Chevrolet Aveo owners have reported 7 problems related to front suspension (under the suspension category). The most recently reported issues are listed below. Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of Chevrolet Aveo based on all problems reported for the Aveo.
Front tires had uneven front tire wear. Outside edge of front tires wore more quickly then inside edge. The problem started when car was new and alignments were performed. The alignments did not solve the issue. The original tires last less than 30,000 miles due to the problem. The tires would've last less time if not for frequent tire rotates. The problem was not solved until the dealer replaced the front strut mounts in about 2010. The problem seems to be reappearing.

2009 Aveo had 17 miles on it when purchased 2 days later car stalled and died out in middle of traffic. Car was in shop for about a week or two first was told it was catalytic converter stopped up then was told it was something with the motor parts was order and problem was fix then about a week later blower motor went out twice dealership didnt know what was wrong with it so they replaced blower motor twice and cigarette light blew out fuses twice as well. Car has blown out 3 headlight bulbs was told there is a short in the switch or somewhere but dealer dont wanna look for the problem, motor is tapping loudly like its not getting oil to the lifter was told two times by two different dealerships that the motor is suppose to tap but when I prechased the vehicle the motor was quiet I took it to a mechanic and was told it was the lifters and theres a problem with the motor also oil is all over the top of the motor around the cap was told by the dealer this is a normal problem they are having to many excuses to not fix the vehicle. There is anotha noise that starts when you first start up the vehicle and dealership is deaf ear to the tapping noise and this noise as well they kept the car for 3 days and couldnt duplicate the noise but the very next day after I start up the vehicles you hear the noise plain and clear, rattling noise dealership service manager heard the noise first hand before and he knows theres a electrical short he said so himself. Tires on front and back are wearing unevenly dealership says the alignment on the vehicle is straight how is that when im going on my third set of tires now and its 2011. Dealership where purchased vehicle from says its normal to be on 3rd set of tires another dealership says its not im working with the gm company to see what the outcome will be on this vehicle.

Every few thousand miles I have to get my car realigned. This problem is costing me in fees and new tires.

Sometimes when it is windy specially on the bridges or highway,or when a semi comes from opposite direction, the car will sort of jerk & get a loud squealing noise and the force will make the car to be very unstable while driving like if the car would be pulled by a great force, I told the dealer on numerous occasions about the problem and even showed them a video recording I did while driving the vehicle and they never did anything about it. This vehicle has become a great risk for me and my family and im scared of even going on trips with this car.

I bought the 05 Aveo on Nov 15, 2006, I have experienced front end shaking at speeds of 50, the dealership replaced the engine and transmission mounts. The problem is better but still there. Also have had front end noise like creeks over bumps and making turns, the dealership replaced the bushings, the noise went away for a couple of days but came back twice as bad, took the car back to the dealership now am waiting for new bushings to be ordered. "with the hopes that it will end the problem" as per service manager.
