2006 Cadillac Srx turn signals burn out within months or replacement. I made 2 videos of me fixing it, put on youtube with over 35, 000 views. That must mean there are lots of folks with this problem that don't know where to report it. While driving, the indicator flashes a bit faster than it should - the only clue it isn't working. You think other drivers know your intentions and they don't. This is dangerous. Mechanics have to pull the bumper, a bit of work, and want over $300 to change the bulb. Over and over again. This is the 5th time in 3 years. 2nd problem is the "stability system" - well, I'm not driving on ice, have never needed such a thing. This one nearly cause me to crash into a curb or parked car as I was making a left hand turn in our residential neighborhood at what 15 mph? suddenly the wheel locked, tires locked and sent me screeching dangerously close to that parked car. It does have a warning, "service stability system" but the dealer will want a lot for that, too. So I've resorted to pushing the disable button on the console until it says, "stability system off" then I can drive safely. I have not had this inspected. Everything that gets fixed on this Cadillac seems to break again.

Ref: NHTSA campaign #: 14v571000 - my VIN does not come up as affected by this recall. However, on 2/10/2020, driving 35 mph on town streets, the car was a little different to control (almost 'lighter'). After my stop, I restarted the car, turned a corner and found it nearly impossible to stay in my own lane. Even after slowing to 20 mph and fighting to control the car, it felt like the rear of my car was dragging me in to the right lane after parking, I noticed my rear passenger side tire was at an angle of about 30-45 degrees from the rest of the car. I had the car towed to my repair garage. They showed us the toe nut (jam nut?) under the rear suspension , had approximately 1/2" before it could came off completely. Before agreeing to the repairs we called the local Cadillac dealership. They did not ask for a VIN, but informed us that the "recall had been closed" for this item so we were on our own for repairs.

Headlights are very dim, it is very hard to see the road at night. While turning the steering wheel the car makes noise. While putting car in park shifter does not go all the way in to p mode , can't turn off the engine a lot of times.

The stability system engages and disengages on its own. I have seen several fourms and reports as to people having the same issue . Happens at least 1 time a day but usually several times a day. When you are driving down the road (which is the only time it physically engages it) the stability system warning like comes on and says to service stability system and the system will engage on it's own. This is extremely dangerous as when this happens the car applys the brakes on it's own and they get alot of vibrations and it pushes the car left or right from the front end , almost got into a wreck and would love for a recall to me published for this because this is a serious safety concern .

I'm writing to you about an incident that took place on may 18, 2019. My husband and I were traveling home in our Cadillac Srx at about 6:00 pm our car suddenly spun out of control as we heard a bang, throwing us across three lanes listening to cars screeching all around us on the NJ turnpike, we then hit into the side of a tractor trailer, pushing us back again across the three lanes until we finally stopped in the far left lane. Our insurance company has come to the conclusion that this was a faulty issue with the vehicle. To be exact it was the rear toe link adjuster lock nut torque. The next day I called my family to tell them what had happened. About two hours later my sister called me back and said �there is a recall on your vehicle model. It involves the rear suspension. � (bulletin 14457c; rear toe link adjuster lock nut torque) she gave me the website where you can enter your VIN # and check to see if the vehicle was part of the recall. Our vehicle was not on the recall list. I checked again and again. I checked my paperwork from when I purchased the vehicle (used but certified, off of a lease) and the carfax. No recall. After having the insurance company inspect the vehicle, they, in fact, stated that the accident was caused by the rear suspension (rear toe link adjuster).

Car veered to the right into the guardrail then loss of control of steering, car spun around twice and landed in opposite guardrail facing traffic with left rear tire facing away from the car. We were driving at the time on a highway.

Tl the contact owns a 2010 Cadillac Srx. An intermittent noise was heard while turning the steering wheel in either direction. The failure occurred most often while operating the vehicle in cold temperatures. Cable dahmer Cadillac of kansas city (1151 w 104th st, kansas city, mo 64114, (855) 420-1315) was been unable to duplicate and diagnose the failure. The contact was notified of the failure on several occasions. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 56,000.

At night I can't see out my window it's very dark and my headlights are very dim making it very hard to see at night. I have to put my high beams on to see. Also my strong is hard to turn when I'm trying to reverse or park but sometimes it's fine like their isn't anything wrong and when I'm when I'm driving it's fine. My horn and everything on my steering wheel stopped working all of a sudden. I went to my car in the morning to turn it on and my heated steering wouldn't work the cruise control no buttons worked plus my horn. On top of that I had my car re alligned because it kept feeling wobbly and it didn't work.

Car in motion at 23mph tried to navigate a right hand curve in road, steering was normal and then all the sudden steering caught and wouldn't let me navigate the rest of the right hand turn. Brought car to a complete stop and tried to put car in motion by pressing gas, steering was perfectly fine. This is the second time this has happened in two short weeks.

System stability issues and it jerks my left rear out of wack when driving my 2004 Srx Cadillac I have small infants and I bought this car from dealership a few months ago and I beleive it is a gm recall according to other sites. I don't know what to do it scares me that I'm gonna lose control every time I drive it because its getting worse and I spent all the money I had saved so my wife could have her Cadillac.

When you go through a puddle the steering locks up and you can't move for about 15 20 seconds this causes you to panic and is dangerous cause you can't straight out the wheel.

I was driving my vehicle once again, and the engine reduced power came up on the screen. This happened once on the freeway driving 70 miles per, the vehicle's speed went down all the way to 20 miles per hour, I had to pull over because it lost power then it shut off. This is very dangerous I could have been seriously hurt or another vehicle could hit me across the freeway. This also happened November 3, 2017, as I was rolling out of the driveway the vehicle cut off in motion. Something is wrong with this vehicle losing power without no notification to the driver until it happens. This needs to be recalled for these 2004 Srx Cadillac vehicles. Also the screens constantly says check stability system, or reduced engine power and traction control. Please this has to be a recall before someone gets killed.

My 05 Cadillac Srx have a serious safety issue in the frame where as a metal pice on left and right front have rotted all the way through. I have pictures of the problem. I need someone to help me because no car should have this proble with only 80 thousand miles on it. How can I send the picture to.

2004 Srx stability sys ready comes on and the steering pulls left or right abs light , brake light , comes on no one seems to know what it is or what to do help.

I drove the vehicle, parked, and I noticed the engine fan didnt turn off in a reasonable amount of time after parked (over 2 hours). I drove to the dealer only for them to refuse to run a simple diagnostic. Was driving and vehicle being accelerating even after I completely removed me feet; I also looked down witnessed the pedal modulating itself in and out, shortly followed by an abrupt braking incident. I was just able to restart and pull over to emergency stop. I hadnt gotten far from the dealer, so after two hours of waiting for a tow truck, I attempted to drive the truck back to the dealer only to have the same violent braking but this time also followed by a sporadic loss of power steering. I was able to creep the vehicle back to the dealer and control any losses of control, it felt like the vehicle was having a seizure. Please investigate my stall, unintended braking, power steering loss, and fan (I imagine this could be a fire issue as well). Thank you.

The contact owns a 2006 Cadillac Srx. While accelerating from a stop at approximately 5 mph, the "traction control engaged " warning message appeared. The vehicle independently went into four wheel drive mode and would not accelerate. It felt as if the anti-lock brake was engaged. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was driven to a mechanic and the steering angle position sensor was replaced, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

The contact owns a 2005 Cadillac Srx. After purchasing the vehicle from an independent dealer, the contact took the vehicle to a certified Ford dealer. The technician diagnosed that the engine light was illuminated and the drive shaft couplers, power steering, front wheel bearing, and motor mounts were all defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was returned to the independent dealer who refused to repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 109,916.

My car was t-boned while being serviced at gold coast Cadillac in oakhurst, new jersey on February 4,2016. The car was was sent to freehold collision to be repaired at a cost of $11,622. 15. The car was not repaired correctly. The gas cap is loose and the rear door is misaligned. The car isn't safe to drive. But yet the dealership forged my signature on the documents the repairs were satisfactory to my liking and I accepted the car back. That is not true.

Freehold collision repaired my 2012 Cadillac Srx after being sent to them from gold coast Cadillac in oakhurst. New jersey on February 4,2016. They forged my name on repair paperwork stating that I accepted the car back and was satisfied with the repairs. This is not true.

The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission causing the gear shift to failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 77,600. Aw.

Driving and making a turn when my steering wheel and brakes locked up.

Our Cadillac Srx suddenly veered off the road when driving 55mph on a straight level road. The vehicle left the road hitting a tree and only the driver's airbag deployed even though it was an offset frontal collision. The car had all recalled items already fixed by gm dealers before the crash occurred. The vehicle was a total loss.

2011 Cadillac Srx with 20,000 miles on it had the entire wheel hub come apart. Bolts fell out and the remaining bolts were all loosened. This problem ruined the caliper and brakes. I was lucky that I was not driving on the highway very often as I could have had a very serious crash.

Brought my 2010 Cadillac Srx to king o'rourke Cadillac in smithtown, NY on Jan 13,2015 for recall issue concerning the rear toe link, gm recall #14557. Car was there 2 days taking care of 4 recall issues. About 4 weeks and roughly 1000 miles later, on Friday February 20, 2015, I used the vehicle to go to the doctors and noticed no problems on the way. My 7yr old son was with me. From the doctors I proceeded to my hairdresser, still no issues. At some point on the way home after leaving the hairdresser, I noticed that the car felt abnormally "floaty" and was swaying over bumps. I stopped at a 7-11 on hospital road and nys rt 27 in east patchogue where I attempted to inspect what I could on the vehicle, mostly the condition of the tires. I then left 7-11 and proceeded to enter the on ramp for nys rt27 east. As I accelerated in the on ramp, the vehicle started swaying more. After that I heard a metallic sound and the rear of the car started to jackknife. I was able to slow down and a police officer entering the highway behind me stopped to offer aid. After a quick look, he stated that the car had a broken axle. He left since I had already contacted my husband and he was on his way. My husband arrived shorty thereafter and informed me that he called for a tow truck. While waiting for roadside service to arrive he also inspected the vehicle and also took photos. He said the right rear toe link, which was supposed to have been inspected and replaced as necessary as per the recall notice at king o'rourke 4 weeks earlier had separated. He also indicated that the links were not replaced and failed due to damaged threading. This was confirmed by the mechanic that towed the car to my home. While gm corporate is trying to be helpful in this situation, kathy at king o'rourke is claiming they are not responsible saying "as the second owner of the car I cannot expect a new part. ".

Car rapidly speed up at full and little time after that heard loud noise in back as driving . Today took to mechanic and didnt even get power starteing up and then speed up agian at full stop and started smking to. Said power streeting went out thought it was that got almost home problem still occurred so did some research and found this recall .

The contact stated that while driving approximately 15 mph when the heater was turned on a whistling noise started and a burning odor was flowing from the vents, immediately after that the steering ability of the vehicle seized. The vehicle was left parked and has not been repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000. Bp.

The contact owns a 2006 Cadillac Srx. While driving 5 mph, the engine stalled and the steering wheel became difficult to turn. As a result, the contact drove onto a curb. The contact later observed slight damage to the under carriage and heard a rattling sound. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 77,000.

The dealership in my city ran out of parts to repair my vehicle they were sent only a few so we all on a waiting list for ??????.

The contact owns a 2005 Cadillac Srx. While driving 60 mph, the steering wheel seized without warning. The vehicle stalled and did not restart. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The failure mileage was 115,000.

I pulled out of a parking spot and then suddenly my car jolted to a stop. I had heard a snapping noise and the car wouldn't move forward or backwards. I looked at my tire only to find it was bowed in towards my car instead of away from it since the wheel should have been turned away from the car. Upon further review the tire rod had snapped. If the tire rod could easily snap as I was simply pulling out of a parking spot then it could have easily snapped while on the highway which would have resulted in injuries to myself and my child.

Turn signal - high beams components. High beams actvates at anytime while driving and when the turn signals are used( lelt or right ). Was pulled over in a speed trap, giving a warning for empeading police duties. I purchased a turn signal repacement, can't find anyone to install it.
