Vehicle would not start unless the key was turned to accessory position for a few seconds. This allowed the fuel filter to pump fuel to the engine. I have read of another individual having the same problem through the internet. I am concerned of other people having the same problem and needing to spend the money to have it fixed or not fixing it. I have had the vehicle checked and the fuel pump was replaced. Fortunately this did not happen while driving, but it seems to be a factory defect that should not have happened. The Chevrolet dealer kept the old part.

Fuel pump failed 3 times already. All door electrical solenoids/cable system failed-possible poor ventilation causing excessive condensation resulting in rusting of cables. Note: a friend with the same year model has exact problems and more. All costly and non-warranty items! could have been cause of accidents when fuel pumps failed but for the grace of god.
While driving at 70mph fuel pump went out, causing vehicle to stall out.
