The contact owns a 2010 Cadillac Srx. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 mph, there was smoke coming from the hood of the vehicle and the vehicle became difficult to maneuver. The contact exited the vehicle and discovered that the engine compartment was on fire. No warning lights were illuminated prior to the fire. The vehicle was occupied during the fire; however, no injuries were sustained, and medical attention was not necessary. The contact stated that a police and fire department report was filed. The vehicle was towed back to the residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 211,000.

Vehicle lurches from 0-20mph since purchase of vehicle from greenbelt caddillac. Vehicle only serviced there until no longer in business. Shifter linkage cable issue assumed. Parking brake disengages prior to switch depress. In automatic mode, when switched to manual, shifter does not highlight that it is engaged in shifter box. Dashboard shows change in transmission function. Camshaft position sensor bank 1 code returned around 100-120k+ miles after 2 flat tires and suspension serviced by caliber collision. Onstar taking control of vehicle suspected of causing timing belt to skip timing supported by Chevrolet ourisman of bowie. Paid $800-1000 to ourisman for service and diagnostic. Ourisman suggested engine needed to be opened to fully inspect or replaced for $6-8000. A piece of the sensor was claimed to have broken off and fallen into lower engine manifold. Vehicle would rev when stopped and putter to halt. Vehicle would start and stick in second gear up to 40mph until stopping and refusing to start. Engine replacement evaluation reconfirmed by foreign auto parts of annapolis, MD after explanation. Chevrolet of silver spring attempted to buy car for $100 after suspect inspection. Declined. 3 new sensors were changed manually though did not turn off the check engine light, still returning bank 1 camshaft sensor. Eventually vehicle towed to mz auto repair 9500 allentown rd, fort washington. Engine swapped, battery changed and check engine light cleared. Vehicle ran for 2000-3000 miles until check engine light returned with same code bank 1 camshaft position sensor. Vehicle presumed tampered with during lifetime of use however original lurch during engagement of powertrain implicates feigned manufacturer defect or original Cadillac of greenbelt.

Vehicle has dangerous and life threatening transmission problem that has cause me to lose control of my vehicle. Problem with jerking and cutting off started approximately in 2022 with 2 visits to shop for repair. In may 2023 until 2024, vehicle has been in repair shop for repairing including replacing transmission with a rebuilt transmission. Repair shop said vehicle is still u nsafe and may need to replace tranmission computer . Repairs has already caused me almost $20,000.

I am not a mechanic so I don’t know what all I know is what I like I experienced and when I was driving down the road, my Cadillac shut off like it had no power to it no power steering no lights no dash lights no warning lights or nothing pulled over my car will not start back up I had to have it towed when I got home and looked inside the casing around. The battery had melted with a bunch of wires and tubing that was on top of the battery completely melted everything inside.

Car completely quit running while driving. Almost hit a car with no control of my vehicle. Took it to mechanic, they said engine was locked up, they say this is very common with any Srx from 2008 to 2014. Got another opinion. Said the same thing. Many blogs on this. Now this cost me around $8000 to get fixed. If so many has the same problem. Why is this not fixed or recalled.

2004 Cadillac Srx had emissions recall work completed in 2008. Since that time gm and Cadillac have had numerous recalls in subsequent model years with the same issue. Emissions problems have reoccurred. The problem is actually not being fixed if it keeps reoccurring. This affects the air we breathe. Vehicle has been inspected.

Engine locked up. Checked by 2 separate mechanic shops.

Onstar(r) vcim draining my battery, it’s not my battery or alternator and already replaced connections too. I have a recall sample that was sent out 04/15/2013 bulletin no 11-08-44-003a.

The oil burned down from 6 quarts to 1. 25 quarts with no leaks and no detection or warning and the engine seized. Needs a new engine, automobile turned off on the road.

Oil sensor unit failure causing engine to lose oil. A realproblem.

We bought a 2011 Cadillac Srx from carvana April 4th of 2022 later that same year in October 22 the engine lights came on and I had to replace the water pump and the belt twice. I call them in October and the rep said it is what is. Now in January 2023 I need a new engine. I took it to 2 different repair shops, and they said same the same thing I need a new engine. So, I took it to the Cadillac dealership to make sure and they told me that this car has never been service in a very long time. Dealership said he never saw anything like this, and dealership also said this car had problems before it got to me, I have been going back and forth with carvana with no end sight. I have all the records of the services that has been done since we had it. Claimed loss: $15,453 desired outcome: carvana needs to pay bridgecrest financial the money we borrowed from them. They can pick up this junk car that don't work. Needs an engine it didn't pass inspection. It's been in my garage ever since.

Hello, I wanted to let you all know that I have a 2010 Cadillac Srx, to which in the past these type of vehicles had had a transmissions issues, thus recalled. . . Well the vehicle I own, is doing and having the same transmission problem/issues. . . And yet it is not under the recall list. . . The Cadillac dealership, has my car and is wanting to open up the transmission and inspect it for almost 2 thousand dollars( I like on a dissability montly income) . . I had this same car diagnosed at 2 different auto shops , whom provided me with the folllowing 2 error codes p076 and p0700, which are the transmision control solenoid and the transmission control module. . . But back at the Cadillac service dealership , here in amarillo TX. . . They want almos $6000 for a new transmission replacement or half of that for rebuilding the current one. . . When I strongly believe that my car is part of the same recall , being the same model and same similiar transmission issues.

The car makes a knocking noise from the engine and in order to drive, you have to hold in the traction control button. I was told that the connecting rod broke and has to be repaired & I believe that should be a recall with the engine.

Service rear axle message is displayed on the driver information center. The code indicates awd has been turned off which can put my safety and or safety of others at risk. Service bulletin (pi0703b) was issued for numerous 2010 Cadillac Srx, unfortunately the recall wasn't issued for my vehicle (VIN). The service bulletin was for dtc c0407 with symptom code 64, the exact same code that was found with my vehicle.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the fuel system was faulty, a yaw sensor was faulty, and a battery sensor was faulty. The vehicle was not yet repaired. Unknown- took my vehicle in for the recall listed above, to then be told that my timing cover gasket: timing cover gasket leaking. Service advisor indicated that this is a known issue with Srx's. I did search for a recall on all years, but not on the 2012's. Not sure why they were not included. I was informed at the price of $2134. 53 it could be repaired. I only have 87 plus miles on this vehicle. While I have not had any warning lamps or messages appear, or leaking, why is this. I whole heartedly believe that this should be inspected and a recall should occur for this years make and model.

Car has stalled out 5 times since Nov 12,2021 to Nov 22, 2021 and now the car has broken down in the middle of the road and will not start back up. We were at a red light when it just turned off and does not work now. It was smoking and smelled horrible like burning plastic. I had to remove my kids from the car because they could not breath anymore.

On sept 26 2021 I was driving my car when I noticed it began jumpy and would hesitate at high speeds then when coming to a stop. After coming to a stop my car seemed it was stalling out while sitting at the stop light. Proceeded to go and my car didn't want to go into 1st-3rd gears. I just got this car 5 months ago it is very concerning when I need to make a sudden acceleration and cannot. I am highly concerned my car has a recall that never was issued to fix this dangerous problem.

Engine timing chain had stretched and jumped a notch on the sprocket, which caused the check engine light to come on, and that's the only reason I knew there was an issue. If I had kept driving it and it jumped another notch, it would have stalled, making the vehicle hard to control. I've read numerous other owners have had the same issue with this vehicle.

The car takes a unexpected hesitation during acceleration on road or highway at any given time which is very scary.

Engine light appeared on and off. Vehicle was taken to the mechanoc for diagnostic. Codes appeared for timing chains and camshaft. Also z.

There are 7 recalls on this vehicle and the mechanic verifies that none of the recalls have been performed.

Car doesn't want to start right away. Almost like it isn't getting gas right away. Have to push gas pedal to get it to "rev" up. Will idle funny when at stops.

While car was running it started jerking and it would not go faster than 20mph. When car came to a stop it turned off. When starting the car before it starts running it would jerk again and slowing go up to max 30mph.

Was driving to work when my car sputtered then shut off,I didn't have a code or warning on the dash I had 30 percent oil left and 2000 miles before next oil change. Had it towed to a Cadillac dealership and they found the engine is seized, after opening up the engine there was sludge. It only has 61,000 miles and I have all the paperwork where all oil changes were done on time. Extended warranty CO. Won't cover sludge. I had read online that this is a common problem, gm need to recall these engines, this is a $10,000 defect. I have only owned this car 10 months.
