Heard a loud pop bang noise then discovered dash cracked in several multiple places. Currently need to have airbags attended to as when I last called when it was convenient for me to take vehicle into repair , the repair place can’t meet my needs for time frame to repair. Am now afraid driving with all the cracks in dash but can not be without vehicle.

Rear control arms were rusted out and fell off the frame. Additionally with that happening the rear drive shaft was pulled out from transmission and could cause a vehicle to flip. Upon further investigation body frame was extremely rusted for a truck this age. 85450 mes on it.

Gear shift indicator does not always light. Has been an issue with other models but has never been recalled for this specific model. Don’t always know what gear you are in. Spare tire completely rusted out, unable to get down. Not sure if this is a recall issue but apparently common for this vehicle.

‘’’’’’frame’’’’’’I was heading to work and and something snapped while driving. I then brought vehicle to fire stone in kingsport TN. I was told it tie rod end had it replaced well the sound was still thier. Then I returned with vehicle pitman arm and bracket replaced nope banging noise was still there. I then called corporate up spoke mike I was told to return the vehicle bake to fire stone on a weds all day long they were looking over the vehicle come to find out frame snapped where cross member is on drivers side of vehicle. While the passenger side was still solid. I am not the only one dealing with issue as of now I am finding out more vehicles 2002 to the the 2005 chevy Avalanches 5. 3 4x4’s have this problem. Why hasn’t there been a recall on this issue like Toyota has done. I have 276,000 miles on this truck would like to have it fixed.
The dash has been slowly cracking the past couple of years. Which I’m concerned it will affect the air bag if ever in an accident and also dangerously sharp pieces of the dash could cause harm.

The 2007 chevy Avalanche dash board shakes vigorously and cracking apart especially near the airbag and steering column. Chevy should issue a recall to fix the the dash board and stabilize the dashboard supports.

The dashboard has cracked and broken in several places and I believe this to be directly as a result of the steering wheel column and moving the steering wheel tilt positions. You could hear a cracking when moving the steering wheel position and then a sound like a bolt or something dropping inside. After this happened there was a crack immediately above, perpendicular with the steering wheel in the plastic bent portion of the dash and since that time I have noticed the steering wheel seems to shift some even when you aren’t attempting to tilt it and the dashboard is cracking in several places now. This vehicle has never been left outside of the garage. It has been driven as a secondary, leisure vehicle and is in excellent condition so please don’t say this is normal. This is a result of something that occurred after hearing the snapping sound after the steering wheel was being tilted.
The dashboard has started to crack near the airbag. In the event of the airbag being deployed, it could potentially send sharp pieces of plastic flying into the passengers face.

The sunroof glass broke broke away while I was in the interstate going 70 miles a hour. It was so scary. Thank god there wasn't anyone behind me at the time. This could have went thru a cars windshield behind me and killed them. They need to build these better or be illegal in the us. I am putting a claim in with my insurance CO. I don't know if it's covered. The garage that will be repairing mine said he gets many calls of this happening. Even though it's may not be a vehicle defect like breaks but it surly is a hazard issue. Even the insurance girl I was talking to said one almost hit her. She was lucky she was going up on the side of the vehicle that lost it and not behind it. This has not been a recall and something should be done about sunroofs. Extra brackets to hold them in maybe should be applied on any vehicle with a sunroof. I'm telling you it scared me to death when it broke. My heart was pounding and it could of caused me to panic and get in an accident. I had to drive with one hand holding my inside sliding cover. And if it had been pouring rain I would of had water pouring in and that would be an electrical issue. Please don't let this issue continue. Please have every vehicle with a sunroof recalled and have extra brackets added. Can you imagine if you was driving on the highway and a sunroof came flying at you. It would be worse than the ice on vehicles that is illegal. Never did I ever expect this to happen. I would pray this would come under highway safety. They are so dangerous. I will never purchase another vehicle with one again. I am waiting on the insurance CO.
The dashboard cracked and pieces have broken off. This break is extremely dangerous if a crash were to happen as many parts are exposed.
The passenger side air bag was replaced under a current recall (n212328790) however, once they fixed the issue at love chevy (inverness, FL), the air bag light stayed on. It has never shut off and after speaking with the dealership as well as Chevrolet, they refuse to fix the issue they caused. I do not know if the recall has actually been fixed. Additionally, I am unable to refuel appropriately due to another recall (that my vehicle apparently isn't a part of), however, based on the amount of people that have the same problem, it should be a wider issued recall. This is for chevy recall # 08411 for the fuel system control module. It affects the charcoal canister, along with purge value and corresponding lines. Depending on how bad, charcoal canister needs replacement, even possibly the lines, as well as the gas tank. Very expensive fix that chevy refuses to address. This is a common problem that mechanics see with these vehicles.

Cracked dashboard at passenger air bag and front dash speaker.
I got into my 2013 Chevrolet Avalanche and found that the dash board had cracked. The crack is approx. 6"s long and runs from the windshield to the top of the rise above speedometer. It just happened and I don't know what to do about it. Can you help?.
My dashboard is cracking in several places, also my panels for the truck bed are warped.
Chevrolet has knowingly and willingly placed a dash in my 08 Avalanche that is dangerous. The truck has a tk airbag and Chevrolet refuses to fix the issue correctly. The dash is cracked, as most gm products from 07-13 are, and now the airbags need to be replaced. The dealership advised me that it would come apart, and that I would need to spend 2 grand to have it repaired. Gm told me on a recorded phone call that they have had several of these reports and that they do not have a "documented solution" for it. They told me I have to choose between the resale value of my truck or the safety of myself and passengers. They are at fault for the dash, as well as the tk airbag. Gm refuses to do anything to make it right after their shotty work.
Stability control and traction control not working can not find part to repplace as gm has discontinued the part needed steering angle position sensor gm part 15886733 I need this part, why is it discontinued?.
Dash has cracked as with many others experiencing the same issue.
I purchased the 2009 Chevrolet Avalanche new in October 2009. While in warranty I noticed the dashboard was cracking and took it to the dealer, four stars auto, in henrietta, texas. At that time I was told they would order a new dash board and replace it. I took the truck in for replacement of the dash board on the scheduled date. After the truck was out of warranty the dash board cracked again in the same place. I suspect the dash was repaired and painted and not replaced, but I have no proof so I did not contact the dealer. Since that time I have learned this has been an issue with other owners of gm trucks and nothing can be done about it other than replacing the dash, which is a very expensive repair for someone that is retired and on a fixed income. My dash board has now cracked in at least four places and seems to be getting worse. I have heard this could cause issues with the deployment of the airbags, not to mention diminished resale value.
Having alot of issues with the drain tubes especially with the front top tubes my floor boards are being soaked. The tubes are plastic so when and why for the drain tubes and how often should they be really be changed. The seal above driver door and passenger door in front are not always put in correctly or they move causing the water to cross over and pull into car instead of exiting. And the ac plug also problem. Certain years do not have the cabin filters . The engine light is very sensitive as well.
I drove to work & parked my 2007 Avalanche in my employers truck garage as I do every day. I went into the office attended a job briefing & we put on our coveralls for work then we got ready to leave to go to the 1st jobsite but as soon as the 1st two coworkers walked out of the shop they turned around yelling that my truck was on fire. I didn't believe them at 1st because I had just parked like 15 minutes prior. Parked & not running. Well I looked and my whole engine compartment was full of flames. We used 4 fire extinguishers to put the fire out & the fire department arrived to finish. My vehicle was totalled & I only had liability insurance.
I am a new owner of a 2003 Avalanche, I was satisfied with my purchase but my soonroof falls under the appropriate serial numbers (6,000,000-6,300,000) recall states that it may be covered by the company webasto hollandia. Vehicle is fine to drive places but sunroof must be fixed for coming winter. It worries me as there's a slight danger of it causing a road hazard if it were to fall out.

Door handles. Driver door, failed 2 times, front passenger side failed 1 time, rear passenger side failed 1 time. Could not enter or exit the vehicle via door with failed hardware. Occupants had to exit vehicle via an alternative door. The fix was to replace the door handle each time. I've been told by the dealership as well as an autobody shop that this is a common issue with the chrome handles. Cost to date spent repairing this issue is in excess of $800.
I bought this vehicle in preowned conditions. I understand it's aged but it doesn't matter if I'm driving on a bumpy road or on a new street, the dashboard rattles so loudly! there are shards of my dashboard missing. Not only is it annoying but I feel like it's dangerous. If in case the driver of the vehicle were to be involved in an accident, the airbag would force those shards at the driver or the passengers and they could be injured pretty badly. It's dangerous!.
There is a problem with gm vehicles developing cracked dashboards including my own. The cracks are happening around/above the instrument cluster and more importantly, around the airbag. I am concerned that the defected dashboard would cause some sort of airbag puncture if it were deployed causing serious injury. Should someone get killed or seriously injured before this matter is taken into consideration. I own a 2012 chevy Avalanche. I have developed the same cracks just as so many other gm vehicle owners.
The dashboard cracked all the way down the middle.
Dash board completely over all of the dash including over passenger air bag the dash board was covered since purchase. Noticed it. 6 6 18.
Service light dose not come on when my truck won't not started up until I got it towed.
Driving down the road the truck engine will be running with no abnormal sounds, smells, leaks but will act as if not in gear. Rpm's will rev but truck will not move. Only after putting truck in park (lots of grinding noises) then pressing the 4wheel button then back to 2wheel (sometimes through two cycles) the truck will back into gear and operate properly. Took it to a transmission shop put it on the diagnostic machine and no error codes were given to give reason why the transfer case disengages randomly. Replaced the transfer switch per shop recommendation "just in case"it was okay for about a month then once again issues started again just the same as before.

The gear shift indicator does not light up in the instrument pannel. Therefore you don't know vwhat gear you are in. I do understand there was a recall NHTSA campaign 05v055000 recall bagan on 02/14/2005.
The interior seat belts are cutting grooves in the plastic where they come out from on rear passenger seats. Also the interior door handles which are covered with chrome are peeling and the faux chrome is sharp an causes cuts if not opening the door from inside carefully. The cuts on fingers are painful. Has occurred to myself and passengers unaware of issue .
Drivers side interior chrome door handle. Chrome is peeling resulting in razor blade type cut on hand.
All the frame is rusted and all brake lines and fuel lines, and front end parts rusted.

Takata recall I have been patience waiting to have my airbags recalled. Every time I contact the car dealership that I purchased my truck, they keep telling me that my truck can't be serviced to replace my defected takata air bags. I was in an accident in Feb 6th 2017. It wasn't my fault and the air bags didn't explode.
Cables that hold on the tailgate have broken on one side. Chevrolet claims no recall for this VIN number vehicle. Yet online it says 2002 Avalanche has recall for cables.
