We feel that 2006 Chevrolet Colorado pickup we purchased has a defective front end. Front tire inside tread wore off at 10,000 miles. At approximately 22,000 miles is doing same thing. Front end is pigeon toed?? dealer says it is because we didn't rotate tires. We don't believe them!! our mechanic doesn't either!! we think it is a defective front end!.

7 Front Suspension problem of the 2005 Chevrolet Colorado

Failure Date: 10/01/2006

I had been noticing mild vibration at highway speeds and mild pull during braking. I accidentally discovered I had severe inside edge tire wear after only 30,000 miles on the vehicle. I went online and found a TSB relating to the tire wear. I brought this to the attention of my dealer, who replaced the front tires and adjusted the "z" height of the front suspension. 5,000 miles later, I again found severe inside edge wear on my front tires, which the dealership claimed was due to a misalignment which they adjusted. Recent inspection of my tires again showed continued, severe, inside tire wear, at 46000 miles. Obviously, the dealership and manufacturer have not acted strongly enough to correct the problem. Had I not accidentally discovered the tire wear when I did, I might of had a front end blowout at highway speeds.

Took vehicle to dealership for excessive wear of inside of the front tires. Since vehicle was at 13000 miles the factory warranty was no longer covered for any repair. Dealership was not going to cover anything. They were going to charge a $40 fee just to evaluate the problem. Since the front end was out of alignment the fee was waived and was charged $59. 95 for the alignment. Took vehicle to a tire store and paid for a new set of tires for a total repair of over $200. The inspection station refused to inspect the vehicle due to tire ware and improper front alignment. I made an appointment at the dealership to check the problem and vehicle inspection. The dealer informed me my vehicle had to many miles on it for the warranty to cover it. I have not had the vehicle for a year yet and the alignment is already out and tires are worn. Looking at you site I can see problems with these vehicles for the front end alignment. The dealer rotated my tires and inspected my vehicle.
