The contact pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road where it was towed to the contact's brother's residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 14v400000 (electrical system). The part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 182,826.

2 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 12/31/2014

The contact owns a 2001 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed, a noise emitted from the front end and the engine stalled. The driver was able to merge to the side of the road; however, the brakes failed. As a result, the vehicle continued to roll, crashed into a pole, and caught fire. The front driver side air bag failed to deploy, causing the driver's head to strike the windshield. The driver suffered injuries to the head, neck, and shoulders, which required medical attention. It was unknown if a police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the contact¿s residence. The failure mileage was not available.

3 Engine Stall problem

The contact owns a 2001 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 30 mph, the engine stalled without warning. The vehicle was able to restart. The failure occurred on three occasions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the crankshaft sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000.

4 Engine Stall problem

Tl-the contact owns a 2001 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 mph, the engine stalled the engine will not restart have to wait awhile to start the engine and it will restart. The failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis. The mechanic was unable to locate the failure. The vehicle has not been repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000. Kw.

5 Engine Stall problem

Intermittently when vehicle runs over a bump it causes engine to stall out. Vehicle been in dealer shop on three occasions, and unable to duplicate the problem. Feel free to provide any further information.
