After a couple of years my vehicle developed several cracks in the dash, especially around the airbag. Yesterday I had the airbag recall performed. As a result of the repair, the cracks are now broken pieces. I now fear that in the event of an airbag deployment, shards of sharp plastic will be thrown into the air and could potentially result in severe injury.
Dashboard is severely cracked. Exterior door handles not secured to unit.

The dash is cracked at multiple places including up to the airbag. I was told by the people who repairs windshield that this is a know problem for Avalanche, silverado suburban. This is clearly a manufacturer defect and should be a recall they are quoting me a $1497 repair fee to replace the dash at the dealer. I contacted Chevrolet for assistance. They offered a $130 good will. . . .

Multiple cracks to instrument panel, and dash part adjacent to windshield. Crack next to passenger side airbag, and directly over driver instrument cluster. Rear dash panel has multiple cracks. Most of the clips holding down the panel have broken along the seam causing it to bounce and rattle.
Recently purchased vehicle from a local dealer. Didn't notice at the time that the dashboard was cracked. It's a continuous rattle now that appears to be getting larger.
My transmission when taking off fast sound like it's in neutral and then when I let off the fast it goes in gear. Also my dash board is cracking and found be a serious airbag issue. I've seen hundreds of complaints about this and a recall hasn't been issued. The recall needs to be issued so I could be fixed ASAP. This is a serious hazard. !!!.

Dashboard is cracking. Could result in plastic separating in accident on deployment of air bags.
The interior dash components have cracking problems. My truck now has a broken clip which is a sign the whole thing is about to crack like so many others. Once it cracks these prices can become projectiles in an accident. I understand the truck is 5 years old but my concern replacing the dash is that gm has not used a new material and the same thing happens again and again.

Dashboard has cracked in multiple spots. I parked the car at work and when I came out after work and started the car I heard a pop and saw the first crack happen. Since then more cracks have appeared, some surrounding the passenger airbag location.
Dash cracks around passenger dash airbag and stering wheel.
Driving along and dashboard cracked by airbag on passenger side. Now the dash shake up and down when driving.
Cracked dashboard. Above instrument cluster and on right side by airbag. Vehicle is not driven hard or in 4x4 mode. Only about 7500 miles a year. Treated very well.
The dashboard is cracked in several places and flexes large amounts during normal in town driving conditions. There are sharp edges that concern me if we were involved in any type of accident. The vehicle has been well cared for and never abused in any way. The cracks continue to worsen and are apparently from the lack of reinforcement or materials defect in the dash itself but the direct cause is unknown to me.

Dashboard is cracked above the speedometer. I have 56000 miles on the vehicle. I owned a 2008 model and had same issue. I thought this was addressed and fixed on newer models. I'm told it'll cost me $1500 to fix. If they aren't going to make this good I'm switching over to toyotas. This vehicle was parked for days when I went to use it noticed the crack. Very dissappointed!.

Dash cracked right above passenger airbag deployment area. No discoloration in the area or any warning. One day fine, the next day a crack appeared. Truck was parked most of the day and my work commute is 6 miles round trip. I don't off road and I have normal sized tires so no vibration occurred.
Car was sitting in parking lot all day while I was at work. It was approximately 92 degrees out that day, and the vehicle was parked in an area that had shade for a good portion of the day as I try not to leave it out in the direct sun for too long due to the exterior plastic fading problem that occurs with these vehicles, mine included. When I returned to my car from work, there was a large (approx. 2-3 inch) crack in my dashboard. The crack is by the steering wheel area. It runs from the front of the section piece, toward the steering wheel and ends roughly where the dashboard raises up for the steering wheel area. I have now seen many complaints about this concern online and am hopeful that the manufacturer will do something about this problem as the integrity of the dashboard is now compromised and could present a safety hazard in the event of an accident. It also is now exposing any wiring and mechanisms under the dashboard to dirt and dust and could therefore result in electrical problems in the near future.
After driving in the summer went inside my house, when I came out the dash had cracked above the airbag area. Also cracked above the instrument cluster. The truck was not moving. The dash has no structure under the center of the dash to keep the dash from flexing. If parking with dash half covered in shade then the dash will be different temps on opposite sides.
Dash board cracks over instrument panel also crack in corner of passenger air bag . Cracks appeared after drive from FL. To TN.
