate module and motor, (both replaced) clean sunroof drains $1760. 37 vehicle not inspected by mfr. , police, insurance reps, etc. No warnings before alarm triggered; only after alarm triggered, "theft detection warning" error msg scrolled across dash after vehicle started; gauges on dash acted erratically while driving.

Onstar(r) vcim draining my battery, it’s not my battery or alternator and already replaced connections too. I have a recall sample that was sent out 04/15/2013 bulletin no 11-08-44-003a.

The screen on the the radio keep going out the tire get wore out quick even after rotation and balancing the suspension makes noise.

Cue screen has spider webbed and not able to use hands free or ac ( only fan moter comes on but to turn on ac it's on the screen.

Dim headlamps that are non fixable by installing new lights. . Headlamp assemblies in the 2016 Cadillac Srx suffer from defective seals that allow moisture to accumulate and condense, therefore damaging and dimming the headlight bulbs.

The contact owns a 2016 Cadillac Srx. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, she could not see out of the rear window. Upon inspection, the contact discovered that condensation had accumulated on the inside of the rear window. The contact also discovered that he was unable to open the rear hatch from the outside and had to use a screwdriver to open the hatch. Once opened, he discovered that the spare tire and rear side compartments were all filled with water. The rear hatch module was also submerged in water which led to the hatch failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was given a case number. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was 21,000.

Water is getting inside of the car’s shell and interiors. The carpets and ceiling gets wet and drips. Mold is visible and inhaling causes allergic and breathing issues. Water is a major issue on the interior of the windshield and other windows. I can hear water traveling inside the roof when I drive. This is causing electrical problems. My trunk is not working to open. My sunroof is also not working.

I am filing a formal complaint with Cadillac and the ntsb about the design of the 2015 Cadillac Srx sunroof drains and rear hatch. The issue is that the rear sunroof drains get clogged and water fills the rear compartment and destroys the rear hatch electronics. Further, there is no manual release on the rear hatch which creates a safety hazard as there is no access to the spare tire. The repairs are estimated at $3,091. 09 as shown on the attached quote and diagnostic receipt.

Brought car to shop and after 3 months trying to figure out problem gave up. I towed it to dealership and after another month finally said car proved to be a mystery but extensive damage due to water leakin the rear shorting out entertainment module.
