1 Transmission Stuck In Gear problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 03/12/2016

Car is in for service for 3rd time -- intermittent electrical problem causing loss of transmission (I. E. Revs then drops in and out of gear); driver display warnings include service stabilitrak, service power steering, service transmission. Power door locks also operate on their own. Instrument cluster gauges will drop towards their off position, then resume normal position during these events. If the car is shut off, sometimes a "no start" condition will occur when the key is turned to the start position, gauges will operate normal even with no start condition. After rapidly cycling the key off/on/start position for sometimes up to 30 times, car has always eventually started. Sometimes condition has cleared, other times transmission is stuck in a gear (3rd for previous dealership visit, 4th for current visit) but not in a limp home mode as full engine power is available. Manual shifting is not permitted, "shift denied" appearing on the driver display. Very concerned about safety as dealership cannot guarantee that transmission will not drop into lower gear at highway speeds. If the transmission were to suddenly drop into 3rd at 75 mph with no application of the brakes, the car behind me may not be able to react to the sudden drop in my vehicle's speed. Condition has happened when vehicle and components are hot, such as after highway/city driving for 2 hours.

2 Transmission Stuck In Gear problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 08/01/2014

When taking off sometimes it launches fine like a normal car! but 40% of the time it stalls out, than decides to go, which has cause me to almost be hit multiple times. Since the first time it happened, its happening more often and shifting harder and harder. If this keeps up im gonna lose my transmission when I really need it pulling out into traffic. I bought a car to be reliable and safe to drive, now I am afraid to pull out into traffic because of the chance it may not go, as if its stuck in neutral. The gm diagnosis was it couldnt be re created and no codes so its performing fine! this is caused me to be scared for my life at times and makes me very nervous during driving now. Tried to talk to gm corp about it and the sent me to gm diagnosis to know whats wrong but ive done this and they say nothing is wrong! anyone is welcome to take my car out for a drive to experience the fact that it is not operating right. Please help figure out this problem. Found many other stories like this on other Cruze owners. We need to figure this out before its a recall issues and takes lives!.

3 Transmission Stuck In Gear problem of the 2012 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 02/01/2013

I was at a stop light when the light turned green I pushed the accelerator an the car was jerky. I the car finally moved and there was a loud bang from the rear and it felt like I had been hit in the rear. The car jerked, sputtered and then stopped moving. This was a few days after taking the car to the dealer and telling them the car was not shifting properly. They fixed my broken tranny but it still does not drive safely. It doesn't accelerate, the gears get stuck merging on the highway is a nightmare. Almost two years to the day my car is once again at the dealer for the exact problem. I was driving up a small incline, pushed the gas the car struggled to go. There was a loud harsh jerk the car finally moved. It sputtered and the check engine light came on.

4 Transmission Stuck In Gear problem of the 2012 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 08/17/2012

I received my chevy Cruze LS in August of 2012 after having it for a week I started to notice issues with the transmission. I drove it up north and after being on the freeway going a constant speed of 75 mph, when forced to slow down due to traffic the car could not figure out what I was trying to do and just had a mind of its own. The rpms would shoot up very high and the car would struggle to accelerate (almost as if it were stuck in neutral) and eventually it would jerk forward very hard and then accelerate. This happens every time I get on the freeway now and have to slow down because of traffic or slow down to get off at the exit (and continues well after being off the freeway). I am lucky I haven't been rear ended and severely injured or killed. I've had the car for almost two years now and its only gotten worse, it now does the same thing when driving down the street at 30 mph, it will be going along just fine then all of a sudden the engine revs as if it were shifted into neutral and then catches itself and jerks really hard and is fine again. Also when slowing down it seems to downshift too quickly almost coming to a complete stop on its own, which is why I am afraid of being rear ended. I have taken the car in to 5 different dealerships and am told every time that either they don't see the problem and I don't know what I'm talking about or they can see there's a problem but there's nothing they can do about it. I'm very disappointed in the quality of this car, I've also had issues with the radio and my usb cord not connecting to my phone and even when it does connect the songs come through with lots of static. I have tried different cords, different phones and multiple ipods and it keeps happening. I feel totally helpless and am sick of feeling unsafe in my car. My family has always bought gm cars, this is my second chevy and my last!!.

5 Transmission Stuck In Gear problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 07/18/2011

The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated that the shifter was very difficult to maneuver and that the shift cable was faulty. The contact was unable to shift into first or second gear. While downshifting at 25 mph, the shifter would become stuck and cause the vehicle to coast while in traffic. The contact took the vehicle to a dealer but the dealer was unable to locate a failure within the shifter. The contact called the manufacturer regarding the failure and was advised to take the vehicle back to the dealer. The dealer then adjusted the shifter cable, which remedied the failure. The failure mileage was 200.
