Ignition switch was involved in recall a few years back and dealership say they replaced it but now I'm having problems out of switch again when I take key out ignition and open driver door the chime comes on like key is still in ignition switch and door will not lock when I hit door lock all 3 other door lock but not driver door and its draining battery because it's still telling key is in ignition when it's not if I turn it back and forth a few times sometimes it will lock and the chime will stop.

Tk-the contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Hhr SUV. The contact stated that the vehicle's kill system came on while driving 65 mph. The vehicle was pulled over and towed to the dealer leo martin Chevrolet 217 TX-332, lake jackson, TX 77566 (979) 230-2500 and they fixed the kill switch system. The issue reoccurred again on the road and vehicle was towed home. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and had a diagnostic test performed and the security system was rebooted. The vehicle was tested and returned to the contact. The manufacturer had not been contacted. The failure mileage was 128,000. Tf.

2008 Hhr chevy LS 4d. Within 10 months of purchasing this car (October, 2017) the smell of gasoline became so strong I took it to the local mechanic. The fuel line had completely rusted out. I was told it could have caught fire! cost of replacement was $420. 00. A huge financial burden for a senior citizen. I have original bill for this amount and receipt of payment.

For the past few months I noticed my power steering, cruise control being cut off and jerking with my car. But up til the beginning of August my car wouldn't start, it would crank but not start. Come August 18th my car compllife roy won't start. There was a recall on my vehicle and the previous owner took in the car for the recall but now it's acting up again. Multiple time where I loose control of my car and or the car would slow down to the point it felt like I was stopping then it would jerk. I thought the dealership could fix this but they can not, gm, rigth way and etc are not helping. I'm terrified my car won't work and also it'll be dangerous to drive.

For the last month my electrical system has been going haywire, all of a sudden all my gauges start fluctuating and all service indicator lights will come on and after the car is off for a while all warning lights will go off. This morning on my way to work my security lock and esc warning lights came on and when I stop and start to go again the car feels like it is getting hit from behind. My two rear windows no longer work, front passenger door will not unlock automatically and driver door handle is broken. I have seen a lot of electrical issues on this site, yet there have been no recalls. What is going on??.

Leaking fuel line. Several repairs done and keeps leaking. Electrical system radio cuts back and forth to aux, constantly. All lights for the brakes, service traction, check engine. Come on, go off for a while then come back on.

On April 25,2018, while driving on the freeway rt passenger back door opened, no indicator light came on dash board to show rt back door ajared. . . On April 19,2018 while driving on city street rt front passenger door opened, no indicator light appeared on dash. Both rt front and back passenger doors opened with in five days apart while driving. I was informed by dealership that the vehicle was old. Cause: faulty latch spring loader a15 body & electrical, 10470c lock, replaced rt front passenger door latch assembly. I purchased it in 2011and the present mileage is 17,000mi. I feel if the hatch door opens while on the freeway and my wheel chair rolls out a fatal accident would occur. I feel the material used in the latch spring loader and door latch assembly is unsafe. Parts should be recalled and replaced by the manufacturer, as well as notifying owner. Thank u for your help.

Whial driving the power steering assistance turns off/fails and the power steering light showes on dash. When you stop and cut the car off and back on it works again for a wial then fails again.

Once to take the key out the car still running, once you start it the alarm stays on for 3min.

We was going down he road it just switched off I couldn't turn the steering wheel and I had to stand on the breakes. I could have seriously hurt someone or my self if not worse and I hit a curve hard.

The driver's hearing was impacted for days after the air bag deployment. A head injury was sustained and the air bags had to be maneuvered for the driver to exit the vehicle. I bought a used 2008 chevy Hhr from lithia in eureka, CA 11/3/2017 and 11/24/2017 the car would not engage the drive function. Tried several times and no luck. Transmission seems blown, and the electrical was malfunctioning. No flasheers, radio with weird noises, strange sounds from engine after attempting to drive. We are now stuck 200 miles from home and lithia manager has not returned my phone call. I am a middle aged student, working minimum wahe. I gave the dealership all my momey for a broken car. I shouls have researched more that is apparent. I take responsibility for my mishaps. Yet, this is 3 weeks after giving away $5000 for a working vehicle. Please help if you can.

The service ecs does not go off. Theirfor the car will not go unless the roads are completely free of snow and ice. The car just sits and spins. Traction control light on constantly . Can not drive car in winter months.

Took it to dealer it will cost over 500 to fix. I can barely driving it a block without the power steering going out. It starts 4 mins after driving car. . . Please help and fix!!! this is dangerous.

One night after work I got into my car and had no headlights after having bulb changed three times!!! this car has cost me more money then any car I have ever owned and there's not even 100000 miles on it the whole car should be recalled.

The var jerks when it reaches gear changes and makes it harder to steer and the check engin light stays on. Shows error code u0101.

" takata recall " my drivers side driver door ( on my 2007 chevy Hhr )does not open from the inside or the outside. I locked it came back to open it, it would unlock but not open. I now have to crawl over the passenger side. I have researched and this is a very common problem in these vehicles.

1) the turn signals have failed to cancel after a turn on an intermittent basis since the car was new. 2) recently, the turn signal will not hold in the on position on a left turn and has to be manually held down to actuate the signal for the entire turn. 3) at the same time, the right signal will no longer automatically cancel and has to be manually turned off after a turn. These are issues because you either have the turn signal not on during a cross traffic turn when you thought it was engaged, or you have it on when you thought it had automatically shut off.

I am experiencing intermittent problems with the gauges and power steering as well as warning lights coming on and loss of communications to the d. L. C. Connector. It may happen at any time anywhere.

My 2011 Hhr has started acting up by throwing out the reduced engine power light, esc light and service traction light. This will happen when in park(when warning up the vehicle) and when im driving. It seems to happen more in cold weather. When it happens it reduces the speed down to 25mph and lurches forward and sounds horrible! I have had this happen when driving down a highway and the interstate (luckily I was in the right lane and able to get the shoulder safely. There is no warning when it is about to happen. It also will do it while stopped waiting for a stop light to change. It will throw on the check engine light and we have checked the codes and changed what it said needed change but that did not work. From what I have looked up it looks like people are having all sorts of issues with this but no one has found a solution. There needs to be a solution because spending hundreds of dollars for it not to fix it is not right.

I was driving my 07 Chevrolet Hhr @ 45 mph when the dash display blinked then displayed engine power reduced, followed by a substantial reduction of speed. I couldn't accelerate beyond 30 mph, so I pulled off of the road to avoid being hit by the 18 wheeler traveling behind me. I turned the engine off and back on. The check engine light came on and stayed on. I drove 15 miles back home @ a speed of 30 mph. The vehicle refuses to accelerate beyond 30 mph.

The electronic power steering turns off on a constant basis while driving the vehicle and all power steering is lost !.

On going issue of brake lights intermittently coming on without touching brake pedal. First noticed something wrong because cruise control wouldn't activate. Found problem at night when I could see the glow from my brake lights on the top inside edge of my rear hatch. Replacing brake switch above pedal did not fix problem. Sounds kind of funny, but I got brake lights to go off while setting in driveway and pounding my center console out of frustration. Internet search found other gm vehicles with similar problems and frustrated owners that took vehicles to dealerships that didn't fix their problem. Issue appears to be circuit board related with circuit boards located on passenger side lower center console. A sharp rap with the palm of my hand in that area will always get the brake lights to go off when they shouldn't have been on. Doesn't happen often, but seems crazy to have to keep checking to see if my cruise will set so I know if my brake lights are on. Dealership claims they haven't seen this problem, though as I stated earlier, internet search will find other gm owners with similar issue of brake lights on without touching brake pedal. Have had issue setting still or moving. Have had cruise kick off going down the road when the brake lights came on without touching the brake pedal.

Driving at 70 mph on freeway and suddenly "engine power reduced" warning comes on display and I can't accelerate. The engine cut off. On the freeway. This is not safe (obviously) and I don't see myself buying another chevy again. I have a family and this problem could kill us all.

On September 20 2016 while parked after picking up my children from school. My kids got into the rear passenger side door and when closing, the door would not shut. The latch would not catch onto the bar to keep the door shut. Uppon further research I found many complaints of chevy Hhr owners having the same problems with their car door locks as well. The lock actuator no longer functioning causing the latch to nonlinear work. Causing a huge safety problem. We can not drive a car that's door will not close and stay shut. It just pops right back open. Seeing how many similar complaints and reports there are online, this should be addressed by chevy and gm. This has happened to our driver side passenger door in the past as well. Thank goodness it did not happen while we were driving.

My brake lights stay on all the time. I replaced the brake positioning sensor. It is under my impression that many people have problems with this. Service air bag light on, also passenger air bag and seat belt alarms intermittently, radio display screen intermittently blank and scrambled, but audio works most occurrences stationary and while driving on streets or highways. Appt. W/dealer for airbag service tomorrow.

Power steering suddenly stops working and indicator light on dashboard says power steering- this happens intermittently while driving. Most of the time shutting of the vehicle and then restarting it will get the power steering working again for a short time. After driving the vehicle or allowing it to idle in the driveway then turning it off it will not start again for a minimum of 1 hour. While driving -slowing down to make a left hand turn- the engine has abruptly shut off and not immediately restarted. This is an extremely unsafe vehicle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
