Two problems related to manual transmission have been reported for the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Manual transmission pops out of first gear at take off, transmission was repaired but still behaves erratically and noisily, sounding more like an old truck.
Problem: the transmission pops out of first gear, sometimes immediately and sometimes after starting away which often causes the cars behind me to nearly rear end me. Dealer has been advised and parts have been ordered. My concern is the long term safety and integrity of the unit. The problem occurs especially after the car has been driven in heavy traffic; that is a time when the chances of being injured by our crack legion of aggressive urban drivers is greatest. You'd think after 100 years of manufacturing manual transmissions that perfection would have been achieved by now. Lastly, I'm not crazy about being a potential crash test dummy for a problem which should be automatically replaced, not patched.
