My check engine light turned on, so I took it in and they said the valve cover needed to be replace. The cost was $280. 00 to replace it. When starting the car there is a loud clanking noise. This only happens when starting the car. We thought replacing the valve cover would correct this issue, but it did not. The car still has a really loud clanking noise. Once the car is moving it drives fine. (manual shift car) however our fears are that if something breaks while driving down the freeway, that it could cause engine loss or worse freeze in the middle of cars driving 75mph and cause a sever accident. Can y'all please check into this and let me know if there has been any recalls with this issue?.

Apprx. 29000 miles. Prob. 1: heater stopped workiing, prob. 2: vent blower motor making loud tinking noise. Prob 3: feel pulsating intermittently while driving, got really bad and service stabilitrak display appeared. Got to destination, car parked couple hours. Upon starting car and putting in drive with light acceleration it wouldn't move, accelerate more would jump forward then lock up. Next day had car towed to dealer. Picked car up 7 days later, it drives but now makes chirping noise when shifting with break completely depressed, break line chirping as well. Will bring back to dealer. All repairs covered by warranty. 1 month warranty left.

Was traveling approximately 62 mph I pressed the gas pedal to the floor and the power stopped from the engine and the transmission down shifted causing a loud thud noise in the dash board area. The vehicle never increased speed it dropped down to approximately 50 mph until I exited, upon exiting I came to a complete stop and restarted the vehicle. When accelerating the dash board now vibrated at approximately 5000 rpm. I took the vehicle to the dealer paddock Chevrolet. Driving in the vehicle with the service representative roland we were able to recreate the secondary vibration. The dealer said there are no codes for the loss of power. I left the vehicle at paddock and it is there now. Gm has been non-responsive case # 8-3183509862. I have been in high-speed accidents before and am deeply afraid to drive this vehicle with out knowing why there was power loss and when it will happen again.

The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph, the transmission failed to shift and there was an illumination of the engine warning indicator. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer for diagnosis, where the technician replaced the faulty transmission. In addition, the driver's side rear view mirror would emit a loud whistling noise whenever the vehicle was in motion. The dealer was in the process of replacing the mirror. There was also a large hole in the air conditioner compressor, which required replacement. The contact also stated that the exterior body paint was peeling near the front passenger side headlight. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 64.
