2 Steering Failed problem of the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 06/16/2019

Feb 2019, I received a call from the chevy dealer where I purchased my Camaro back in April 2017, stating that my vehicle has a safety recall which effect the electric power steering. I read up on the recall which stated, the electric steering can fail while operating the vehicle which will make it hard to steer. I contacted the dealer to bring my car in for service, they told me that there was no remedy for the recall and that they will reach out to me when they have one. Manufacturer recall number n182182760. Nhtsa recall number, 19v086 it is now June 2019 and on 6/16/19, I was driving my car about 15-20mph, driving around a roundabout and my steering wheel locked on me, causing me to wreck my car which caused my seat and overhead airbags to deploy along with suspension, wheel and body damage. I had the wheel turned left going around the circle and as I was trying to turn the steering wheel back to the right to exit the roundabout, my steering wheel locked, causing me to run over top of the curb striking my wheels on the edge of the steel sewer and back into the street striking the left side of my vehicle on an island exiting the roundabout which caused my airbags to deploy. Once my airbags deployed my engine and electrical was shut down automatically. I did suffer a hard impact on my left shoulder from the airbag. Gm finally came up with a remedy this month 6/2019 for the recall. A representative from the dealer gave me gm's customer service number to call and report the incident. I had to file an insurance claim with my insurance and if my car is repairable, I would have to pay my deductible and suffer higher insurance rates all because of a recall that gm fail to repair in a timely manner. Progressive claim 19-1239901.

3 Steering Failed problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 04/15/2014

I saw spots of liquid on my driveway and when I checked my car's various fluid levels, the power steering fluid was so low it didn't show on the dip stick. I contacted my dealer service center and made an appointment right away. They discovered that the inner seal on the steering gear had failed. It was not due to an accident, collision, hitting a pothole or anything caused by me. This was a factory failure and a problem that is very rare on cars with mileage that low (so I was told). The car was just over 5000 miles outside its factory warranty and the repair cost me $1034. 07. Fortunately, the power steering pump was not damaged from being completely out of fluid or the repair would have been even more costly. The most disturbing thing is that I had absolutely no warning of this problem at all. It was a sudden and complete failure.

4 Steering Failed problem of the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 01/30/2014

I just bought a 2010 chevy Camaro on December 30th from a certified pre-owned car dealer and within a month later the power-steering pump fails and I have no power steering. It was one of the coldest days in the single digits, it's been a very bad winter for the northeast part of the us. In less then an hour before this happened the car was driving normally from supermarket to pharmacy to the restaurant where I bought lunch, which are all in a 7/8 block radius from my home. When I got home I couldn't find a place to park near my house because there isn't a whole lot of parking spaces in south philadelphia where I live, plus there's a corner bar on the corner who's customers don't live around here, so I parked about a block away. Not even an hour later a spot opened up in front of my house so I decided to go and get my car which when I found out the power steering was gone I was trying to turn the corner and trying to park my car took a lot of pain-staking force to turn the steering wheel and that is when I wrenched my lower back out and I was in pain. I'm disabled because I was in a car accident back in 2006 when I was working for a limousine company. I have bad lower back injuries consisting of herniated, bulging and ruptured discs. I was trying to turn the steering wheel to park and I wrenched out my lower back so bad that I'm laid up in bed. After doing some research online it seems I'm not the only one who is going through this problem or who's been through this problem many times over with the same power steering problem. When it's bitterly cold out the power steering pump breaks. I don't know why this isn't a recall yet because it's a part not covered under the power train warranty or the 5 years or 100k miles which ever comes first. So now I can't drive this car in the cold weather and where I live gets cold in the winter. This should be a recall please.
