Low sp crsh car shattered and fell apart at all weld points in the frame. Occupants wore seat belts. I was found in the road, my passenger died. The front of car broke off and back broke off all at the welded connections leaving the occupants exposed. Cast aluminum sections of the frame is where all the welds failed. Cast aluminum cannot be welded, unknown when I purchased car. Was not in manual or specs, or I would not have bought this piece of trash. Crash at speed of 40-50, country road on slight curve. Front wheel on right hit a culvert pipe.

Following the owner?s manual instruction to burnish the breaks, I took my car to an area where I could go from zero to 60 mph then break, 50 times in 10 minutes. On about the 40th cycle, the engine overheated and started to ?rev limit? and a warning came on that said to change the engine oil, which I just had done. The final ten cycles took a lot longer to get to 60. The hvac system was off during the procedure, the temp of the coolant got close to 320f, and the outside temperature said 103f. After the 50th run I drove the car at about 60 mph until the engine got to a safe temperature than I turned on the air and got the same toxic odor I experienced when I first took delivery. It made me sick to my stomach and I had to open the windows. I had gone through great lengths to get rid of that odor and thought it was at an acceptable level before the burnishing. I always left the windows open when parked in my garage, I put the car in the direct sun for several days with doors and back open, and the top off, and even left the engine running for six hours one day with the air on. I had also driven the car with the windows open for two hours with the heater at max temp. The odor was of such a concern that two doctors suggested I sell the car. Here in California 115f degrees or more is not uncommon, and often much higher on black pavement. I am concerned that I don?t know when the car might overheat again and produce more toxic fumes. I have taken the car to the dealer and the factory representative ignored the heating problem and said he could not smell anything other than the new car smell. They did change the oil free of charge and give me a ?2015 Corvette track preparation? flyer that specified different viscosity oil and a different burnishing procedure. Unfortunately there was no date or number on that flyer.

Many strange things started happening -- some intermittently. The options button sometimes shows "unavailable"; at other times, it works! the passenger window suddenly stopped rolling up completely when the door is shut, and must now be closed manually. The "heads up" speed projection stopped working, but then started working again with a different configuration than we had set before. The entire left bank of buttons stopped working completely. During an oil change, the doors locked and would not open with the key fob appropriately inside of the vehicle; the dealership had to send a driver to our home to pick up the other key fob in order to make the locks open -- they said there was no other way to get into the vehicle. A local dealership/service center is currently working on the vehicle, and we hope to know more about these problems/issues within the next couple of days.

Automatic transmission shift handle locks in park and you can not shift into gear. This is a known issue and gm even notes how to over-ride the problem in the owners manual (see page 2-31), when it happens. Since this happens so often, and to so many owners (see internet comments on problem), a permanent fix should be done and covered by the manufacturer. In an emergency situation you may not have time to play with the shifter and this can lead to an accident or personal injury. While gm does note to contact a dealer about this problem in the owners manual, no recalls seem to have been made?.

C6 Corvettes have electrically operated doors so it is impossible to open a door when the battery is dead. Having a dead battery, I placed the car in my driveway to jump start it. As I went to my truck to start it and connect the jumper cables the Corvette began to slowly roll backwards - apparently the hand brake was not quite set enough (manual transmission). I was unable to open the door to apply the brakes or handbrake because of the lack of battery power. The car continued to roll backwards, accelerating, with me unable to hold or stop it. It rolled across the street, down my neighbor's driveway, and through his closed garage door coming to a stop at the rear of his garage with a heavy impact (over $11 thousand in damages). My neighbor's 2 small girls often play in that garage with the doors closed or in the driveway. If they had been playing or anyone or any vehicle had been in the street at that time there would likely have been one or more fatalities due to the runaway driver-less vehicle. Only luck prevented a serious accident with possible fatalities or serious injuries. This is obviously an unacceptable and unnecessary design defect for c6 Corvettes (and possibly other vehicles with key-less entry and electrically operated doors). I believe that Chevrolet should recall these vehicles and add a mechanical way to quickly open the door from the outside in event of a runaway situation (there is a mechanical backup if one is in the car or if one has the time to manually open the trunk - a slow procedure).

When pressing in the clutch to come to a complete stop the clutch peddle remained on the floor and I had to hold down hard on the break peddle to stop and stall the engine. The car was in gear and after stopping I was able to shift into natural (six speed manual transmission). I was grateful this occurred at a low rate of speed and no traffic behind me. I can only imagine what could of happen if the failure occurred while in traffic at a higher rate of speed. The car was towed to a chevy dealer and the service technician said the clutch master cylinder internal seal was ruptured and needs to be replaced. He also indicated that the slave cylinder may also need to be replaced. This car has less than 12,000 miles.

Automatic shifter gets stuck in park. Following the manual procedure does not help. Pushing release button does not help, pushing shifter forward does not help. This has happened at least 25 to 30 times. Dealer says replace shifter to fix. What's to stop this from reoccurring? this appears to be a safety problem.
After having the car for a couple of months start the odyssey of getting out the park for reverse or drive, over the time and use has been complicated, also following directions on the owners manual have to turn off the car for couple times to resolve and continuous, have tried lots of recommendations and nothing better if not worse.
