I just bought this vehicle two days ago and now realized it loses power while driving (in-motion) and then jumps as if it wants to cut off. At the time, I was driving on a city street and as I tried to accelerate, the problem occurred. This is very dangerous and scary because it can cause a crash or cause other cars to rear-end it. Also, it says airbag needs servicing.

Takata recall about 2 weeks ago, I notice while driving that I'm loosing the acceleration. The front gausr of rpm is not consistent. We can feel the engine is having trouble going forwrd evry time I punch in the gas pedal. My passanger and I can feel the acceleration bit chocking. So, I brought it some mechanics & they says possible time chain problem. They diagnose the car and here some of the code came out. P0011, p0014, p0016, p0018, p0021. At first, they thought of changing the camshaft sensors and crankshaft sensors maybe it would resolve the problem but it didn't. They suggest to call the Cadillac dealer possible for recalls. I drive my car daily to work, from merced to lathrop, that's about 120 miles back and fort. I used to drive my car from merced to frement from the past 4years everyday but I got tranfer to lathrop about 2 years now.

The contact owns a 2010 Cadillac Srx. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would independently downshift without warning. After a few minutes, the contact would be able to resume normal driving upon restart. The contact called a dealer about the failure and was informed that unless a warning light was illuminated on the instrument panel, they could not diagnose the failure. Recently, the contact stated that while driving out of a parking lot, the vehicle would not shift out of first gear with the check engine warning light illuminated. After, calling her husband for assistance, her husband was able to restart the vehicle and the vehicle resumed normal operation. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown. The VIN was not available.
Tl the contact owns a 2010 Cadillac Srx. While driving 55 mph, the engine decelerated and the vehicle stopped without warning. The vehicle was able to restarted and the check engine and stabilitrak indicators illuminated. The contact called crest Cadillac (2367 s tamiami trail, venice, FL 34293, (941) 584-8540), but they could not assist. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and they provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 125,000.
Driving straight down a two lane road immediately started losing power. The tc light and engine light came on and stayed on. Also, the stability system check came on. Try to reset but tested it according to manual and as backing out of driveway the lights come back on and stay on. Purchased vehicle in April 2017 and one thing after another seems to happen. How do I know recalls have been fixed? when on look up on NHTSA shows there are no unfixed recalls but I believe they've never been fixed. Also, after rainy days if you lift up tailgate water comes pouring out.

Tl the contact owns a 2010 Cadillac Srx. While the vehicle was stationary at a traffic light, it hesitated to respond when the accelerator pedal was depressed. Also, the check engine indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to ken batchelor Cadillac (11001 I-10, san antonio, TX 78230, (210) 690-0700) where it was diagnosed that the timing chain needed to be replaced a second time. The contact mentioned that the timing chain was previously replaced at 99,000 miles. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact to submit a complaint. The failure mileage was 170,000.
Timing chain!!!! only had this truck under 2 years 2010 Cadillac Srx I go to the mechanic shop he tells me it's a crank shaft sensor he fixes it engine light still on he does some more checking then boom!!! it's the timing chain when big things like this go wrong it should definitely not be out of the purchasers pocket it should be out of the manufacturers pocket this is ridiculous especially when your still paying on the vehicle I'll never in my life own a Cadillac again or anything made by this company.
I have had an issue with the timing chain twice on this vehicle. The first instance was in sept. 2017 when the vehicle had 84k miles. Gm assisted with the cost of the repair. Less than 20k miles later and a year later, the same problem has occurred. The dealership let me know this was a known factory issue. Gm is not accepting responsibility. This is absurd the gm aid not recognizing this as an issue and issuing a recall.

About a year or so ago while exiting off the highway my car started losing powered and while foot on gas pedal, gas pedal stopped working and merged to the side of the road before shutting off completely, called tow truck and ever since my car loses power when driving put the car in shop and they say it's the time chain/ time change gazer!.
Purchased 11/16 with 62k miles, 12/16 replaced high pressure steering line, 5/18 replaced all timing chains, 1/19 replaced steering cooler. 2-weeks later lower end rod knock-connecting rod bearing(s) bad. No warning, no sounds and the oil was changed same time as steering cooler replaced. No notice of shavings in oil. Oil has been changed every 3-5000 miles. All service performed at Cadillac dealership. $8999 to replace engine. Kbb car trade in value $7300, now $1000 from dealership. At 60 I've owned a lot of automobiles, several Cadillac's among them and take excellent care of them. I have a pickup with 243k just to show how well I take care of them. This out of the blue blown connecting rod bearings is highly suspect. Especially just having had the dealer perform an oil change. If the bearings were going bad there would have been shavings in the oil, and would have been obvious. Side note. When I checked the codes before being towed to the dealership it had a p0017 crankshaft sensor. Same code when I had to replace the timing chains.
Tl the contact owns a 2012 Cadillac Srx. While driving 40 mph, the check engine indicator illuminated and the vehicle's speed decelerated. The vehicle was towed to bud davis Cadillac inc. (5433 poplar Ave, memphis, TN 38119, (901) 881-0177) where the contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 146,000.

Two incidents that endangered my life as well as others. Vehicle with 26,000 miles driving on interstate at 65 to 70 mph all of a sudden vehicle stops computer says engine power reduced traffic behind was lucky able to avoid hitting me. Second incident last week on interstate traffic all stopped due to construction I have little to no brakes fortunately I was able to swerve off to my right situation very very dangerous.
When driving the acceleration is slow to pick up. The engine light came on and when I took it to get check the code p0008 came up. That's when you have an issue with the engine module detecting a problem with the timing between the crankshaft and bank 1 crankshaft.

My service light came on and the dealer said its code is poo17. The informed me their might be a recall so I am checking to see he said Cadillac did have one for 2004-2009.
My timing chain failed at 70,000ml, there is a sb-10043857-3386 bulletin no:11340b :date:July 2012 that should cover my vehicle for free timing chain replacement. Gm does not want to honor the repair even though they have issued this sb. Please help. My vehicle is manufactured in 2009 in mexico (date on door tag) and it should be part of this recall. Please help.

The vehicle switches to stabilitrac and abs at the same time causing the engine to not shift into the next gear. This causes the transmission to be over ram and I have to stop the vehicle completely and put it into sport mode and manually shift the gears in order for it to shift gears. The vehicle is in motion at the time of transmission not shifting correctly into the next rpm.
Rakata recall. I was driving on interstate. Car shifted down and would not shift to higher gear for speed traveling causing 8000 rpm that resulted in engine blow. Smoke everywhere. Car was towed. I need a new engine due to transmission shifting down plus whatever happened with transmission.
The timing chain loosens and causes the engine to fail. Average cost of this repair is $2,100 at 88,000 miles. This is a known issue for this engine and previous years were recalled for the same issue.
We were told the timing chain needed repair at 3 weeks outside of the factory 5 year warranty, at the time the vehicle only had 52,000 miles. We produced service records as they asked but the warranty department a Cadillac ultimately offered us no help and we had to pay $2100 for the repair. We checked online prior to this and found numerous posts, and some recalls for this exact problem as it is extremely common on these vehicles and obviously a design/manufacturing issue. There probably should have been a recall, and again Cadillac assumed no monetary responsibility.
takata recall when I was driving my dash, stereo and lights started to flicker and all the electrical components were not working. Then. I tried changing lanes on the interstate to exit but lost power steering. It was very dangerous at those high speed!. I was able to pull off before my car completely died. . It took a while for it to turn back on but once it did the car was not working properly, such as the temp and gas gauge, traction control was not working and light was lit on dash. Power steering wasn't working, and the transmission was shifting weird. I took it in to the gm dealership and was told it was the ecm that went bad and it wasn't communicating with the rest of the vehicle properly. It was about 900$ in total with the towing and diagnose and fix. It was fixed but exactly 6 months later it happened again while driving, I had to pull over. Went back and had to pay like 400$ more to get it fixed again and that only lasted 1 month. So now we took it to the Cadillac dealership and they looked at it and coukdnt tell me why it was happing other then they think it was the ecm replacement that were bad. So now I will have to pay 950$ for that stealership for the diagnosis and to replace the ecm. With them they said they had a lifetime warranty on parts and labor with is why we went there. But still all that money paid for a default of Cadillac. They need to recall it.
-I was traveling south on fm , miles north of miami, TX when a deer ran out in front of me. I struck it front center and onstar immediately called for emergency services. First thing I noticed was one of the air bags deployed and after pulling of the road and coming to a stop, I noticed a fire from the passenger side of the engine compartment. I exited the vehicle and still on the phone with onstar, my car fully engulfed within 15 minutes. The fire department was on site after the car was fully engulfed and took an hour to put out the flames. My car was a total loss. No one knows why it caught fire, what caused it.

I purchased a 2013 Srx used in January of 2017 and on several occasions today being the latest, after coming to a complete stop at 4-way intersections, when I try to press the gas pedal and move into the intersection the car coasts without power and leaves me stranded for a few seconds. With the gas pedal pressed all the way to the floor the vehicle all of a sudden bolts forward causing the vehicle "peel out". Being stranded in the intersection is scary and I am afraid I will be hit. This is a safety concern, but it does not happen on a consistent basis for the dealership to locate the problem. I see on the internet several other concerns that sound very similar to this.
The contact owns a 2014 Cadillac Srx. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the accelerator pedal was giving off excessive heat. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The local dealer was contacted and informed her that the vehicle was performing normally. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 4,000.
When I'm parking I get message telling me it is not in park, although I put it in park. I have to do it two or three times for it to get right. I put it in park and it tells me its not in park.
Front suspension required replacement due to excessive wear on the control arms. Code p0017 generated by computer indicating need to replace timing chain. Vehicle currently at 90,000 miles.
The contact owns a 2006 Cadillac Srx. While stationary, the vehicle's motor failed to stop running after the vehicle was shut off. Directly after the air conditioning unit was shut off along with the vehicle, there was a noise that came from under the hood that seemed to be coming from a secondary motor within the engine. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000. The VIN was not available.
While driving on the highway, the stabilitrak and check engine warning indicator lights come on. Next a warning reads, "engine running at reduced power" and the car slows down. When I cut the car off and restart, the warning indicator lights reset and the car will drive normal.
My car was in line for a car wash at val ward Cadillac parking lot. My electronic brake was on. The brake light on the dashboard indicated this. The car was in drive but stationary for approx two minutes. The car suddenly surged forward. I thought my car was hit in the back. I didn't understand why the car surged forward. My car hit the car in front of me. After the accident, the cars were separated by val ward personnel. They had to release my electronic brake in order to move my car. Per Cadillac, if electronic brake is engaged, it will release when gas pedal pressure is applied. My feet were on the floor of car when surge occurred. I did not touch the gas pedal. Conveniently, the accident occurred right in front of the val ward Cadillac body shop office. As far as I know the car was not towed, but pushed into repair shop. I will never use that electronic brake again. This should be a warning to electronic brake users. 7 mph listed below is a guess, as I went from stopped in line to surging forward. Mileage listed is approximate as Cadillac service records 9 days prior reflect 11,134 mi.

The contact owns a 2010 Cadillac Srx. While driving various speeds, the timing chain failed and detached from the engine. The contact stated that the vehicle began to jerk back and forth from the rear when the brake pedal was depressed. In addition, the "service rear axle" warning indicator illuminated. Ryan Chevrolet, located at 1800 south broadway, minot, north dakota 58701, diagnosed that the rear axle and the timing chain needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 87,100.
The 3 to 4 second lag in acceleration has returned. Dealer will do nothing because there is not another recall.
Takata recall I have a Cadillac Srx 2006 with very low mileage and there is definitely an issue with the timing chain setup as well as the vehicles head lighting errors, from my research this is definitely a fault from the company design and could have caused injury or even death.
