Shortly after I purchased my 1996 chevy 4x4 Blazer, the air conditioner stopped working. After getting this serviced, and not using it during the winter months. I took it in to have it checked again and was told the condenser was bad and would have to be replaced. This has not only happened on this vehicle, but also on the Chevrolet truck we had owned before. While talking with the mechanic he said that he has work on lots of chevys with trouble in the condenser. I think this matter should be researched and taken care of.

I bought my rig under a year ago and have been haveing problems with the trasmission,I have run out of gas many times because it doesn't register,my air conditioner doesn't work right,my brakes have locked up a few times and when I turn a corner it sounds like something crahing under my rig. I have had nothing done yet because it is going to cost me a whole lot to have all this replaced. My stereo went dead about a week after I got it also. I thought I was buying a good rig but,now I am finding out different and I paid good money for and am still paying for it. I have replaced the heater core it went out 3 weeks after I got it,the window went out a few day's after I got it and Ford barely replaced that for me.

Air conditioner failed.
The headlights have never been good, can't see. Air conditioner compressor leaked out refrigerant, independent garage wants $ 1000. 00 to fix properly. . . . . Anti lock brake module went out, independent garage wants $ 1000. 00 to fix.
The air conditioner has failed repeatedly since about 35,000 miles; simon motors, an authorized Chevrolet dealership and service center, has repaired it four times. They report there is a leak somewhere in the system and that it is leaking freeon (sp?) "but they cannot find it. " most recently, they replaced the compressor, but the problem persists. After running cool for a time, the air conditioner begins blowing hot air. This is usually accompanied by a concentration of moisture in the air inside the vehicle, often with a foul odor. Are we in danger of any toxic exposure from this leak? what other reports of chevy air conditioners do you have on file? it gets extremely hot here in the desert and this problem needs to get fixed, but it is not being fixed. Please advise.

1. Anti-lock brake controller bad 2. Air conditioner compressor leaks out all refrigerant 3. Head lights are so bad, you can not see the road hardly at all.
At approximately 46,000 miles, the air conditioning in my Blazer died. The condensor, etc. All need to be replaced. My independent dealer relayed to me that he has had three 1996 and a 1997 Blazers in for a/c failure in the last 6 months. He says it is due to "cheap parts".
Since day 1 when vehicle purchased, notice significant loss of power and tachometer jumps up and down with air conditioning on. This didn't occur when other Blazers were driven. Absolutely no pickup even at higher speeds. This creates a significant problem when in highway traffic. Engine check light came on at 1400 miles, stayed on. Brought in to dealer, claimed an evaporation problem and hose was "kinked" at a 90 degree angle. Supposedly fixed problem, yet still have significant power loss. Extremely poor gas mileage.

A/c compressor failed causing the unit not to cool the vehicle when turned on. Nlm.
I replaced all of the front ball joints, after 60,000 miles. As a result of the ball joints going bad it messed up my tires, so I had to get new ones. The ac compressor is making really lous noises, it sounds like it is defective bearings, on the front of the compressor.
Air conditioner will not cool vehicle. Vehicle was taken to dealership. Consumer was told that air condtioner compressor will need to be replaced. The part is on national back order. Please provide any further information.
The air conditioning compressor was replaced by the dealer on Friday June 25. After the repair the vehicle was driven approximately 20 miles that day. On the following day the vehicle was driven an additional 25 miles and returned home. After leaving the vehicle parked in my driveway, I was summoned from my home by a neighbor who reported that the vehicle was on fire. We extinguished the fire in the engine compartment and had the dealer remove the vehicle for repair. The dealer informed me that the fire was not caused by their repair. Damage to the under hood equipment required $ 4,500 in repairs. The repair work took over four weeks.
We recently purchased this 1996 Blazer and due to it being used we are without warranty. The windshield wipers sometimes do not come on and when they are working they sometimes stop in the midst of a rainstorm. This is extremely dangerous and has caused us on more than one occasion the need to stop driving for our safety and other motorists. The air conditioner is hit and miss just like the wiper, but thank heavens this is not a safety issue only a comfort issue.
A/c water drip on the exhaust heat. Yh.
Vehicle experienced transmission problems. The vehicle's transmission shifts up and down and surges when climbing hills with a lot of corners. The vehicle has had other failures which included the a/c and transfer case leak.
