Takata recall I have called the local Chevrolet dealerships numerous times inquiring about the recall and trying to get the problem serviced. They keep telling me that gm hasn't made a decision on what to do yet. This is unacceptable! it is very dangerous to have possible faulty air bags.

Dealer phillips chevy in frankfort IL refused to replace because no recall from gm has been issued. Also called gm corp. They also said no recall. They said that the front right passenger should sit in the back versus the front seat to eliminate any injury. This is ridiculous, why have the vechile.

Takata recall after getting 2nd airbag recall notice saying to contact dealership to set up an appointment to have airbag replaced at no charge the dealership tells me that gm is not doing replacements. My 1st notice came in July 2016 stating telling of the recall but stating not to contact the dealership that I would hear from them later. My next notice came from takata today ( 10/24/2017 ) telling me to contact the dealership and set up the appointment to have the airbags replaced @ no charge to me but I was told gm has not given them approval for the replacement because they do not have replacements, so what do I do now.

Though I have not had an accident in which the airbags have deployed, I know the airbags have been recalled and it concerns me to drive the vehicle. My dealership mentions they can do nothing and at this point and currently there's a crack around the passenger airbag area of my vehicle. Docket id NHTSA-2016-0124 documents the back and forth between gm and the agency during the past two years. The uncertainty of whether or not my truck may kill me because of an unresolved safety issue is beyond concerning. How much longer do owners of the affected vehicles need to wait before action is taken to protect the driver's life and restore confidence in the safety of these gm vehicles? gm owner's luck and patience have been tested beyond reasonable measure.

I own a 2008 chevy Avalanche that has the dashboard cracking by the airbag and above the dashboard cluster which is going to resul in someone getting seriously injured or even lost of a life (deaf). While driving on a rough road a section of the dash broke from being cracked striking me in my face next to my left eye. If not have reacted in urgent moment the dashboard piece that broke from the dash would have struck me in the eye and could have caused me to loose my eye. I contacted gm coporate office about the problem and was told not there problem. U guys really need to recall this defect urgent as possible because the next owner with a cracked dashboard might not be as lucky as I where may loose there eye or even there life. It's a shame that gm don't care n it seems after looking at all the complaints that's been received here NHTSA doesn't care if someone get seriously injured or lost of life either. So much for our government.

I have also called the local Chevrolet dealership to try to schedule recall repair work and they also told me that no remedy is available. It is of great concern to me that this defect, which has proven fatal to some drivers, is not being repaired in a timely manner. I implore the NHTSA to take swift and decisive action to remedy this situation (or make a determination that replacement is not necessary).
