Today, I paid $1789. 01 at ron carter Cadillac dealership, friendswood, TX, to replace two headlamps on my 2015 Cadillac Srx. Several months ago, I notified the dealership that lights were so dim on car that I could barely see at night. It pained me to pay for this, especially when I found out it has been an ongong problem and no recall has been issued. I expected better quality from Cadillac.

Headlights extremely dim cannot drive at night.
The head lamps do not provide enough light to see objects on the road. There are hundreds on complaints from other Srx owners on social media and on driving test. Org. The low beams on this car as so dim that you cannot drive it safely at night. Cadillac refuses to accept there is an issue. Multiple class action lawsuits have been launched and this same complaint is all over the internet. I can't understand why nhsta hasn't looked into this problem since it presents dangerous situation and affects multiple Cadillac models from 2010 to 2015. Problem continues to worsen as the car ages. Please look into the obvious safety hazard.

I have noticed excessive water droplets in headlights it's so bad visibility is a safety concern at night because you can see headlights don't even look like there on. I have to use high beams which puts others lives in danger due to being blinded by the bright lights that can lead into more crashes.

My low beam headlights are extremely dim. Upon diagnosis, there is nothing wrong with the wiring or the bulbs but there is a defect with the headlights on the 2010 to 2015 Cadillac Srx's. It was explained to me that the seal fails and allows moisture in the headlight which causes a haze to build up in the enclosed light cover which in turn makes the lights dim. I have been unable to drive my vehicle at night because I can't even tell that the lights are on especially on a dark street or highway. When I did some research and spoke with GMC/Cadillac I found that GMC/Cadillac has a recall on the headlight assembly in two states only-California and florida even though the problem is more than likely nationwide. There is also a class action lawsuit against Cadillac/GMC for this defect.

Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Cadillac Srx. The contact stated that the head light did not work. The contact used the high beam to drive at night. The vehicle was taken to the fields Cadillac st. Augustine dealer (904-823-3000, located at 375 outlet mall blvd, st augustine, FL 32084) where it diagnosed that the electrical component was faulty and that the head light component needed to be replaced. The technician stated that there was no recall "because the vehicle was manufactured in new york". The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and told the contact to take the vehicle back to the dealer for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000. Fe.
The lights on my Cadillac Srx is almost nonexistent. I am not able to drive my car at night because I have no low beams!! the dealership told me it would be 1800. 00 to replace them but they will be replacing them with the same kind I have in there so in 4 years I will be paying another 1800. 00. Gm knows of the problem but will do nothing about it.
I purchased a used 2015 Srx Cadillac in 2017 with 26,000 miles on it. Progressively the headlamps (low beam) have gotten dimmer and dimmer to the point that I am now having to drive my car with the high beams on because I cannot see the road in front of my vehicle. The car is 4 yrs old now and has 70,000 miles. I travel frequently at night and I do not feel safe in this car now. If a person were walking along the road or a deer were to run in front of my vehicle even at an adequate distance for any other car I have ever driven, I would not see it in time to avoid an accident. I also fear running off the road because I can barely see the lines. I have contacted my dealer, and am waiting for a response. I have done a lot of research on this issue and many people are reporting this same issue with the Srx models 2010-2016. They report issues on forums and some have even experienced rollovers and ending up in ditches due to limited visibility at night. Many older people drive Cadillacs and they have even had their dealership question their eyesight. There has been a class action suit about this issue, but apparently it has been dropped in all states but FL and CA. I work for a major truck manufacturer and I know that you are the government agency to involve on such serious safety issues as this. I hope that you will look into this issue as many forums have reports of people saying gm is up for a suit if they end up having a fatal crash from the dim lighting. I have also read that gm refuses to acknowledge the issue. Even when the headlamps are replaced by the dealer, the issue is reported to return. I doubt the headlamp quality issue has ever been addressed with any kind of modification to resolve the issue by gm. . Read more...

We notice our highlights was very dim for months I called the Cadillac dealership in fort walton beach florida and spoke to someone in their service department, that service person claimed he knew nothing about a recall on the headlights then when I told him there is a class actions lawsuit on the headlights problem he put me on hold then when he got back on the line he knew about the problem and told me to bring in my Cadillac and they would work out something March 7, 2019 we took our Cadillac to Cadillac dealership in fort walton beach we spoke with nick in their service department he told us there was a block on the warranty for the headlights issued that Monday, March 4, 2019. And they didn't know why. Our Cadillac is still under the bumper to bumper warranty until April 2019 next month! but nick said there isn't anything they can do and he will try and find out why there was a block placed on the headlights. Monday, March 4, 2019. We was given the report called workbench we spoke with nick March 8, 2019 david a manager at Cadillac fort walton beach called us and said he received a letter from gm that they would pay up to sixteen hundred dollars ($1,600) but we would have to pay for the repairs out of our pocket then would be reimbursed but because there is a block on it they can't do that either and his regional manager and a district manager are looking into why there is a block on the headlights repairs. On Monday, March 11, 2019 david said he would email us a copy of the letter which has the information about the pay upfront sixteen hundred dollars ($1,600) for our records because we never received that letter or any information about the faulty headlights. At this time we have not been given any indication the problem will be fixed!.

Takata recall-the headlights are very dim. You have turn on the brights in order to see in normal night vision areas. While bright is too bright to drive for on coming traffic. I almost had an accident of running off the road due to not being able to see the lane or the people walking along side the road. I can't believe there hasn't been a recall for this danger. I have only had the car 2yrs.

Front lights are not strongly lit at times. Especially when it is extremely dark out side. When it is not so dark outside the lights work perfect. In extreme dark nights must use the high beams to be able to see the roads.
At night I can't see out my window it's very dark and my headlights are very dim making it very hard to see at night. I have to put my high beams on to see. Also my strong is hard to turn when I'm trying to reverse or park but sometimes it's fine like their isn't anything wrong and when I'm when I'm driving it's fine. My horn and everything on my steering wheel stopped working all of a sudden. I went to my car in the morning to turn it on and my heated steering wouldn't work the cruise control no buttons worked plus my horn. On top of that I had my car re alligned because it kept feeling wobbly and it didn't work.

The headlights on my Cadillac Srx are not bright enough at night to see the road clearly and I have been told by my husband when he was driving in front of me that my headlights were substantially dimmer on my car than the other vehicles on the road.
Headlights are so dim its very dangerous to drive vehicle when is dark.
The low beam (dim lights) are horrible. I almost hit a man walking on the side of the road last night. You cannot see 30' in front of the vehicle when lights are on dim. You have to drive with the high beams on. The high beam works great, but vehicles coming at you are getting blinded by your high beams. You switch to low beam, then you cannot see! I have seen all the complaints on the internet. I cannot believe this issue hasn't been recalled. Shame on the government for not fixing this safety issue.
Low beam headlights, illuminate at dangerously low levels. It makes it very hard to drive at night making very dangerous driving conditions. To see at night, I often have to drive with my high beams on, which is very dangerous for oncoming traffic.
The Srx has an extremely well-known issue for which gm has ignored. My car is only six years old and the headlights became so dim - I would often check to see if they were even on. It got so bad, the car couldn't be driven at night. There are multiple complaints of this same issue and the only way to fix it is to pay gm over $1,000 to replace them. There needs to be a recall before someone that can't afford the repair is killed or kills someone. I've contacted Cadillac a number of times and I keep getting canned responses. The last reply was, "ms. Matchus, motor vehicle recalls are released when the vehicle or an item in the vehicle's equipment does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard; or when there is a safety-related defect present in the vehicle or equipment. Federal motor vehicle safety standards set minimum performance levels for those parts of the vehicle which may affect its safe operation (brakes, tires, lighting, etc) or those which protect drivers and passengers from death or serious injury in the event of a crash. " I would say for certain that the well-known issue with headlights being so dim they appear to not even be on would fall under the " safety-related defect present in the vehicle or equipment. " if the dealership I went to openly said they had already done three vehicles before me for the same issue in the past 48 hours, that seems like enough push for a recall. Not to mention the large number of people that have reported the headlight issue online. Please advocate for a recall of this. . Read more...
Headlights are so dim, you can not see at night at all. Its very dangerous to drive at night in this car. There has to be a resolution to this.
Headlights going dim. I replaced the bulbs (both) in January of this year as my headlights were to dim to drive at night. Now 8 months later I am having the same issue. I noticed condensation inside the glass. Since then I have r ached and found this is not only a dangerous issue but a substantial issue with this make and year. I feel betrayed by my dealer as they know very well the issue. Manu class action lawsuits have been filed. I truly love my Cadillac and would purchase another. But that will remain to be seen as to how this issue is handled.

The contact was driving about 65 mph at the time. The vehicle was taken to the flow Cadillac dealer (336-760-7000, located at 1400 s stratford rd, winston-salem, nc 27103) where the head light assembly was replaced. Low beam headlights do not provide adequate lighting at night. You cannot see 30 feet in front of the car on a dark road. I have been told by mechanics that there is nothing they can do to guarantee improvement. This is both gm mechanics and independent. Not being able to see when you are driving at night is not only dangerous to me but also to oncoming drivers as I have to use my bright lights to see where I am going and consequently create glare for the oncoming cars. I feel that Cadillac has a responsibility to provide safety when they sell a product. Please recall the car and resolve this problem. I am planning to keep this car for more than four more years and dont want to have a safety problem to try to work around. I have owned the car from new in 2012 and use it everyday. It has been, and is, maintained by gm. Dealers .
Visibility when on my way to work on the highway at night my low beams are so dim that I can't see the road, I have a 2011 Srx, this is horrible.
When driving at night and you are using low beam head lights because of traffic the head lights do not put out enough light to see the road. Many other owners of these cars have the same problem. The low beam head light is way to dim and not much brighter the the day time driving lights. When comparing this model car to others side by side on low beam this model is less than half as bright as the other models on low beams. Cadillac and the local dealer say nothing can be done for improvement. This is a major safety issue.
My Cadillac Srx model year 2013 is equipped with faulty headlights that are so dim I can not see the lines on the side of the road. On back roads you can't see nothings to separate the road from the land. I am afraid to drive at night. I have just missed several accidents. I have a great extended warranty thru 2022, but they will not cover because of gm stance. Warranty solutions gm has failed to properly address this issue with notification to current and prospective Cadillac owners. The company has also allegedly failed to offer a fix for the defect under its own bumper-to-bumper warranty. A recall would be too expensive. Common to other gm models. There are currently 2 class action law suits florida and California. Help! ronald delama 4102 alafia blvd brandon , FL 33511 remax2000@verizon. Net (813) 263-8353.
Low beam headlights are so dim that visibility at night is very low and dangerous to drive. New replaced parts result in same problem within few months and customer has to pay for replacements. Paying for it since Aug 2018 and problem still exists.
