1 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2013 Chevrolet Avalanche

Failure Date: 02/18/2013

My Avalanche has developed a rough idle at times ever since new. Sometimes it is rougher than other times and is not constant. I had it to the dealer two times and contacted Chevrolet support. Dealer claims there is no problem and since there are no TSB's there is nothing they can do to correct. One dealer said the fuel trim levels are very lean which causes the rough idle. I never had a vehicle with an idle like this and believe the fuel trim levels could be adjusted in the computer to smooth out the idle. Chevrolet support just directs me back to the dealer in a circle. The vehicle has not stalled out yet but I do not want that to happen which could cause a safety issue while stopped at an intersection or making a turn. The idle for a computer controlled engine in a vehicle this expensive should idle rock solid, thanks for looking into this for me.

2 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche

Failure Date: 11/21/2012

I have 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche. . I'd been smelling gas everyday I drove the truck for about a week. I left work and made it home one day and gas was leaking all over the drive way. I checked for recalls and there is a recall for the year, make and model, but the recall does not apply to my VIN according to gm. I will need to have the truck towed for repairs because it is not safe to drive to a gm dealership.

5 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche

Failure Date: 08/21/2011

Vehicle stalls at high rate of speed, highway driving, truck hesitates and jerks, and comes to the near point of stalling, and low speeds, vehicle does the same, hesitates, and jerks, stalls, all systems fail. Starts back up upon shifting to neutral. Mechanic says it is the crankshaft position sensor on the 8. 1 l 8100 series motor, the same motor that is in the 2001 model silverado, sierra, and suburbans that is the subject of a recall. Location is in the back of the motor making it near impossible to change out without major engine repair work, removing intake manifold and other complex things, to repair an apparent $60 part. Dangerous due to the fact that there is absolutely no indication that this is happening and happened on a vehicle that has been cared for completely. Also, dangerous due to the size of the vehicle and the near impossible task of steering it to a safe place with no power brakes or steering, especially at highway speeds. Mechanic says part it almost 100% plastic and can succumb to high and low variations in temperature and break down in composition. Which, it has done in this truck, again without no warning, and no apparent cost effective repair. It would appear that the recall should be extended to the 2002 model year as well as the same 8. 1 l motor was installed in the Chevrolet Avalanche 2500 truck (by the way, the vehicle was built in 2001), which, other that the different body style has the same chassis and motor as the suburban. Very dangerous for a woman, who cannot or does not have the strength to steer a 7,000 pound truck that completely stalled at a high rate of speed.

6 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche

Failure Date: 04/04/2011

Exhaust manifold bolt heads are breaking off causing there to be an exhaust leak. Pollution recall should be inforced to have gm cover all repairs of the exhaust manifold bolts. Check engine light comes on and vehicle can not pass emissions with this problem.
