Ongoing problem with diesel fuel leak which began in October 2017. Will be returning to the dealer on 27 March 2018 for cause search of the problem and repair. Dealer confirmed one of the diesel fuel leaks during November 2017 was a leak at the fuel pump and a loose fuel line. Problem has returned after 3900 miles of use. Diesel fumes permeate the cabin and diesel fuel covers the driver's side of the truck from the front wheel well along the body to the rear left bumper. Have contacted Chevrolet corporate during November 2017 to make them aware of the problem and create a formal case report. Have started another case report with Chevrolet as of Friday (23 March 2018) to seek a permanent and durable resolution to this problem.
Fuel pump weld crack, service 4wd message displayed, clunking in rear end all dismissed repeatedly from dealership I purchased my vehicle from. I bought this truck new off the lot which has been in the shop in excess of 10 times for multiple issues. The 4x4 started November 2017 I was told it was because we were having abnormally cold weather and it would come out of it. It has been in multiple times since then and they were unable to duplicate. Clunking in rear was dismissed as nothing, could not duplicate. I started smelling burning plastic, then when starting my vehicle in the morning the exhaust smell was so overpowering that it would gag us. The burning plastic smell was intermittent while driving and that was only after driving the truck between 2 to 20 or the full drive home and sometimes not at all. I had been nodding off, getting massive headaches and sick to my stomach while driving my truck, so was my daughter. No matter what they had my truck for, they could not duplicate the issue and I had a loaner for a week at a time. I took my vehicle to another dealership who just ended up sealing my pickup box, replacing fuel pump module, installed a body plug per a bulletin, per bulletin applied lubricant to both rear leaf springs and torqued leaf springs to specs. Transfer case control module had a bulletin for which my dealer stated they put dielectric lubricant. I was driving a vehicle with my child in it with carbon monoxide poisoning us based on the symptoms we were both suffering, exactly when would that have been duplicated, at autopsy???? I don't trust this truck, I don't want to drive this truck, I hate this truck now and I am stuck with 5 years of payments and something that tried to kill me. How is that for safety!!!! my opinion only!!!.

The passlock anti-theft device keeps my vehicle from starting thinking it's being stolen. . Disabling the fuel pump. . This is a safety issue and has also made me late for work several times and stranded. It started occurring this year July 22, 2017 with no prior incidents. It's occurring on a regular interval and it's getting to the point that I cant rely on my vehicle to start as normal. Please let there be a recall on getting the manufacturer general motors to fix this on my Colorado as it's the only fault on this vehicle. The faulty passlock systems should be a recalled item since it will disable the fuel pump and having to wait 10 minutes for the the system to reset at unknown or unsafe places. I am a single mother with two kids and I rely on my vehicle to commute to and from school and work. Luckily the incidents have occurred at work, at home, at walmart parking lot. . But who knows when the system decided as it gets worst. My seventeen year old son has taken the vehicle out and I'm always worried about this safety due to this faulty passlock anti-theft device. The vehicle has 181,450 miles, no check engine lights show on dash. . Other than this issue. . It's the only reason the vehicle is mostly parked in my driveway. . Only myself will take the drive it for short distances. I wish and hope to have the manufacturer render a needed recall on this passlock anti-theft device system.

Greg rice [mailto:grjorice@hotmail. Com] safe car. Gov subject: fire hazard 2007 chevy Colorado to whom it may concern: I own a 2007 Chevrolet Colorado pick-up truck, with 86,000 miles. Recently I noticed a gasoline smell coming from under the vechicle. Upon inspection, I observed a stream of gas spraying from the metal elbow coming off the top of the fuel pump assembly, which connects to the fuel line. After removing the gas tank, I saw the entire top of the fuel pump assembly was badly rusted. To me, this is an extreme fire hazard caused by premature rusting of the top of the fuel pump assembly. I feel this is something that should be looked into given the seriousness of the matter. Thank you, greg rice.

Fuel pump control module sent a code indicating an open circuit. Gm has a recall but of course mine is not part of it. The engine would stall without notice. Cost $320 to fix.

The passlock system has become more of an issue with this vehicle. The vehicle will not start almost two to three times a week. Not only does this come at the most un-opportune time after 10 minutes or more to wait for the system to reset. After reading this post, I see that I am not the only one with this problem. I have had to wait up to 30 minutes sometimes to get the truck started again. His has become more of a problem. So far there has not been a dangerous situation where this problem has happened. But it gets to a point that your afraid to turn the engine off, for fear of being stranded somewhere. The truck had been to the dealer many times tor this problem they were unble to fine out what was wrong. They replaced the ignition switch, inside the steering column and the problem stopped. The fuel pump on the vehicle failed and the vehicle was leaking gas and that had to be replaced and the vent valve on the gas tank just failed and had to be replaced (76,000 miles). Thank you for your consideration.
The fuel pump is leaking at the top of tank. I had a strong smell of gas outside and inside the vehicle. 2006 chevy Colorado has 80582 miles on it and the fuel pump housing has rusted a hole in it. It is simply ridiculous that I have had so many problems with this truck since I have owned it. I would recommend that nobody purchase one of these trucks.
