Airbag light comes on due to faulty electrical connector underneath driver power seat. This is an extremely common issue that gm is aware of. There should be a recall by gm due to being a life safety system.

Air bag light comes on and off. Seems to me its could be something electrical, cause it doesn't stay on all the time. Seems like this should be a safety recall but I'm the 4th owner of this Corvette so dont know if there was a recall and it never got fixed. Thanks. It comes on and no set pattern for the air bag light to come on. Sometimes it doesn't come on for a week or two and sometimes it stays on.

Last week the red air bag light located on the instrument panel on my 2010 Corvette came on indicating there is a problem with the operations of my air bag, an important safety item required on vehicles by federal law. Doing some web research, I found a service bulletin #15643 dated for vehicles repaired on or after 4/21/16. While the 10-page notice provides all the details, in short, a connector was defective. Taking my vehicle to my local Chevrolet dealer today, I was informed that my vehicles problem was due to a connector that was unplugged, probably due to seat movement. So, my exact same problem that g. M. Is covering on the driver's side it is not covering the exact problem on the passenger seat? I am certain the connector on the passenger side of the vehicle was designed by the same engineer that designed the one on the driver's side. I am certain they were both manufactured by the same vendor. I am certain the materials are the same. The resulting problem is the same. The passenger side connector problem is the same as the driver's side and g. M. Should reimburse me for the cost of the repair.

Air bag light comes on frequently during normal driving. Car has never been in an accident and is in excellent condition otherwise. Air bag light will turn off intermittently during normal driving with no explanation.

Took off in first gear quickly to get across traffic and noticed the air bag light came on. Shut the car off for a while and started it again and the light is still on which means the air bag system is not operable.

Airbag light intermittently lights, when I havent adjusted the seats and not speeding. Seems to be a common occurence with Corvette owners. Saw it a few times before but it stopped before I took it into the dealers for service.

During harder acceleration, the airbag warning indicator light comes on. After the engine is turned off and restarted, the indicator is off. This condition has only occurred with heavy acceleration, but happens every time.

Dealers refuse to repair vehicle stating the extended special coverage has expired. Airbag light will not shut off due to wire harness problem and gm knows about the problem. I tried to get the car repaired but local dealer did not have the parts. And the coverage expired. . I receive the notice in may 2016. My car met the mileage standard, less than 120 k miles and within 10 years of ownership.

Airbag light is on. Connector under drivers seat wiring is too short and wire bundle pulled with seat movement. Bundle frayed and one wire pulled out. The seat moves in and out every time I get into and out of the car. Owned the car since new and dealer had removed the seat for service several years ago, possibly reinstalled incorrectly.

Air bag light on instrument panel goes on and off . Came on yesterday then went off again . Seems like this may be caused by the seat moving to different positions. I contacted other people with this same style vehicle and they are having the same problem. All the dealer wants to do is change parts for a lot of money. With as many complaints they are getting this should be corrected. Light came on when car was started. The car has a memory seat that moves back when the driver exits the vehicle. .

Air bag light stays on on instrument cluster. Found out thru research on the Corvette forum and talking to chevy dealerships that this is a very common problem. Usually fixed by unplugging and cleaning or tie wrapping the connector under the seats. Which usually keeps the light out temporarily. But it comes back on eventually and disables the airbag so it won't work in a crash. Gm needs to fix this serious problem. (different type connector maybe)I believe it effects cars from 2005-2013. I for one don't want to lose my life because they didn't want to invest in a couple dollar connector. Do you??.

Airbag light comes on intermittently for no apparent reason.

The air bag light on the dashboard appears during vehicle acceleration, while in motion, indicating that the air bag system is no longer functioning. To add insult to injury, I brought the vehicle to gordon Chevrolet (address below) for service. The dealer changed the front impact sensors of the vehicle at my cost. Upon receiving the vehicle back, it immediately reported that the airbag system was still not functioning correctly (air bag light). To this date the dealer refuses to acknowledge the issue, would not refund me for misdiagnoses and will not return my phone calls regarding a remedy to the issue. The airbag light came on while driving at 35-45 mph speeds and stayed on. The light did not go off after turning the vehicle off and on again.

Airbag light on dash turns on and off intermittently while the car is in motion. Speed does not effect the problem. Problem reported to gm dealer and they replaced drivers seat belt tensioner after about 100 miles of travel problem returned. Am very concerned air bags will not function in the event of an accident.

Red air bag light started coming on intermittently and has continued doing it for the past 6 years. The past 4 months or so it now stays on constantly.

Airbag light on constantly. Never turns off. So airbag is not working. This is a life or death situation that is gms responsibility. I have researched it and it is a very widely known problem that they refuse to repair. How many deaths is too many?.

Air bag light goes on if I move the drivers seat forward past a certain point. Dealer replaced the wiring harness 2 years ago but the problem did not go away.

Since ownership starting 09/28/12 I have had multiple incidents of the air bag light for the passenger side illuminate. It is intermittent and comes and goes randomly. I just got it back from the dealer after complaining about it and they said they couldn't do anything since there were no codes in the computer. I'm a member of the Corvette forum and have seen numerous postings concerning this problem. It seems to be the connector under the drivers seat that is designed so it drags and catches on the carpet thus moving the connector and its wiring. The dealer made no attempt to contact Chevrolet technical assistance about this and just sent me on my way out the door. They did not attempt to check the wires under the seat when I asked about that. On one trip about a month ago I had a passenger on board and the passenger airbag indicator said it was still off when he was sitting there.

Driving along at 45mph and the airbag indicator light came on. It has been coming on intermediately for a while now. . .

While driving at varying speeds, the air bag light will flash on and off randomly. This indicates a fault with the airbag system, and as a result the airbags are deactivated and will not provide protection to occupants. The car was taken to the dealer, upon which the front impact sensor was replaced. The problem then returned several days later. It would appear based on others' experiences with this issue that it is related to a wiring harness connector that is secured to the seat frame.

What are you waiting for? the c6 (2005-2013) Corvette has a serious check air bag light problem. There were 215,000 produced and most all of them have the problem and the dealers will not do anything. Many owners drive every day with the check air bag light on 100% of the time meaning the system will not work when needed. I have complained about this many times and other owners on the Corvette forum have also. There are around 20,000 members and we feel we are being icknored by the NHTSA and general motors. The Buick recall is for the exact same thing and the exact same thing is causing it. The wiring under the drivers seat. Are we waiting for a serious accident? please call me for more information.

Indicator light warning that the air bag system is not working began appearing intermittently. It seems to come on and off while hitting bumps or by readjusting the seat belt.

Airbag light comes on intermittently, many Corvette owners are having this safety issue, for numerous years. Mine is 2010.

When I accelerate hard from a stop and get to a high speed ( over 80 mph ) the airbag light comes on. When the airbag light is on all airbags are disabled. The only way to turn the light back of is to turn off the car and restart it. It will be fine until I accelerate quickly to a high speed. This car was made to drive fast and this shouldn't happen. I have taken to the dealer many times and they cannot fix it. This is a know problem with the Corvette as I have talk with other owners who have the same problem.

What are you waiting for? the c6 Corvette (2005-2013) has been reported hundreds of times for the check air bag light being randomly on and off. The problem is the same as the Buick that was recalled. Are we waiting for a death? I hope not. I am only one that has reported this many times in the last nine years. Check my previous complaints for a complete list of all the details even a letter from gm admitting they have known about the problem for years.
