3 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 06/29/2018

General motors has decided that a defect, which relates to motor vehicle safety, exists in certain 2009 2010 Chevrolet Impala vehicles. The front passenger seat frame in these vehicles may rub against and damage the wires of the passenger presence sensor (pps) module, which could cause the pps system to fail to recognize that the passenger seat is occupied and improperly suppress the front passenger airbag. In addition, the cluster gauges and driver information center (dic) alerts may intermittently turn off or not function properly. In rare circumstances, the damage to the pps module could cause the airbag fuse to short, resulting in the loss of all airbags and seat belt pretensioners. General motors has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in 2005-2009 model year (my) Buick lacrosse, 2006-2011 my Buick lucerne, 2000-2005 my Cadillac deville, 2007-2011 my Cadillac dts, 2006-2014 my Chevrolet Impala and 2006-2007 my Chevrolet monte carlo vehicles. If the key ring is carrying added weight and the vehicle goes off road or experiences some other jarring event, it may unintentionally move the key away from the "run" position.

5 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 08/22/2016

About a week ago, my :service air bag" light came on while I was driving on a highway. I got home and looked at the latest recall notice sent via mail to us and saw the ignition recall could cause a problem with the airbags if not repaired so I made an appointment with a local dealer. Once there I was told that there was another recall and they would fix both. I asked about the light but was blown off. The car was repaired and I left with the light off. The next day the light came on but when I shut off the car it would go away. This has kept happening but since yesterday it is constant. I called the dealer and gm and both say they issues are not related. But there are a lot of people on line with the same issue. The second recall was for a passenger seat sensor that could cause damage to the seat belt pretensions and loss of air bags! gm is very blaise about their customers safety. This is another issue in a long list of problems I have had with the Impala. Two out of four door locks do not work unless you manually open them, one of my seat warmers does not function, etc. . . This is a poorly made vehicle and the issues are safety in nature.

6 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 06/27/2016

Service air bag sensor intermittently illuminates and remains on while driving, as does the air bag warning symbol. Unsure if air bag will inflate in a crash if light is on during a crash. Considerable safety concern for myself and family which are currently only ride in rear of vehicle.

7 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 05/28/2014

We own the car listed above and have for over two years. We bought it at a dealership in east tennessee. The car was previously used as a rent a car for enterprise. Not even a year after we bought the vehicle we had to replace the transmission. The biggest problem is the fact I have drove this car and all issues stated for a recall we have had a problem with. The most recent is the vehicle shutting off while driving it on highways. It's is saying service engine light mad than will say service traction control, than it will shutoff I been going 70 down an interstate and it shutoff mad about kill us. We had the vehicle checked and the accelerator pedal sensor or something like that is the problem by what technician say. I am just now starting to research the issues we have and found numerous recalls on this vehicle in which we have the problems listed above and more. Mainly the airbag steering control arm and vehicle just shutting off. I guess the best way to sum it up is they sold us a lemon perhaps but after looking at the recall list our vehicle meets the requirements for sure. Too many problems for a new vehicle. Just looking to take care of the problem before the car injures us or someone else on the highways. Hope this doesn't take long to get resolved because deaths could occur. Thanks for your time hope to speak with someone soon before it's too late. I mean I thought something major was wrong but the automd website really assured what we been thinking. Thanks for your time.

9 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 02/03/2014

I have owned the car since 9/2013. Shortly after purchasing the airbag sensor light started illuminating on and off. I took it back to the dealer and it was serviced. Shortly after that it came on again. Then back in February the car starrted making a very annoying and embarrising clicking sound that comes from the ac/heating unit. I was told that it ws common in the Impala and that it is the accuator. It has gotten so bad that it clicks even when the car is not running and is locked. I know at least 7 people here locally that has the same problems as listed above with the same year and model car. Please take a survey or do something because this is definitely a manufacturing issue.
