The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the check engine warning light illuminated, and the message “low engine power” was displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle lost motive power immediately afterwards. The contact had to wait sometimes before being able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the turbo supercharger had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 140,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated while driving 70 mph, she started to smell a burning oil odor inside the cabin of the vehicle. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated she turned off the heater to stop the odor from entering the cabin. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the turbo oil feed and return line to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired but was pending repairs. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with TSB: pi0851b. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
