I too experienced premature brake and rotor failure and had to replace both before the car was 2 years old. The dealership did nothing to satisfy me. I had to have them replaced right away and could not wait for an appointment with the dealership so I did just that. Later, when discussing it with a service advisor, I was told it was the traffic in my area. Yeah, sure. Just because I am a woman he expected me to buy into that? I had 20,000 +/- miles on the car at the time! I don't at this moment have exact mileage and date information on me.

When brakes are applied they engage and release which causes extended stopping distance. The vehicle stops when the brake pedal is slammed on, which engages the abs. The dealership has checked the brake rotors , pads, all components in the front suspension and tires. They we fine. The cause of the failure is still unknown.

I have noticed excessive brake fad at speeds of higher than 50 miles per hour, but not in excess of 65 miles per hour. The problem also happens when the roads are little more than damp. It would seem that the brake pads and/or shoes are either too small for the car or the material is not of good quality. I have 2 other Chevrolet vehicles that do not have this problem. Only my 2004 Cavalier has this problem.

While applying the brakes vehicle would jerk forward. A loud noise was heard coming from the front. Consumer drove the vehicle to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic replaced the brake pads, and both frontal rotors because they wore out prematurely. Consumer informed the mechanic brakes pads were replaced two to three months ago, and this problem occurred more than once.

I had to replace my brake pads about 4 months after I bought my car, now it seems that I have to replace them again, I know I drive alot by 6months of buying a car you should not need brake pads that much. I think there is something wrong within the braking systems that is causing the pads to worn too fast, I think this needs to be checked out quickly.
Consumer stated when brakes were applied there was a delay in braking. Cause was unknown. Please provide any further information. When the road is wet, the braking distance is the length of two telephone poles. Vehicle was taken to the dealership five times but they weren't able to duplicate the problem. Consumer was told bring the vehicle back when its raining. Consumer did so and each time they stated they were busy. Mechanic wrote one repair order. Consumer installed new rotors and pads which helped a little bit. Consumer believed the problem is the anti lock.
Brake rotors are worn on 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier. (nar) rotors deteriorated in a short period of time with relatively low mileage, and consumer believed that rotors should be replaced after less than 45,000 miles.
`I have had the rotors replaced twice and turned twice with brake pads. Three of these were completed before the warranty expired.
Vehicle experienced premature wear of front brake pads. Dealer has replaced them.
