Brake Foundation Components Problems of Chevrolet Cavalier

I own a 2005 chevy Cavalier. I have also experienced premature brake and rotor failure. At 39,000 km both had to be replaced. The dealer said the cause was road conditions etc,,and offered no help whatsoever complained to gm several times,but have not got any satisfaction yet!.

: the contact stated since purchase the brakes have been replaced two times due to the rotors warping and a noise was heard coming from the rear brakes. The first brake replacement was at 3,000 miles on the vehicle. On may 23, 2006 while making turns at 20 mph, the steering wheel froze. In an attempt to free the steering, the contact pulled the wheel so hard that something broke within the steering column. The vehicle is currently at the dealership therefore, it is uncertain as to what repairs are necessary to correct the problem. There was a noise coming from the front of the vehicle. The dealer replaced the sway bar insulator. Updated 06/16/06.

Premature wear of brake pads and rotors since date of purchase. Consumer stated brake pads had to be replaced and rotors were turned, consumer has had 3 sets of brake pads on vehicle.

Brakes screach and vehicle wobbles when applying brakes. Wheels feel like they are going to fall off. Brakes have been repaired twice within a few months.

Consumer experienced shaking in the front when braking, dealer turned rotors and found that 60% of brake pads were left, consumer is worried that this happened with such low mileage on vehicle.

Vehicle makes a popping sound when turning corners. Dealer says it's not a safety defect, it's a nuisance. Vehicle is going back to the dealer because currently one can feel noise when applying brakes. Problem has gotten worse.

When driving at any speed and applying the brakes they will go straight to the floorboard and hardly stop the vehicle. Also consumer is having problems with the windshield.

While driving 65 mph vehicle suddenly accelerated, causing loss of control, also, vehicle caught on fire due to pressure of applying the brakes. Cause unknown.

The front rotors have been turned and replaced on numerous occasions, right and left rear drum have been replaced as well as the cylinder.

Whenever brakes are applied, can hear rear brakes scrubbing. The problem is intermittent. They would hold sometimes.

When brakes are applied on wet pavemants the vehicle slides. Owner states that the brakes have been repaired three times by the dealer.

During wet weather the brake pedal is very hard when pressed and you must apply excessive force to get the vehicle to stop. Had pads deglazed and rotors resurfaced but the problem continues during wet weather.
