Chevrolet Blazer owners have reported 136 problems related to equipment (under the equipment category). The most recently reported issues are listed below. Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of Chevrolet Blazer based on all problems reported for the Blazer.
My 2021 Chevrolet Blazer experienced a radiator failure at approximately 42,000 miles. The radiator and cooling system malfunctioned, causing coolant loss and triggering a warning light on the instrument panel. The failed radiator is available for inspection upon request. This defect put my safety and the safety of others at risk because a compromised radiator can lead to engine overheating, sudden loss of power, or even steering assist reduction while driving. These conditions increase the likelihood of an accident, particularly at highway speeds. The problem was confirmed by my Chevrolet dealer, who diagnosed the radiator as needing replacement. They initially quoted $1,800, later reducing the cost to $915. 90 after acknowledging that approximately 20 customers per month at their dealership alone are experiencing the same issue. This indicates the defect is widespread, at least regionally, and may be systemic across the model. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealer service department, which is an authorized gm representative. No police or insurance inspection has occurred. Prior to the failure, a warning lamp illuminated on the instrument panel, alerting me to a cooling system issue. This was the first symptom I noticed before bringing the vehicle in for service. I believe this premature radiator failure represents a systemic defect in the 2021 Chevrolet Blazer’s cooling system. It occurred well within the 5?year/60,000?mile warranty period, yet the dealer claimed the radiator is not covered. I am requesting NHTSA investigate this issue, as it appears to affect many owners and poses a significant safety risk.

The thermostat is stuck open and needs replaced. If left as it is, could create overheating issues for the engine and even more damage. A service engine light was illuminated prior to finding the issue. The light was accompanied by a warning about assisted steering. Two days after the light first came on, a Chevrolet service department diagnosed the problem and is repairing it. An invoice can be provided at a later date once repairs are completed.
Shift to park issue. Vehicle shifts into park but does not register as such. Therefore, the vehicle keeps running and will not turn off or allow you to exist the vehicle. This is already a know issue with certain gm vehicles as is evident by a recall and service bulletins. However, none of those include the 2020 chevy Blazer.

When I try to park the car, it says shift to park. Sometimes I can’t get the car to go into park to exit the vehicle or other times. I’ve shut the door and it has stayed on with the accessories because it won’t shut off.
Vehicle thermostat would read cold while operating and the ac was not working. A message would populate in the dash stating "steering assist is reduced drive with care. " multiple forums stated it was a thermostat issue or temperature sensor. Also attempted to disconnect the battery for several minutes which would in turn clear the message and all would be working fine. This has been done multiple times and is at random when the message and ac stop working.
The onstar is out, cant make a call to them, cant remote start on app, navigation doesnt work.
Request for recall review – 2021 Chevrolet Blazer steering assist and cooling fan issue hello, I am writing to report a recurring issue with my 2021 Chevrolet Blazer and to request that this concern be reviewed for possible recall or warranty coverage. The vehicle frequently displays an “action required: steering assist is reduced. Drive with care” message while driving. Additionally, after shutting off the vehicle, the engine cooling fan continues to run for up to 20 minutes, as if the vehicle is overheating. This issue has occurred multiple times and raises concerns about potential problems with the steering assist system, cooling system, or electrical sensors. I’ve noticed that other Blazer owners have reported similar experiences online, which suggests this could be a broader issue. Could you please confirm whether there are any existing recalls, technical service bulletins (tsbs), or warranty programs addressing this condition? I would also appreciate guidance on the next steps for inspection or documentation. Vehicle information: year/model: 2021 Chevrolet Blazer.
Unknown…. Cut open my shin (leg) on the bottom corner of my driver’s door (black plastic side molding). That part is sharp! required er with 14 stitches on 9-24-25. As of today I’m still recovering.

While driving an alert came up "adaptive steering limited, drive with care". At the same time, my ac stopped working a d my thermostat dropped to cold and will not move from there. From searching online, this is a common and known issue with chevy suvs yet there is no recall or attempt to correct.
My transmission is leaking fluid and has trouble going in reverse. This model has had two recalls in 2020 and 2021 with the one from 2020 was specifically for missing parts on the transmission causing leaks. My car is under the mileage for the transmission to even be a problem as stated by multiple mechanics. If there was a recall why wasn’t I informed before the transmission began to leak. The is serviced regularly by dealership where car was purchased. My safety is important to me but I guess not to Chevrolet because I mever was told about a possible issue with the transmission. So I hope yall take notice and do the right thing.
Increasing speed by itself, let foot off gas pedal and gas pedal sticking, 1st time I tapped brakes and it quit. 2nd time it did not. I had to slam brakes and hokd until the point they had overheated and smell burnt and filed a separate complaint for that today. Gas pedal sticking and self accelerating. Pedal to the floor accelerating. I do not drive like that and scared the hell out of me. I bout it 5 days ago from a Chevrolet dealership. I'm tired of rip offs. Next one best be brand new and they reimburse me for outside mechanical I inspection period. Bc I trust no dealer now. Went from 7p to about 95 in 10 seconds for 10 min. Not sure what braking did bx I coukd care less about the phone whike I am trying not to hit cars in front of me literally almost jammed an 18 wheeler and moving truck with me pushing the brakes as gmhard as I could.
Left turn signal can activate by itself after right turn. Details: driving and making a right turn with the right turn signal active, after the turn when the signal cancels, the signal sometimes activates the left blink-to-pass feature causing the left signal to blink 3 times. This appears to be because the turn signal arm falls too hard. When turning onto a multi lane road this causes confusion to drivers coming up behind where they think I am moving into the left lane, but I am not. Gm has loaded software to reduce this but it still happens. They replaced my turn signal arm and it still happens (much less often now). I can prevent it from happening by using my finger to dampen the turn signal arm when it cancels by catching it and slowing it down. I stopped using my turn signal completely as it is embarrassing when it does this.

My vehicle is roughly 40k miles. The temp gauge was stuck on c the cooling fan was running continuously even when the car was off and the checked engine appeared. The mechanic at the dealership said the thermostat is stuck in open position causing the computer not to know if the engine is cooling properly. For a vehicle less then 5 years old with upkept maintenance and doing a bit of research. . . This is a common occurrence in chevy vehicles. Therefore, the manufacturer needs to look into recalling this issue costing people thousands of dollars. This was my first chevy and probably my last.
Shift lever to park alert on dashboard. Paid to have shift lever replaced on Blazer. Also had same problem on 2018 malibu. . Paid myself to have shift lever replaced! I was never notified about a class action suit. I believe this is a major problem on gm vehicle. Need gm to have a recall!.
Transmission & engine failure. Press the gas and it doesn’t move the car-feels as if it is trying to change gears and it isn’t working. Car under warranty & still not working. Been to the dealership multiple times and they are unable to fix the issue. No warning signs.
Similar to the bulletin no. : pip5681c the flex pipe bracket is cracked on my 2020 chevy Blazer this causes rattling and whining noises due to the part rubbing against where it was previously connected.
There is a really bad rattling noise that comes from the dash. The dash at the windshield you can push down very easily. Whem driving on rough road the ratteling noise is very loud and distracting. During daylight driving you get a very bad glare from the dash board in the windsheild. I havent found a dash mat yet to fox the problem temporarily but some people have mentioned trying felt.
Recall n252503010 / 25v433 – 2024 chevy Blazer ev. Dealer cleared my VIN after only a visual “inspection” and later applied software updates. The official remedy requires rerouting/taping or replacing the brake harness, not software. My VIN was falsely marked “recall complete” while the safety defect remains unresolved.
The temperature gauge or thermostat has been replaced 3 times and continues to fail.
Warning message flashes "put car in park" after putting it in park and pushing the stop button. It flashes for a few minutes, beeps the horn alert, and you can't lock it . It was diagnosed at a chevy dealership as needing new switch and jumper harness at almost $800.
Shifter assembly and harness when putting vehicle into "park" and then shutting off the vehicle a warning message would appear that the car had to be placed into park and a beeper would sound. Never sure if vehicle is actually in park. Have to restart the vehicle, move the parking gear from park, then back into park until message does not appear. This issue was a recall for the 2013-2019 chevy Blazers, but was not recalled for the 2020 Blazer, although it appears that this is still an issue. Had issue repaired by paying for the replacement of this shifter assembly.
At routine oil change dealer noticed radiator was leaking. 60,840 miles took it to an independent repair shop who confirmed radiator needed to be replaced. Has also seen same on other 2021 Blazers. No visible signs of leaking (fluid on garage floor) or warning indicators. No recall issued on this, however, seems to be a common problem on 2021 Blazer based on chevy forums. Due to safety issues, vehicle is currently in shop for the needed replacement repair.
When you shift to park it tells you shift to park and you can't turn the car off.
The car does not sense when it is put into park. The alarm continues to ding and the car will not turn off . It displays a message stating shift to park.
When I come to a stop, in an attempt to park, I will shift into park but a message will appear on my dash saying to shift to park this prevents me from shutting off the vehicle. The issue is persistent at times, but happens intermittently.
Shift to park message began appearing even after the shifter knob was in park. I cannot turn the vehicle off and it rolled backwards due to the vehicle not recognizing it was in park. This has now cost $700 to repair when its been a known issue with these vehicles for over 6 years and yet they refuse to issue a recall. This is dangerous and disgusting practice for a vehicle manufacturer to avoid keeping their customers safe.
Coolant temp gauge stuck on cold, ac quits blowing cold air, reads the thermostat code when check engine light comes on. Was told my car needs a new thermostat and a coolant temp sensor. This has proven to be a common issue among Blazers. There is no rhyme or reason when this happens and will fix itself after a while, but then happens again.
I am experiencing the well known "shift to park message" while the shifter is in park. I cannot turn the vehicle off and I am worried the battery will die. This is a well documented issue with this vehicle, and several other models outlined in TSB 19-na-206, for years and yet they refuse to issue a recall to repair the faulty design or component . I have reached out to them via email, but no action has been taken, see email below. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- gm customer care, I am writing to request assistance regarding an issue with my 2020 chevy Blazer VIN# [xxx] . This is my fourth new gm vehicle, and while it is currently outside the 36-month warranty period, the vehicle has only 18,800 miles on it. Recently, the vehicle began displaying a persistent "shift to park" message on the driver information center, despite the gearshift being in the park position. As a result, the vehicle remains in the on position and cannot be turned off. This is a well-documented issue affecting several gm models, including the Blazer, acadia, malibu, traverse, and volt. For reference, please see TSB 19-na-206 attached. Repair costs for this issue appear to vary widely, sometimes exceeding $1,000 depending on location and dealership. Given that this appears to be a known design or component issue, I do not believe this should be an out-of-pocket expense for the customer. As a long-time gm customer, I respectfully request that gm cover the cost of this repair. I am disappointed that there has been no proactive recall or service campaign, especially considering the volume of customer complaints reported online. Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to your response and hope gm will stand behind its products in this matter. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Temp stuck on cold, ac doesn’t work and driving assistance off. Fan runs after shutting engine off.
Midway home I got a message on my dashboard “steering assist reduced - drive with care”, but my power steering was still functional. I parked my car in the driveway, shut it off, and the cooling fans started blowing excessively. This continued for 5-ish minutes before shutting off on its own. Then I noticed that the engine temp gauge wasn’t working. Unsure if this is a problem with the thermometer or the sensor currently.
"shift to park" message appears when parked (even if safety brake is engaged) and attempting to turn off the vehicle. The vehicle does not turn off and remains running for various periods of time. Unable to turn the vehicle off, leaving it unsecure and drains the battery. This happens consistently. I contacted my local dealership and they confirmed getting several of these reports through their shop, but no recall has been made.
The temp gage stays on cool. Ac does not work and the radiator fan stays on after car shuts off. Dealership finds nothing wrong.
My check engine light came on (solid) and my ac stopped blowing cold air and my auto start stopped working. I used a diagnostic tool to read the code and it said "p0128 coolant thermostat $07e8". The same thing happens with my heat when it gets too cold out.
Blazer was brand new purchase, I have experienced the following issues so far (several issues appear to be common based on internet searches): 1. Oil pan replaced 4 years 2. Thermostat replaced around same time, this impacted steering 3. Today I replaced a transmission seal for $600, looks like a recall was issued on bolts, my VIN was not in population 4. At todays appointment was told the radiator is leaking and I will need a new radiator.
