1 Automatic Transmission Cooler problem of the 2012 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 11/21/2020

I purchased this vehicle at anaheim auto hub last June 6, 2020 for my daughter. Couple months later it started leaking and smells like burning oil. And the stabili track sensor and the traction control sensors came on. And, as well as the key got stuck inside the ignition couple of times. So I took it the mechanic to get the leaks fix. The mechanic found that the valve cover gasket leak and valve timing solenoid. So the mechanic replaced the valve gasket cover and the valve timing solenoid leak, and right after that being said, one week later we found leaking so, I took it back to mechanic again, now they found 3 different leak, from the oil cooler leak, engine oil pan gasket and leaking on engine timing cover gasket. And I found 7 recalls on this vehicle that has never fix. And I am the new owner and I just fining this out. 2 Automatic Transmission Cooler problem of the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 12/19/2019

During diagnostic found excessive oil mixed in with the coolant all through the engine. Removed spark plugs and found cylinder #4 had coolant on top of the piston and the spark plug was saturated in coolant as well. Removed cylinder head and cleaned head gasket sealing surface. Inspected for any signs of cracks and found none. Using a straight edge could not find any areas of the cylinder head that were warped or damaged indicating a head gasket failure. However only found oil in cooling'system but no coolant in the engine oil. Removed oil drain plug and found no signs of coolant. Removed transmission drain plug and found no coolant in the transmission fluid either. After inspecting oil cooler found it had internally failed causing the oil to leak in to the coolant. Recommend replacing head gasket, radiator inlet hose, oil cooler inlet hose, heater core inlet hose, heater core outlet hose, both turbo charger cooler hoses, the turbo charger oil inlet pipe and the turbo charger oil return pipe. After completing repairs cleaned cooling system and flushed with warm water 4 times before filling cooling system with coolant. Test drove vehicle and no problems were found after test drive. Recommend customer have coolant flushed during. next . . Oil . Change to remove any oil that may have been left in the cooling system after repairs were made.

4 Automatic Transmission Cooler problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 02/29/2012

1st the vehicle failed to shift into reverse. The torque converter had disassembled and transmission was replaced. One month later the engine began to smoke, the valve cover had melted and needed to be replaced gm charged me for this under warranty part. Then, I was making a left hand turn onto a residential street my vehicle began to smoke inside the vehicle. I shut down the car and looked under the hood oil was in the anti freeze fill tank, I called gm they sent a truck and took it to dealership. The result; gm told dealership to replace engine, called back and said don't replace try to fix it. They replaced the turbo charger, turbo cooler, and oil cooler, only to have me back 5-6 times with cooling problems, the vehicle still has cooling issues, and goes back for service every two weeks or so. The vehicle was brought back to service as there were still shifting problems. They found the torque converter disassembled and transmission had to be replaced again, and then again a few months later. The vehicle has a steering issue that has been brought to the their attention. The steering locks up periodically when traveling over 30mph, and has made me afraid I will be driving and lock up permanently. The brakes are an issue on the vehicle now and prior to recall for brake assist, it is still hard to stop the vehicle. And brakes have to be replaced every 3 months. There is definitely an electrical issue with this vehicle as the emergency flashers worked periodically then completely stopped working, as well as the running lights burning out within a month of replacement on the passenger side of the vehicle. The dealership feels its not a problem. This vehicle may shut off from electrical issues eventually. When using the air conditioner the dashboard fills with over a half inch of condensation and leaks out of the vents profusely. Valve cover had to be replaced again.
