1 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2022 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 09/01/2024

To whom it may concern; my son's fiancé was driving on the highway and the vehicle had a sudden loss of power. Afterward, it turned off and would not re-start. After towing the vehicle to a repair facility (out of warranty by mileage, 45k) were advised they retrieved dtc p023f and advised the fuel pump control module failed. I did some checking and found that gm is aware of the issue and has released t. S. B. #pip5964c, which states "crank no start, stalling, loss of power, fuel gauge inoperative/erratic, malfunction indicator lamp (mil) illuminated p023f p129f". Fortunately nothing happened, she is young and Smart and was able to handle the situation without incident. However, I shutter to think if my father in-law would have been driving, and/or any individual who would have panicked.

4 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 05/23/2008

Fuel gauge indicator not working. I was looking online to see what may be the problem. And I found thousands of personal owner reviews and defects they had with their 2000 chevy Blazer and they all have the same problem as me. . You should check into that. .

5 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 09/25/2007

I bought my used 2000 chevy Blazer 4 door 4wd this year and noticed that the fuel gauge was erratic. When filled up it reads full but after driving over 150 miles the fuel gauge jumps around from empty to full continuously. I've read several reviews at this site and believe chevy has a major defect in the fuel sending unit for this vehicle that they need to research and correct. I believe a recall for this problem is in order.

6 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

8 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 10/30/2005

I have a 2000 Blazer with 58,000 miles and the fuel gauge does not work properly. I have heard dealers and mechanics say that it is common problem with Chevrolet. I would like to know if they plan to address the issue. Also, my locking rear differential does not work. My brother had it replaced twice under warranty on his 2004 z71.

9 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2001 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 08/09/2005

Not only have I had problems early with hub and bearing-- and also replaced ball bearing-- now the abs-- manufacturers has done poor job on brake. Wheel parts- very cheap parts-- many talk about it and know that the Blazer has had problems with these parts. My family has purchased chevy's for years-- I am now never about to purchase a chevy again. While I pay my car payment, I always purchase new. I am always also paying for work done on this vehicle, and I am talking- over 2,000 so far and again have to go in today-- I may even trade it in I am so pissed. We also had problems with my husbands truck. . I don't know what they did, or who they purchased their parts from, but surely went to cheap parts, they( chevy) put many consumers in a bad spot. And I have written a complaint before- when I had the chevy Blazer 2001 for a year half. They seem to want to only hear if I died cause of the failures that it would be looked into.

10 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 1998 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 07/04/2005

Vehicle: 1998 chevy Blazer 4dr 4x4 4. 3l vortec v6 events leading up to failure: normal driving conditions failure(s): there are two primary concerns with this vehicle: 1) fuel gauge does not work, it will report complete full and when varying amounts of fuel the fuel gauge bounces around(usually between half and full, but sometimes between e and full) I am forced to use trip odometer and approximate fuel economy to determine tank level. I have heard several to many anecdotal stories of other chevy vehicles experiencing the same symptoms. 2) the windshield wipers work sporadically. Currently when operating in 'intermittent' mode, the windshield wipers will begin to operate in continuous, regular speed and will not turn off when switch turned to 'off' position. Situation will occasionally correct itself after several minutes. Other times I am required to stop, park, and turn off the vehicle before restarting it to turn the wipers off. Occasionally the wipers will not work at all in any position. Usually this only happens for a short periods of time, while I am trying to turn them on by scrubbing through all the positions of the switch. I owned a 95 GMC jimmy prior to this vehicle and experienced the exact same problem. This model year was covered under a recall that ended with, I believe, the 97 model year. Corrections/repairs: I have had neither problem repaired. Therefore, I still have the old parts. Instead of repairing, currently financially unfeasible, I am using rain-x for the windshield and the odometer for a fuel gauge. *incident date is approximately the last time the windshield wipers were used. I haven't driven in the rain much this summer.

11 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 05/13/2005

Gas gauge erratic on 2000 chevy Blazer, can't tell how much gas is in the vehicle.

12 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 05/09/2005

The fuel guage in my 2000 chevy Blazer stopped working causing me to run out of fuel with my 4 year old son in the vehicle. I also had a 1996 chevy Blazer and the fuel guage stopped working (my father now owns this vehicle). I contacted Chevrolet and they claimed that they have no reports of fuel guages that stop working. A very close friend of mine who worked for Chevrolet for 20 years told me that this is not true. Apparently the fingers on the sending unit were falling off causing the guage to not work.

13 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 03/14/2005

I just purchased a 2000 Blazer zr2, when the gas gauge hits 3/4 tank, the gauge will bounce back and forth from empty to full. I never know how much gas I really have, which could cause a real safety issue to myself, let alone the hundreds of dollars it would take to replace the fauly sensor. I've found that lots of gm consumers also have this problem, which I feel gm should be responsible for replacement. My vehicle only has 56000 miles.

14 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 03/01/2005

Contact states the fuel gauge is not consistent in the readings. It does not measure the gasoline correctly. A mechanic stated there was a problem within the electronic wiring that deals with the computer to the fuel gauge. The vehicle has not been serviced for this problem.

15 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 1997 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 01/01/2005

The fuel gauge does not read properly. The vehicle has run out of gas numerous times because of the false reading. The consumer was told the fuel tank would need to be removed to determine the problem.

16 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 10/01/2004

The gas gauge fluctuates from e - f when my tank is only half full. The only way I know how far I can drive is to zero out the trip odometer when I fill the gas tank. This vehicle had has approximately 55k miles on it - too few for this kind of problem.

17 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 09/01/2004

2000 chevy Blazerfuel guage doesn't register properly below 1/2 full. Often fluctuates below 1/2 tank from empty to full or in between. Only 25000 miles, just out of warranty (expired June 2004).

18 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 1999 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 08/10/2004

Gas sending gauge is irratic, causing me the inability to know how much gas I have. This is a very serious problem which I understand is very costly. According to the several mechanics that I obtained an estimate from this is not an isolated incident. They were all very much aware of this defect in the chevy Blazer.

19 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 1997 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 08/09/2004

Fuel gauge reads incorrectly.

20 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 1997 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 07/01/2004

97 s10 Blazer fuel gauge failed to read correctly causing running out off gas on highway and wipers failing to work but only when they feel like it almost causing me to slam into a semi in a sudden down pour.

21 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 1997 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 06/25/2004

Consumer stated that fuel gauge was giving wrong readings. She ran out of gas on a busy highway because fuel gauge indicated that she had full tank when she did not. Also, consumer complained about windshield wipers. Windshield wipers worked intermittently. Windshield wipers could come on, and then stop. Consumer could not get them started again. She had to wait.

22 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 06/15/2004

Fuel guage fluctuates between empty and full anytime fuel tank is less than half full. I am worried about possible voltage problems in the tank.

23 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 1997 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 06/08/2004

Fuel guage occasionally reads erratically .

24 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 05/25/2004

Fuel level indicator: sending unit frequently fails causing indicator needle to constantly swing across face from 'e' to 'f'. Chevy dealer says this is happening many times in blaser/s10 vehicles. Chevy dealer says it's a bad sending unit that needs to be replaced and will fail again in a short amount of time. Chevy dealer says that the manufacturer is well aware of this defective part problem that fails when used.

25 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 05/03/2004

The gas guage on my vehicle has recently started bouncing around on my vehicle so most of the time I have no idea how much gas I have. Two days ago I ran out of gas on a main highway and had to take my life into my hands to go get more. I'm not happy, I haven't had vehicle very long!!! I've been told it's the sending unit responsible for this and now I'll have to pay in excess of 600. 00.

26 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 05/03/2004

Fuel gauge fails to function properly. Truck has no gas, yet gauge shows over a quarter tank. Sometimes gauge fluctuates from full to empty randomly without reason after below half a tank. Have run out of gas several times on highway. This seems to be a serious issue and costly repair. I know plenty of others with same problem as well as seeing numerous postings.

27 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 04/20/2004

I bought a 2000 Blazer in 2002. I took my vehicle overseas in 2003. Much to my surprise, the gas gauge stopped working properly one day in 2004 causing me to run out of gas on a major International interstate. I took it to the dealership when I came back to the states only to be told, that something was wrong with the fuel pump. Not only that, the module also has to be replaced because the fuel pump and module comes as a unit and you cannot replace the fuel pump without replacing the module. I am being told I have to pay $950 to have this problem fixed. I know I am not the only one with a Blazer who is having this problem. Gm has failed time and time again to acknowledge this as a manufacturer problem and people are losing money because of it. If I have to pay $950 out of my pocket to fix this problem, this will be one unhappy, loyal customer gm has lost because I will make sure that no one I know ever purchases a gm vehicle again.

28 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 04/11/2004

Fuel guage failure on 2000 Blazer. Teenage son stranded on middle freeway lane during heavy traffic. Guage showed fuel. Tank empty. Estimated repairs= $600. 00. This has happened to friends with same year Chevrolets. Internet full of complaints. This is a serious safety issue, and a very costly repair that many cannot afford. Please, please help. I am submitting the same complaint for 1997 Chevrolet!.

29 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 1997 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 04/04/2004

Fuel gage was reading full and we ran out of gas. I thought my wife had filled the car up and she thought I had. So, fortunately we were only 10-15 miles from help. We added a couple gallons of gas and filled up at the gas station. The problem hasn't been fixed yet. Gage seems to read ok till half a tank, then it seems to stay around a half a tank.

30 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 03/01/2004

The fuel sending unit is operating erratically, causing the gas gauge to be inaccurate. The cost of repair is $400. 00 for a new sending unit/fuel pump and $200 for labor! I have heard from other gm owners that this is becoming a common problem. Gm will never get my money for a new car again if they don't own up to this problem.

31 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 1999 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 02/27/2004

1999 Chevrolet s-10 Blazer: design flaw. The fuel gauge sending unit is made as one assembly with the fuel pump. The sending unit goes bad, but fuel pump is still in good operating condition. The cost of replacement is $600. The sending unit and fuel pump should be separate units. As my fuel gauge is not reading correctly, I must keep up with my miles driven by the odometer.

32 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 1997 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 01/01/2004

Gas guage does not read accurately. Ran out of gas when guage read full.

33 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 11/28/2003

Fuel gauge does not read accurately. When I fill the tank the gauge goes to full. It seem to read accurately until getting to half tank. At that time it remains right at half full no matter how much further I drive. I have noticed several other identical complaints with the same vehicle. Running out of gas is a very unsafe possibility! the repair for the sending unit was quoted to me $750 which is outrageous for something that is a common problem and should be recalled.

34 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 10/22/2003

The fule sending unit went out and the transmission went out at 50,000 miles.

35 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2003 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 08/12/2003

Consumer had experienced loud thumping from the engine compartment. There were times when transmission got stuck in one gear for an extended amount of time. Vehicle was taken to the dealer four times for transmission problems. Also, fuel gauge was not functioning properly. When gas was in the tank it could register full one minute and half full the next minute without moving the vehicle. Manufacturer and the dealer had been notified.
