While driving my 2010 chevy Camaro ss on the interstate home from work all of a sudden I lost power all my interior lights and dashboard warning lights started to flash on and off car would surge then lose power than surge lose power steering was very difficult had no brakes merged over to the shoulder to try to get into a safe position and was calling nine-one-one when I noticed smoke coming out of the left front compartment of the Camaro under the hood and then the smoke turn to a rust burnt looking color and then noticed that the hood was starting to banned from the heat underneath it and at this time I tried to get out of the vehicle but the electrical system was burnt and had to use a pair of pliers to open up the door lock because my interior door locks would not function got out of the car called nine-one-one and within 5 minutes there was flames coming up from underneath the hood the hood kind of popped open and flames took over the whole front of the car and the engine compartment fire truck of course got the fire out but the car was a total loss.

Car comes equipped with eps (electric power steering assist). I have had two occasions since ownership where power steering ceases to work while I'm driving and the vehicle is in motion. The first occurrence happened at around 8k miles and I was on the freeway. I lost power steering while driving! I took it to autonation Chevrolet in austin TX and they replaced a connector. I received the car back and then at 11,000 miles it occurred again: https://youtu. Be/rrnmxbnkxwm -- this time I take it back and show them the video as well and the dealer tells me because they can't replicate the issue, they refuse to replace the steering torque sensor or steering rack (which have been found to be the culprits of these issues. ) for the reason that gm will not reimburse them if they can't replicate the issue and they need to wait till it fully breaks. . . . . . They also literally told me that it switches to manual steering and that it should still be okay. . And this is a $50,000 car. . This is not okay, if I lose power steering in the middle of a critical turn unexpectedly, it could very well put me into a ditch.
I have reported multiple problems with my car to the dealership. The first was with my monitor it would work intermittently. The phone, the radio, at times it wouldn't even turn on. I was told that I had to bring it in when my car was acting up. Finally it acted up brought it in and showed them immediately but they had to keep my car for a month to recreate the problem before agreeing to fix it. Monitor finally replaced. Now my car intermittently loses its power steering. The first incident happened multiple times I finally snapped the picture on March 1st. Took car in and was told an update needed to be run and that it would never happen again. Wrong may 30th power steering went out during a downpour of rain and remained out for two days before it recovered. Took to the dealer was there 1 1/2 hours and was told they couldn't find anything wrong. Was told I need to come back when it's happening. I have pictures showing the car says service is needed but yet when I take the car in nothing's wrong. When I called I was told the earliest appointment was on Monday which is the day I brought my car in. How many times do I have to be inconvenienced before my car is fixed? this car is a lemon. The monitor was replaced and the car wasn't even a year old. The power steering is getting worse each time and is going out for longer periods of time. This has happened both times when my car has been in motion on city streets and has happened both going straight and has gone out while I was turning. Very unsafe won't go on a highway because this is dangerous. I will upload both pictures of the dash showing the monitor stating " service power steering drive with care. ".
