Vehicle was being parked in garage when it accelerated in reverse, on it's own, very quickly. Fortunately I was able to avoid colliding with any thing behind me by braking in time. I then shifted into drive when vehicle accelerated forward, on it's own again, very quickly. I was not able to brake before vehicle crashed into concrete garage wall, severely damaging front end. Vehicle is still under warranty, and I intend to have dealership haul it in for repairs. I have found other drivers complain on the internet of experiencing the exact same issue as I described above. This model, Chevrolet, Equinox, 2025 is not safe to drive!.

The vehicle has ongoing and worsening electronic and safety-related issues. The fuel range and fuel economy fluctuate abnormally and frequently, sometimes even while the vehicle is stopped. The infotainment screen has experienced intermittent black areas/partial blackout while driving, affecting system reliability. Recently, the automatic transmission began hesitating during the initial gears, behaving abnormally and requiring me to reduce speed for the vehicle to respond properly. This occurs consistently. These issues have been reported multiple times to the dealership and gm with no resolution, and communication has stopped. I am concerned the vehicle is unsafe to drive and could fail unexpectedly.
Driving down the interstate my 2022 Chevrolet Equinox lt lost all propulsion and shut off. I was able to get pulled over to the side of the road had to have my vehicle towed. Vehicle was repaired after a week at the dealership the problem was the fuel pump module again. This is the 2nd time the fuel pump modulehas went out in 2 years.
The vehicles electrical system failed or faulted while operating. Engine went into a slow mode while operating in traffic. After stopping vehicle would not restart. Very dangerous for an elderly person operating the vehicle.

I was driving on the highway at a fast speed 75+ miles per hour. I was in the left lane. My car turned off and there was no acceleration. It was not getting fuel. I was able to make it to the right lane and merge off the highway before it stopped moving by momentum alone. Cars had to slow down and go around me almost causing an accident. It is not okay to let people drive around in an unsafe manner when, now I found that this is a common problem. Having an accident on I-95 is no joke. It could have cost me my life.
We were in our pharmacy drive thru pick up lane when our car suddenly died, and would not restart. No engine light came on prior. We waited three hours for our tow truck in 99 degree weather to take it to the nearest dealership. Had the fuel pump power control module and also the fuel tank fuel pump module replaced. Now back at dealership, as the fuel gauge is being repaired. Our car evidently didn't show up as needing the fuel pump module recalled. $2000 later, I wonder why not?.

The fuel pump is not consistently providing fuel to the engine and causing the engine to stall while driving. The fuel pump is not properly functioning.
While driving on the highway, the vehicle lost power with no warning. Was able to get it to the side of the road and had it towed to dealership. The found the fuel pump module was at fault. Had it replaced and 2 weeks later the check engine light came on and same diagnostic code came up for the fuel pump module. (had just been replaced). Took to dealership again and they replaced the module again stating it could be a faulty part. Now again 3 weeks later the check engine light is on again. Same diagnostic code came up again stating it is the fuel pump module. Car is currently at the dealership for the third time in 6 weeks for the same issue. Thankfully there has been no personal injury involved but the car stopping while driving on a highway is very dangerous and scary. This is definitely a crash risk for the driver /passengers and others on the roadway.
On August 16, 2025, my 2022 chevy Equinox experience an engine stall while I was driving with no warning, no prior check engine light. This was very scary for my own safety but more importantly my child’s safety who was in the back seat. Had I not been able to move my car to the side of the road or had we been on one of atlanta’s major interstates this could have been a fatal accident for the both of us. I immediately took my car to the dealership where I purchased this car brand new off the truck and have had it serviced ever since. Not only did I take it, I took it there with a recall notice (n222372310) for 21-22 chevy Equinox experience engine stalls due to a faulty fuel pump module. The dealership informed me that this recall “did not apply” to my VIN. And I had to place it under my warranty and pay my $200 deductible for them to diagnose that in fact my fuel pump module was bad and needed to be replaced, nothing else.
The incident except for by my 2015 Chevrolet Equinox has major electrical faulty ends in and timing belt changes which causes the vehicle to stall on a consumer at any time for me I was driving on a major highway or five lanes going to work and the car decided to slow down and started shedding off thank god that I made it to the far right side on a media strip and was able get the car to safety on the knee issue but she did slow down and shut off identity media call the triple a for help and roadside assistance they came as soon as they could and then test the car to see if it was the battery or the alternator which I had put in two brand new batteries and two brand new alternators and still have both he test them all and said no he's been pulling cars off major highways that are Equinox and terrain class action lawsuit against general motors in Chevrolet due to faulty issues in the engine and they recently one cases from 2010 to 2014 although my car is a 2015 the same issue still arise my car has 85,000 miles on it when this happens and I kept up the oil change and the maintenance on the car I then in turn had the car towed to a Chevrolet dealer and turned it a diagnostic test on my car vehicle and this is what they said in my car has the same issue that is from the previous lawsuit of Equinox 2010 to 2014. Have the results are as is fun the Chevrolet GMC dealer the vehicle will not start, the problem and issues extend from the timing belt chain, valves, blown gasket, fuel pump,this is causing many major issues along with all the recalls with the 2010 and 2018 Chevrolet Equinox and terrain. The only thing that they recommend is that the car engine needs to replacement to make consumers feel safe in their vehicles. Although my car is a 2015 I only have 85,000 miles and I continue to do all the maintenance and I was told by another mechanic that it does not have nothing to do so much as the oil change they knew that there were faulty issues with timingbelt.

On two separate instances the vehicle stalled and shut off. Once on a highway at 65mph. Second failure was on a private road at 15mph. Both instances were in a 1 week period.
Check engine light came on got code p1005 and code p1029. Shop had to change out fuel level sensor code came back so they had to change out fuel pump. Car has 55,000 miles on it.
On August 3rd, while driving on the freeway at 55mph, my vehicle's brakes became extremely stiff, and I could not press them down to engage the braking system. I was about to collide with the vehicle in front of me, so I quickly veered right without looking because I had no time. After moving to the right, the brakes finally slowed the vehicle to around 40mph. Luckily, the traffic light turned green, allowing me to continue moving with the remaining momentum. As I attempted to take a turn on a bridge above the freeway, the steering wheel became stiff. At this point, I was unsure whether I could turn the car at that speed with the steering not responding. I need general motors and Chevrolet to take action on the severity of the situation and make the necessary and appropriate restitution to me for the traumatic and physical injuries sustained during the incident. For the amount of time I've been without a vehicle, I am now running high risk of loosing my job. $3,700. Is what they are charging me, which is conveniently not under warranty. When consistently stating that no one really sure what's covered and what's not covered.

Now, it won’t even start, and the battery was only at 73%. I can’t help but imagine my car stopping in the middle of the road. I would have died. My high-voltage battery isn’t even being recognized by the system. This is a highly safety hazard. If this happens on the highway, I would have been killed. Something is wrong with a less than 3 month old car.
This complaint is to clarify and supplement a previous report. The issues began in August 2025, not September. Initially, the vehicle presented abnormal fuel range fluctuations, including while stationary, as well as intermittent “key missing” warnings while driving and display black spots. These issues were reported to dealerships and gm without resolution. Over time, the condition has progressively worsened, and additional symptoms have developed, including abnormal noises and, more recently, transmission hesitation during the initial gears, requiring me to reduce speed for the vehicle to respond properly. The escalation of these issues over time raises ongoing safety concerns.
We where driving to do some errands I noticed the engine light came on. Then the engine cut off. Took it to a garrage near by they did a scan said it is my fuel pump. I was told to check to see if there was a recall on this. I checked there is a recall on this problem. I called the number it said to call. Gave them my VIN. On July 23, 2025 my Equinox quit running as I was pulling out into an intersection. After several attempts to restart with no success I called my roadside assistance provider and had the Equinox towed to a repair facility. After diagnostics on July 24, 2025 it was determined that the fuel pump control module had failed. The module was replaced and reprogrammed. After the repair was completed it was brought to my attention that there was a recall issued on "some" 2022 Equinox 's but not all 2022 Equinox 's. My VIN was not included in the recall but suffered the same failure as the recalled units. No warning lights or symptoms prior to the failure. This continues to be a safety issue because without warning the vehicles just stop running. The Equinox had 45,939 miles on the odometer at the time of the failure. This in a know safety issue and gm should have included all 2022 Equinox 's or at least a broader range of vins in the initial recall.
I’ve had the 02 sensor, maf sensor and a system update and my check engine won’t clear I’ve been dealing with this for over 5 months now. A chevy dealership has had my vehicle and never informed me of warranty or recall issues. My check engine is throwing random code relating to the 02 sensor, lean code and multiple components having communication issues. Check engine will be lit and then clear on its own then return almost immediately.
•initial incident: July 2, 2025 •recurring occurrences: August 8, 2025 vehicle issue description: several months ago, the vehicle’s check engine light came on. A diagnostic scan was performed at o’reilly auto parts, but no error codes were detected. The vehicle was taken to an independent repair shop for further inspection. The shop found no mechanical issues and confirmed the vehicle was operating normally at that time. On August 6, 2025, the “service brake assist” warning appeared briefly on the dashboard but turned off shortly afterward. The parking brake warning light also came on that same day, then went off. These warning lights reappeared intermittently on August 8, 2025. No repairs have been made as there are no active recalls related to these issues. However, it is noted that there are consumer complaints reporting similar problems. This raises concerns about potential intermittent or undetected safety system faults, particularly involving the brake assist system and parking brake functionality. Checked brakes again no issues determined per bridgestone and mavis.
While driving my 2022 Chevrolet Equinox, the car suddenly stalled on a city road. This occurred in a busy area with multiple stops and traffic signals. I was accelerating after a stop when the engine cut off abruptly, without any prior warning lights or error messages. I was able to coast to a safe stop, but the incident was frightening and dangerous. The vehicle was towed to a dealership and inspected. They diagnosed the issue as a failure of the fuel pump control module (fpcm). The part was not covered under my powertrain warranty despite being essential to the operation of the vehicle. The dealer confirmed this failure and replaced the part. The total repair cost was $592. When I attempted to check my eligibility for the NHTSA campaign number 23v013000 (regarding a fuel pump defect that may cause stalling for same 2022 Chevrolet Equinox), my VIN was reported as not currently eligible, even though the issue I experienced matches the recall description. The vehicle has since been repaired and has been operating fine, while I didn’t experience any stalling, I’ve noticed the gear shifts more closely now — they feel very quick or more noticeable than before, but no warning lights have appeared. I am filing this complaint to formally document the safety issue I experienced and to request a review of my VIN in light of the recall. A sudden stall on a city road puts drivers and passengers at significant risk, and I believe this is a serious safety concern that should be investigated.

Fuel pump went out.
On [xxx], about 400 miles into our trip heading south on [xxx], the engine reduced power warning came on. We were in the fast lane traveling at 70 mph,the car immediately slowed to about 30 mph. There was no prior warning or check engine light. Vehicles behind us had to swerved and change lanes to avoid hitting us. The computer went into limp mode, when pressing the accelerator there was no power, we somehow made it to the right shoulder without getting hit and limped along to a safe spot and called a tow truck. Car was towed to an independent repair shop recommended by aaa, they ran the codes and came up with a code for high pressure fuel pump. This vehicle is a 2024 chevy Equinox with 15,018 miles on it, we bought brand new in April 2024 with 5 miles, always maintained at the dealer. Because we were 400 miles from home and the closest dealer in bakersfield said they could not work on it for 3 or 4 days, we had to have the independent shop replace the fuel pump. We had to rent a car to continue our trip and picked up the car 2 days later. Replacing the fuel pump fixed the problem but the check engine light came back on about 30 miles later. The mechanic ran the codes and said it needed the computer re-flashed but it would be safe to drive home. After we got home we took it to the dealer, they re-flashed the computer and check engine light went off. After about 30 miles later the check engine light came back on, took it back to the dealer and this time the codes showed a bad catalyst converter, dealer replaced under warranty, only 15728 miles on vehicle at this point. So far 200 miles and light is still off. I I filed a complaint with general motors customer service to let them know of this problem. I also requested to get reimbursement for the rental car and fuel pump. They refused to reimburse us because we didn't have a dealer do it, regardless of the situation. My car threw on the check engine light and a note flashed on the screen and car just slowed down immediately. I had to press on the brakes really hard to get it home and then the transmission wouldn’t go in reverse. I took it to the dealer and they couldn’t duplicate the problem but said the battery contacts weren’t tight.
My fuel pump just gave out randomly while driving on the highway. Unable to drive over 14mph. I head other 2018 Equinox’s experienced this problem often. I believe my vehicle should be included as well. In the past I’ve also gotten a random alert that my forward collision was disabled while driving on the highway with no warning. It always goes away on its own.
While I was driving the engine reduce power came on. I was currently doing 75 miles and the truck dropped down to 55 miles per hour. I took it to the Chevrolet place and it needed a fuel pump , and I was advised that this has been a common issue for the Chevrolet Equinox vehicles , and my vehicle is practically brand new. This issue needs to looked into because the is dangerous and a-lot of dealerships are stating this is a common issue.
While driving, the car started making a whining sound on acceleration. As I was driving up my street the car went into limp mode and shut down, only allowing enough time to park. If this had happened on a main road or freeway it could have caused an accident due to the sudden loss of power. The issue is the high pressure fuel pump and has been confirmed by a Chevrolet dealer service center. I reported the issue to gm asking for assistance with the repair and to explore whether or not this could fall under the power train warranty. Mileage at the time of the incident was 39113. The only warning lights that appeared came on as the car went into "limp mode" but no warning prior to this incident.
