1996 crewcab duley 3500 problems with early ware of brake. Rotors turned at 12000 and now replacing brake pads every few thousand miles due to excesive ware. Dealers have had truck in at least 10 times for breaking issues since purchase in 1996. Put new pads on in Dec and at 2000 miles they are being replace again. Major wear to the pads.

The brakes overheated and they smoked when driving on long steep grades, also when down shifting, it was difficult to slow or stop. The brakes were not adequate for the weight of the vehicle. The brake pads were replaced, the rotors were resurfaced, the rear brake drums were cleaned, and the brake shoes were adjusted. (this did not fix the problem) the vehicle continued to experience these problems. The dealer representative suggested the consumer purchase a 2001 model which had the revised braking system.

Premature wear of brake pads and drums. Dealer has put 4 sets of pads and drums on vehicle. Consumer states that rear drums do not adjust properly, which cause the front brake pads to wear at approximately 10000 miles, sometimes brakes smoke and rattle.

Vehicles brakes do not release they stick frequently wearing brake pads out. The vehicle has been in service 7 times for brake problems and dealer state they cannot find anything wrong. However they have replaced the brake pads 3 times due to irregular brake ware on the pad. The brakes will pull servely to the left at any given time causing vehicle to pull to the left into other lane of traffic.
Under normal driving brakes pull to the right when they are applied. Contacted dealer and manufacturer. They had pads and brakes replaced three times. Vehicle is in the shop right now.
