I am not comfortable with this car, I took this car to the dealership to get fixed and checked on recalls but they could not fix the most important and most dangerous recall. They worked on recall#n252492430 and recall #n242468490 from frank villasenor # (056) 750027017. When I got there, no one gave me an update of the car they only gave me a receipt with 3 pieces of paper and that is it. What can I do in this case? I can not drive this car knowing the brakes will go out and I might have an accident and crash.

Driving home about 25 mph, front passenger tire blew. Put donut spare on,. Took to dealer next morning. Front control arm bushing torn out of control. This is dangerous and should not have happened.

Questions answered below: what component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? the vehicle is at a gm dealership now and is available for inspection. I have not authorized repairs as of yet. I am being told by the dealership: the ball joint on the control arm on the left side seized snapping the axle shaft - causing the tire to to turn out. The dealership has suggested: mechanical repair costs $1,850, plus an additional $2,000 due to wheel well damage caused by the failure. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? I am being told by the dealership: the ball joint on the control arm on the left side seized snapping the axle shaft - causing the tire to to turn out. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? due to my slow speed turning out of the parking lot ~10 mph - the vehicle came to a sudden halt. However, had this occurred while driving any faster - it would have been very dangerous and put myself and others at significant risk. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? it was towed by aaa and has been inspected by the gm dealership. That is the only inspection thus far. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? earlier in the day while pulling out of a parking spot and turning the wheel to the left I thought I felt some type of resistance then it went away as I started driving. No other symptoms or warning prior to the failure.

The first incident started on 08/16/2024, 2 days after buying the vehicle used from dealership. I started getting notifications stating "service-front camera not available" and sure enough, I no longer had a front camera, which then means I no longer have front collision alerts. Then I started getting the random notifications to drive carefully because drivers assistance has been reduced, and now my vehicle's fan will randomly run for up to 30 minutes after it has been shut off and even after a less than 2 mile drive to gas station and back home, it does this. Last item is the vehicle pulls to the right, and I have not hit anything nor has it ever been in an accident prior to my purchase, and my brakes squeal horribly, which shouldn't be happening condidering I haven't even driven the vehicle 5,000 miles in the year since I bought it !.
The esc display came up then sutbality sensor show and my back wheel went right. My car flipped twice and then landed on the guardrail.
Chevy Blazer has low milage. However, it still has several electrical issues radio at engine start goes to loudest point and car seats move backwards at awkward times which can cause an accident. Suspension very off guard, truck drifts to the sides while driving and makes an awkward sound when turning steering wheel. The complete break / steering system is off and may cause an accident if not properly take care right away. I have no money to do this big job. Please remediate.

I was driving about 35mph going straight when my chevy Blazer acted as if it hit a brick wall and came to a complete stop. I got out and noticed my right, front wheel was completely smashed into my car. Something had come loose internally and locked up my wheel. It damaged my car so bad where my suspension was damaged. It had to be towed. It was non drivable. My vehicle only had 1300 miles on it. I decided at last minute to not get on highway.
"takata recall" vehicle acted like it wanted to only go right and I couldn't turn left and ended up hitting the guardrail on the right side of the road and almost totalled the vehicle. Didn't know about any recall so I went to junkyard to get whole front end, fenders, hood and pretty much every thing on front of vehicle except for motor. But did replace fan on motor. Cost in parts only was approx. $700. 00 (have receipts). Not including labor! & time and cost spent not having a vehicle until fixed. Also no airbags deployed!.

The contact owns a 1998 Chevrolet Blazer. While driving 50 mph, the contact heard a loud banging sound and discovered that the rear passenger side tire detached from the vehicle. As a result, the vehicle dropped to the pavement. In addition, all of the bolts sheared off, the lug nut was missing, and the rotor was destroyed. The quarter panel and the bumper were bent. The vehicle was not diagnosed, but the contact was able to re-attach the tire to the vehicle and replace the studs. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.
While driving vehicle pulled to the right own its own. Consumer drove the vehicle to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic could not duplicate the problem.
We leased a 2004 chevy Blazer in July of 2004, this vehicle rocks, shimmies, shakes, rattles, hard to handle at higher speeds, even when standing still and there is traffic going by at 45 mph the vehicle rocks, so it is not safe at any speed. Took it back to the dealer sundance Chevrolet in grand ledge mi, they could not find anything wrong, but did do some repair work on the transmission. Chevrolet would not even go into arbitration, but did put a 90,000 bumper to bumper warranty on the vehicle. When driving the vehicle in high winds it feels as it you are on a roller coaster ride.
While driving at 60 mph there was a vibration throughout the vehicle. Dealer informed consumer that vibration was normal. Dealer showed consumer docket id# 1381844, stating that Chevrolet was aware of the problem, and an attempt to repair was unnecessary.

I have a 2000 Blazer lt 4wd with 44,000 miles on it. I recently started experiencing vibrations at highway speeds. My dealer verified the problem. According to a gm document, there is no fix to this problem. According to gm document id# 1381844. The document is entitled "vibration at highway speeds-suspension wheel #pi01273b - (09/15/2003). The document explains the problem & symptoms exactly as described in many of these discussions. There is a line in this document that reads: this vibration is considered a normal characteristic for these vehicles and no repair attempts should be made. " this document covers 2 & 4wd drive gm vehicles with the same body types (I. E. Blazers, jimmy, bravada, s-10, envoy) and covers years 00 - 03. This vehicle is unsafe for use on the highway!! if this was "normal" why didn't the vehicle do this when it was new? I called chevy's customer service line and they verified the document. They told me to take it to another dealer for a second opinion after that I guess I'm out of luck. . Read more...

Vehicle is locking up and sliding all over the highway. Can be riding along, and all of a sudden vehicle slides to the right. Has had near accidents in three different places.
Periodically the vehicle would shift to right. Dealer was unable to find defect. Then, vehicle began to make loud noises. While consumer was driving on highway vehicle shifted very hard to right. Consumer lost control of vehicle, and crashed into another vehicle on right. Vehicle then flipped over. GMC and insurance CO. Currently have incident under investigation.
While traveling on highway vehicle has a knocking noise. When turning the wheel and if hitting a bump noise gets louder . Dealership is aware of problem.
This could have been a fatal accident if it occurred on a highway at a greater rate of speed as the SUV would have rolled-over.
While driving about 45 mph he could hear a rumbling noise (like a flat tire), and felt vibration coming from the steering wheel.
Before we purchased this vehicle, we noticed the rumble in it, the dealership assured us it would be fixed when we picked it up . Upon driving it for a day or so we realized the rumble was still there. We called the dealership and they took it back in to check it. Could not find the probelm, they contacted gm. As of yet nothing has been done to remedy the problem. It is very frustrating driving a vehicle that rumbles at every stop. We have called Chevrolet, but they offer very little in answers. We don't know if anyone else is having this problem or if ours is vehicle is just a fluke.
While driving on highway above 55mph noticed vehicle vibrationg, which it got worse. Took vehicle to the dealer. They kept it for about a month. Also, while driving on highway at 65mph started to pass another vehicle, hit a bump in the road, lost control and started shaking. Just as quickly as it started shaking, it had stopped. Dealer checked the tires.
Engine check light soon comes on & at 35 miles per hour the car vibrates upon stopping the car almost shuts off.
While driving on the highway noticed when going over bumps that the wheels would vibrate very badly. Vehicle also pulled to the right. Contacted dealer and they said that this was normal.
After approximately 30,000 miles, my leased s-10 Blazer developed a vibration that is noticeable when driving above 60 mph. The vibration is most noticeable at 65 to 70 mph. The local dealer in roanoke, va has acknowledged that there is a vibration problem, but has been unable to fix the problem. They also told me that they had seen the same problem in other Blazers with the new body style (same as mine).
