1 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 08/15/2015

Received a recall last October 2015 about strong gas small. Got appointment at chevy dealer to fix problem in November. Dealer says I need a gas tank, but they can't get any from company. They have other recalls also with the same problem that are waiting. Now vehicle has become hard to start. Still waiting for dealer to fix. Why does Chevrolet send recalls if they have no intention of fixing the problem?? this is a dangerous situation with gas dripping, and the strong gas smell. It is a lawsuit waiting to happen if someone accidently drops a cigarette around the car.

3 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2001 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 12/30/2013

Any time I am driving my fuel gauge goes crazy. I never know how much fuel I actually have because it constantly goes up and down. I've ran out of gas a few times because it shows I have 1/4 tank or more and then it'll just go down all the way, then shoot up 3/4 tank and so on. When I'm coming to a stop, especially in small downhills, my brake pedal starts vibrating and barely slows down. I get nervous all the time because I'm afraid my car will not stop. It also does this if I'm starting to brake, and one of the wheels hits a small bump in the road, then it's almost impossible to brake normally because the brake pedal starts vibrating, the abs brakes light comes on, and my car will not slow down which is very scary especially if I have my 3 year old in the car.

4 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2006 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 07/02/2013

Was parked at job site after having filled fuel tank. Low fuel alarm and light came on. When started vehicle gas gauge registered empty. After several off/on sequences for the ignition, fuel gauge would only register empty. Had repaired same day from dealer. Was told this was a warranty issue, and our deductible was 50% ($175). I told dealer I would contact gm to get the "deductible" refunded. I will let you know how that goes. Three weeks ago the vehicle lost the #6 fuel injector and it took out the fuel injector control module (computer system??). Total cost from dealer was $1633. 01. Contacted gm, was refunded $592. This a municipally owned vehicle, probably why we received refund.

5 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 09/14/2012

After refueling our 2002 Chevrolet Blazer, there was a strong smell of gasoline. After taking it into the shop for repairs, the diagnosis was that the fuel tank and lines were rusting away and need to be replaced. Shop called us back and advised that parking break drums are falling apart. Every time we have an issue with this vehicle it has always been a major repair. Never a simple fix. With all the complaints on this vehicle I don't understand why the government doesn't force gm into a recall. This vehicle even qualified under the cash for clunkers program.

11 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 1997 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 07/01/2000

I have a 1997 chevy s-10 Blazer lt. I am having problems with the fuel gauge. I fill the tank and it reads full, I use the car and when it gets down to half tank the gauge starts going back up to full. . . . I am empty when it reads full. This has been repaired once under waranty, but after about a year it started again. Chevy wont pay for it again because the warranty is out.

12 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 1996 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 06/15/1999

1&2) lower left ball joint and idler arm have been replaced, lower right ball joint is showing signs of wear and will require replacement in the near future. 3) 4x4 electric shift just failed last week. Preliminary troubleshooting indicates a #2 failure code which point to either the encoder/shift motor assembly or the transfer case control module (tccm). 4) this is a continuing problem. Whenever the gas gauge indicates 1/8 tank or less and the vehicle stands for more than 2 hours it is difficult to start. It takes 4-5 tries and requires that the gas pedal be pressed about 1/2 travel in order to start. When taken to the dealer for repair with a nearly empty gas tank, dealer claimed that they could not duplicate the problem. Yet, the day before the hard starting problem occured at least 6 times.

15 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2001 Chevrolet Blazer

Gas gauge was inadequate. Has ran out of gas twice. Had sensors and clusters changed. Problem still exists. Dealer contacted. Upon talking to representative there was nothing to be done, but try to keep fuel in vehicle above half tank. General representative stated problem with program in vehicles.

16 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 1997 Chevrolet Blazer

Gas gauge unreliable below half tank, fluctuates up and down between full and empty. Need to use trip meter to gauge fuel in tank by mpg. Front brakes and rotor recently replaced due to shaking in steering wheel while braking. Per dealer, rotors were badly warped.
