Front Seat Belt Warning Light Problems of Chevrolet Astro

Vehicle description: Mini vans. Some of these vehicles fail to comply with requirements of fmvss no. 208, "occupant crash protection. " the "fasten safety-belt" audible warning occasionally may not come on or may terminate in less than four seconds as required by the standard. Consumer has the same problem. A recall has been issued on similar makes and models, however this vehicle not included due to the VIN.

Consumer had recall 01v123000 "audible warning" remedied on 6/13/03. A few days later he began experiencing problems with vehicle's electrical system. When the interior cabin light was turned on the radio would come on instead. Also, when attempting to adjust power windows, the vehicle's alarm would engage. Vehicle is currently being checked by dealer.

Recall #01v123000/ manufacturer's recall 00v023000; got recall and took vehicle to dealer. Also, dealer could not accomodate consumer in a reasonable time. Consumer had to wait 1 hour for a 15 minute job.
