The vehicle was sold with significant rust damage to the underbody of the truck. The truck parts are rusted to a point the suspension, and axel are about to fall out. The truck is leaking gasoline due to the amount of rust. The power steering that they fixed after one day driving it had issues when sold is still having issues leaking fluid. It has been deemed unsafe to drive on road. The dealership sold the vehicle in unsafe conditions, and will not rectify the situation. I have documentation, and photos of the damage to the vehicle.

The structure that holds the rear differential and axle to the frame rusted through and broke off from both sides so the whole rear axle unit broke loose and pulled back so the drive shaft pulled loose and the rear tires were rubbing on the fenders. If this happened at highway speeds I don’t know what might have happened. The vehicle was towed to a welding shop to see if it can be repaired. It has not been inspected. If it can not be repaired the vehicle will have to be junked. There was no warning that this would happen.

The drivers side rear panel on 2002 Avalanches rust. My truck was parked in driveway and not running. I walked by and my hand made contact with the rusted spot causing an injury resulting in me having to go to the er to get the cut cleaned and a tetanus shot.
The frame on our truck has completely begun to rust out. Gm has a TSB to repair the frames on 2011-2013 Avalanches but this should extend to other model years as well as it's the same issue that gm is already aware of.

Vehicle hit a tree and airbags did not deploy.
Dash board by passenger air bag has a crack and apparently it happens to all gm trucks of this type and model.
The adhesive securing the 4 pieces of door trim is breaking down and the trim pieces will eventually fall off on their own, a potential hazard to other motorists depending on when and where it happens. These are supposed to be a no maintenance item. Reported to Chevrolet, case # 8-4199057982, and they do not seem to be concerned that this "life of the vehicle" installation is defective as the 3 year bumper-to-bumper warranty is expired. As a principle engineer in boeing's research and technology division (we test stuff to make sure it's safe), my informed opinion is the defect is caused by poor surface preparation prior to bonding, adhesive material used past it's working life, adhesive material past its shelf life, or use of an adhesive material which is not designed for the intended environment. As this same trim is installed on numerous chevy, GMC and Cadillac trucks and SUV models any cause other than the first two I listed would indicate a problem with numerous vehicles.
Clear coat peeling on all horizontal surfaces, upper dash panel developed multiple cracks creating a safety hazard if airbag deploys.

Interior door pull disintegrating more and more each day with no way to replace just this pull handle. It is made with very cheap white plastic. Eventually the door will not be able to close by using this handle and you will end up hurting your hand using another part of the door to close.
Door handle bolt anchors breaking and failing. Both read door handles have had to be replaced. When they fail the door handle pulls out from the door panel and eventually will break apart.
Rear brake lines burst while I was in motion. I was going down the highway and had to use the gears to slow down. They were corroded through. Same thing happened in 2016 with my fuel pump line corroded through. Was leaking while I was driving. Did not notice for a few days until there was puddles of gas where I park. Over the past few years my cladding has been falling off from rust through on the bottom secure points.
The 5. 3 engine has had many complaints from owners where the engine fails due to oil recirculation and valves going bad. The manufacturer will not do anything to replace the engines. The engine starts running extremely rough and had to be towed to a repair facility.

Interior door handle (driver's side) chrome overlay peeled 2010 chevy Avalanche lt. Owner opened door and cut finger on handle release when it was lifted up as car was parked in a parking lot. It is razor sharp. Gm was contacted and would not pay for door handle to be fixed despite injury directly resulting from faulty door handle. Vehicle has approximately 91,500 miles. With further inspection chrome overlay surrounding temp control also has peeling noted and is also very sharp.

I was driving to work on highway 144 going about 30 miles on October 5th around 1130 am. When my front passenger tire with axle inside it still came off and rolled away from the vehicle. My vehicle immediately bottomed out afterwards. I was informed by the previous owner after the accident that it happened to the front driver side as well. This has left me.

Dashboard has developed severe cracking on driver and passenger sides especially around the airbag area. This is the second dashboard in this vehicle. My concern is that the airbag may be punctured or otherwise ineffective upon deployment due to the instability and sharp, broken pieces of plastic dashboard. After having the dashboard replaced previously for these same reasons it has been protected with a dashmat and sunshade. This is certainly a quality issue which gm is aware of.

The chrome on the passenger side front door handle has begun to peel and is very sharp. A passenger cut their hand on the handle last week. I have since had to cut a portion of the chrome off and apply tape over the handle to prevent this from happening again.
Came out to my vehicle and noticed a crack starting from center speaker in the dash expanding towards the windshield. Is small now but over time I fear will continue to expand and could become a safety hazard if involved in an accident.

The contact stated that the failure had become significantly worse. The contact contacted an unknown Chevrolet dealer to inquire the cost of a dashboard. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
I own a 2013 chevy Avalanche. I have replaced all 4 chrome door handles due to them pulling away from the door where they attach at the rear portion. . This is a known and well documented problem with the body style. Today I had to pay to replace the drivers door handle for the 2nd time since I have owned the vehicle. I have now replaced 3 under warranty and had to pay for the other two. I am sure that this will continue to happen over the life of the vehicle and I don't feel I should have to pay every time an obvious manufacturers defect occurs.
I was told by a gm dealer how my vehicle is rusted excessively with the undercarriage and the quarter sills that have a rust through hole about 3 inches. I've opened a case with gm and they stated its out of warranty. I don't know how gm gets away with this repair and Toyota had to buyback vehicle or do frame replacements.
