One problem related to front air bag sensor control has been reported for the 2000 Chevrolet Express. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Air bag light is on on dashboard. Chevrolet had installed the airbag sensor on the floor under the drivers seat in a work vehicle chevy 3500 Express. Any moisture causes the sensor to corrode requiring replacement. I have communicated with numerous other owners who have had to pay chevy $1,000 to move the sensor under the dash. Why would you place a sensitive part on the floor in a vehicle where moisture can easily intrude. This is dangerous and could cause air bag malfunctions.
