The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Colorado. The contact stated while her husband was driving 50 mph, he smelled an abnormal fuel odor coming from the vehicle. He pulled over and noticed that the fuel gauge had indicated that the fuel was empty. With the help of his CO-workers, her husband was able to push the vehicle into his job's parking lot. The contact then called the dealer where she was informed that they could not inspect the vehicle for another three weeks. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA campaign number: 18v358000 (fuel system, gasoline) which she linked to the failure however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified about the failure and informed her that her vehicle was not included in the recall. The vehicle was towed to a CO-worker’s home where he was informed that the high-pressure fuel pump was defective and the part was replaced. The vehicle was repaired. I purchased a brand new 2016 Chevrolet Colorado duromax diesel in September of 2016. At 9,638 miles the check engine light came on for the nox sensor. The dealership replaced them but it did not fix anything. As it turns out the issue was a recall which reprogrammed the ecu. They decided to make the tolerances looser on the sensors. At 10,647 miles there was a loud wining coming from the rear of the vehicle. The race to the pinion bearing in the rear differential was pitted and causing the bearing to fail. The rear differential needed to be rebuilt. At 22715 miles the truck would go into reduced power mode which is 25 miles per hour in the middle of the freeway causing other motorists to swerve to avoid a collision. When the truck was turned off and turned back on the error would clear and the vehicle was drivable again. The dealership could not replicate the issue so it took many visits before they replaced the accelerator pedal position sensor. After this did not fix the issue and almost caused another accident the vehicle was taken in and the complete wiring harness was replace. The technician stated that the connectors were improperly crimped at the factory. The truck is now at the dealership again at 26,000 miles to replace the diesel exhaust fluid pump. This fault also causes the vehicle to go into reduced power mode which almost caused an accident again. This vehicle is not reliable, dangerous, and I do not feel safe driving it, especially when my family is with me. I contacted Chevrolet customer assistance team concentrix on behalf of Chevrolet to seek a solution on a brand new vehicle that had major problems. The representative did not care and told me to pursue a resolution on my own.
2008 Chevrolet Colorado. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle defective fuel gauge issues. The consumer stated he ran out of gas when the needle was at the one quarter mark. The GMC dealer stated there were no faults or codes found. However, they did read the consumer a TSB dated 2/15 acknowledging the problem, but offered no solution.

Went to dealership in san angelo TX, did diagnostic for engine light being on dealership said problem was p0017 (cam acuator) did not have the money to fix it at the time dealership said it would be ok to drive it as is. Did reasearch online and looked it up on book at auto parts store and p0017 says this "crankshaft position camshaft position correlation - bank 1 sensor b" what ever that means. But now I have major problems I still have that and a few more codes I have p0014 exhaust camshaft position timing over - advanced (bank 1), and p0300 random misfire detected.
My truck often times fails to start. After 10 minutes the truck may or may not start. The longest I have had to wait was 30 minutes at night before it has started. My truck stopped on me in the middle of traffic and did not restart. I am a single parent with a child and have been stranded several times. This is the worse vehicle I have ever owned.

This vehicle got 25 mile to the gallon on the road and 20 in town but since the pcm went out it gets about 18 on the road and 13 in town. They hook it up to a computer and it says everything is fine but that doesn't explain the poor fuel performance and chevy will not do anything to correct since the computer says it runs fine.

The fire department was called and determined the fire originated underneath the cab of the vehicle where the fuel filter was located. The vehicle was towed to the dealership where the dealership contacted the manufacturer. The manufacturer sent an independent inspector to inspect the vehicle and determined the problem was a defective fuel filter.
2004 Colorado fuel filter was replaced at 22,300. The fuel connector came loose cause fuel to spill out. A year and some months later, the consumer discovered fuel leaking profusely from the fuel filter connector (between the filter and the engine). The consumer snapped the connector back in to place.

I n the morning, when he started the vehicle, he went back into the house, came back, and the vehicle was burning. Contact believes the problem started in the engine.
