3 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2019 Chevrolet Colorado

Failure Date: 08/22/2019

The gas tank/gauge will be on "full", then-while driving, the gas gauge will go to "e" and the dash will alert you as to no fuel. Upon taking this vehicle to the dealer the first time, the dealer could find no issues through the computer. The "second" occurrence-the vehicle was taken to a different dealer, and they stated the fuel level sensor needed to be replaced. The "third" occurrence-the gauge went to "e", while driving, the dealer claimed it was now a cord/wire that attached to the fuel level sensor running the length of the vehicle under the truck. Since it "appears" the resolution to this issue is questionable, and the dealer(s) have not fully corrected the issue, how can I be confident the vehicle actually has fuel? also, there is an issue with the blue tooth linking to "I-phones/ios systems (only), not android phone/systems,as call/text notifications may not always alert while you are in the vehicle. The first dealer stated they contacted gm, but so far-there is no final resolution from gm regarding the blue tooth issue with I-phones/ios systems. I do have all receipts for all actions taken regarding this vehicle.

4 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2005 Chevrolet Colorado

Failure Date: 08/06/2018

I started tp smell gas in my garage and thought maybe I just overfilled the tank but as the days went on the smell increased. About 2 weeks later, the check engine light went on and I took the car to my mechanic . He told me the fuel tank was ruptured on the top where the metal coupling met the plastic. I was very surprised because I never saw any gas on my garage floor. Then I realized that I not only could have had a fire in my car but also in my garage which is attached to my house. The mechanic said that the problem was the plastic fuel tank but I don't care what type of material it was I only know I could have easily killed both myself and my wife. I have the $2,000 repair bill from the mechanic as evidence but not the fuel tank.

9 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Colorado

Failure Date: 05/09/2013

I would like to alert you to a design flaw causing a very serious safety issue with the chevy Colorado trucks. On the pre-dawn morning of may 9, 2013, I was driving my 15 miles to work when I began smelling a very strong raw gasoline odor in the cab. I pulled off the road and found gasoline dripping heavily between the cab and bed of the truck. I immediately shut down the truck and left it where it was. Upon later examination, I found where the pressurized plastic fuel line had ruptured. The rupture was on the top of the plastic fuel line toward the front of the gas tank. Over time, the plastic fuel line was rubbing against the top bed of the truck whenever the truck went over a bump. I have searched the internet and found other chevy Colorado truck situations like this, some causing vehicle fires and personal burn injuries. Kirk wieneke.

10 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2006 Chevrolet Colorado

Failure Date: 03/15/2012

I bought this truck a little over 2 months ago. Since purchasing the truck the check engine light came on, I had to have the gas tank float/fuel sending unit replaced, I had to have the ac repaired because the ac would turn on and then constantly turn on and off at first and then it stopped working all together, I had to have transmission seal replaced because it started leaking, and now I have this awful vibration when I accelerate and I have to keep the window cracked open because the sound of the vibration inside the truck is so loud it makes me feel like my head is going to explode. I was not made aware of any problems with this truck as a matter of fact the dealer told me the truck had just been serviced, the oil was changed and there were no problems with the truck. I realize that I bought a used vehicle and it's not going to be in perfect brand new condition but this is ridiculous so now I am stuck with a truck that has many problems that Chevrolet has been obviously aware of since the beginning and I am out the money I paid for the truck. I can't afford to spend all this money to keep fixing this truck just for something else to have to be fixed. I was told that I don't have grounds to file a complaint based on the lemon law and the dealer won't let me trade this truck for something else or fix the problems so I'm stuck.

11 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Colorado

Failure Date: 10/15/2010

2007 Chevrolet Colorado caught on fire around gas tank while driving down the street. Pulled over and entire area around gas tank and part of cab engulfed in flames. Had to crawl out passenger side door. Burnt left arm and side of face. Fire dept came and put out fire. Was not the result of purchasing gas. Had 1/2 tank of gas when this took place. Don't know what started the fire. Insurance company investigating cause. Scary, don't want this to happen to anyone else. Will not ever purchase a small truck again.
